How refreshing. We Brazilians are so used to watch videos on youtube about Rio’s favelas, murders and violence in general. Your video on the other hand, not only showed a great view of my city but also refused to show the ugly side of it. I am so glad you were able to enjoy Rio as it was meant to be enjoyed. It is a beautiful city isn’t it? Thanks for the video.
Kylie Flavell Thanks. I will sure check it out. I have watched some of your other videos and love them all. I think your video hit me hard because that’s what I remember growing up in Rio. I moved to the US many years ago and watching your video, not only made me home sick but brought back some good memories of my once safe and beautiful city. Keep up the good work and again, muito obrigado.
Kylie, thank you. Its been almost a year that I kept pushing off writing a story which is situated in Rio-Ipanema, hopefully my first book in the making, and what you said about following your passion, is just, truly inspiring. So from the bottom of my heart, thank you, thank you, thank you. Much love from the Philippines.
You are brave Kylie! I so admire your passion and joie de vivre. Clearly the reward, in this case, was so well worth the work to get there! Well done and again, thank you for sharing! 🌞

I am so happy this video just popped up in my feed! I watched every video and they are all so inspirational and beautiful. I have been thinking about escaping my "normal" for a while and your lovely videos have truly motivated me. Stay blessed in your travels! I WILL keep watching :).
Stunning landscapes, I'm hopeful about visiting rio someday! Great film, fine editing and great storytelling skill, you're talented, keep it up! Regards from Costa Rica...
So do I, thank very much. I am in U.S., in Florida, I'm 74, 13 grand children and born in Rio. I'm not sure but your half japanese friend, Fabio, looks like very much a friend I had in Sao Paulo and his name was Fabio Saito. ????
you are so inspiring and kind!!! i loved your videos, it show that freedom life style i always wanted!!! where is the place where Fabio took you, the place you said 10 minutes after i was in a place i never see before in Rio. thank you!!!
they say in the realm of the senses Rio is the capital city, yea I can see how that's absolutely right with what you find on the sunny beach that's definitely my kind of steak tartar the topless kind
She went to Pedra do Telégrafo at the beginning of the video and then she went to Pedra da Gávea (one of the highest mountains in the world that ends directly in the ocean). The last shot was again back to Pedra do Telégrafo. Keep in mind that Pedra do Telégrafo is usually crowded on weekends.
+ClearlyCaitlin absolutely! Staying with a local host gives you the opportunity to experience the true culture of a place. Speak to a host beforehand and ask what they would recommend you see and do in their city!

I went to Rio for my honeymoon in 2001. Two of the American couples that stayed at the same hotel as we did got robbed two separate times in broad day light!! You can't even wear your jewelry out there!! & it's supposed to be way worse now!!! The Christ statue, Mountains & rainforest were all great & beautiful, but you couldn't pay me to go back!!!😕
...I'm planning for a Brazil visit but reading such makes me dont wanna go...sad coz everyone dream of visiting such a beautiful country but so scarry...wake up people of Brazil...
You can come here, don't be scared, you just have to be careful. Like, don't use jewelry in the street, but here is amazing and I'm sure you're gonna like! We woke up by the way haha! We fight every day for our country to get better, but the problem is that when the curruption is here for so long, is hard to end it fast, but as you can tell by the protests, we are fighting and we have hope for our country to get better! Anyway, you're very wellcome here if you decide to come! :D
Trafic a sucks selfish people and you coul be robbed in everywhere,Rio is amazing but its a enormous risck to be murdered kindnaped or raped ... I gues you to go to northwest in Brazil.
+Alexandre Gomes I'd say sorry about what I said of Rio but sorry I can't. Pic up a taxi in Rio it's impossible to not be robed once I bougth a coconut and the motherfucker changed the water of it with tube water It wold sound funny but it true. the population does make it worse may be you are a honesty guy but mostly the one that lives in Rio don't.

I just came back from my Rio trip and did hiking too. Which Pedra was this? I did Dois Irmaos among others. Is this the Telegrafo one?
