I saw Neaera in November 2007 in Mechelen (Belgium),... I went alone, I had to take a train to get there... I kinda remember the gig organisor dude at the entrance being really happy people showed up, great set, fun moshpit and wall of death, last show of the tour, the vocalist mentioned something about smelly t-shirts if I remember well :D ...and I wasted all the money I had left on buying the Armamentarium cd, went home by train in a very happy mood :) Thank You Neaera, hope to see you again someday in Antwerp ! #wearestillneaerafans

For whatever reason, in extreme metal subgenres german bands are ignored throughout history compared to contemporary bands from other countries. At least it seems that way since the 80-s scene with bands like Helloween, Sodom, Destruction and Running Wild, there haven't been many German bands who broke out global recognition besides a very few like Powerwolf or Heaven Shall Burn.

Indeed! I've managed to catch them live on a few occasions, IIRC the first time was the second time I went to see The Black Dahlia Murder which would've been the Miasma tour so that'd be very shortly after they released The Rising Tide... and then the second time around a year or two at most I caught them with Chimaira which I believe was a few months after Let The Tempest... had been released (I honestly went more for the quality support line-up than to see Chimaira but they were actually still solid in the noughties). I do not recall off the top of my head the next time but it was in a bigger venue than the first two, So it would have had to have been either Armamentarium or Omnicide tours, It could have been with Unearth and Darkest Hour but I can't be certain.
