This video confirms my theory that VAS Aviation is just going around releasing smoke in airplanes' cockpits in order to maintain a regular upload schedule. I respect that
It always amazes me just how good atc is at their jobs, so calm when handling a potential emergency. And yes, I know pan pan is an urgency and not an emergency, but smoke in the cockpit can sometimes escalate quickly and it's a good idea to get on the ground asap.
Glad they were able to make it back safely, hope they resolved the issue. I remember being about to fly from Seattle back to San Diego, we loaded the plane up, and then as we were getting ready to leave there was a faint smell of smoke and fire in the cabin. Before we even left the gate they hurried us off the plane and found a second one for us to go on.
Yeah, my dad was born in Lausanne and therefore fluent in Swiss French and German. Yet, while speaking to a German speaking Swiss, due to their dialect, my dad has to speak English with someone who speaks Switzer deutch. Hahaha
Swiss and Smoke sound like a normal thing lately...
It certainly gives flashbacks😬
Victor, this may seem like a strange question, but if you don’t mind me asking, what year were you born in?
Unfortunately it does at the moment...
Swiss always brings to mind one thing. KLM another.
Just like SFO and Air Canada

All real events, I promise
@@VASAviation We know, we're just pulling your leg.

Got them back down rapidly. Well done!
Great handling by all concerned. Flight crew and all ATC working as a team, a lesson for all in the way it should be done.

It's always funny to hear these strong Swiss accents and the exchange of formalities in Swiss German.

Why do many aircraft near Zurich have smoke in the cabin/cockpit? Wr had lots of those lately!
A Swiss passenger jet diverting because of smoke. Now where have I heard of that before?
RIP Swiss 111.
whats up with swiss and smoke in their airplanes ?
Lufthansa turned them into EasyJet Swiss
Could it be deice fluid in the engine?
British Airways 093 had to do a go around en route to Toronto on 24th Jan after 2pm Eastern time. Could you please take a look?
Ok, at least Swiss now knows what to do in case of fumes in the plane and do it in timely manner...
Did someone cut the cheese?
Surely it’s Mayday
Does it really make a difference? Once they know the nature of the emergency it's irrelevant how they first called it in.
It depends what the source of the smoke is, where it is and if it’s under control.
Surely the pilots that are responsible for their aircraft would now better
Was only faint smell of smoke, no actual smoke. Explains the PAN PAN instead of the MAYDAY.
Look out now.
