  • We spent a month travelling on Quark Expeditions' newest polar exploration ship, the MV Ultramarine in the Arctic and were blown away by this incredible small group luxury ship. We decided to do a full self-guided tour to bring you this Quark Ultramarine review video so you can see just what life is like onboard.
    Our goal is to show you every aspect of this beautiful vessel from a passengers' perspective so you know exactly what to expect if you ever have the chance to travel on Quark Expeditions' Ultramarine.
    From every different type of cabin, including the solo rooms, balcony suites and even the penthouse, we got an inside-look at every deck guests can stay on. We also dive deep into the Ambassador Theatre, the Panorama Lounge, the Balena Restaurant, the gym, the Tundra Spa and the polar boutique.
    Of course one of the big draw cards is the helicopter operations on the Ultramarine. Quark has two Airbus H145 helicopters onboard the Ultramarine, allowing guests to get to never-before-accessed terrain and see the polar regions from the air. We show how it all works.
    Another big part of any adventure to Antarctica or the Arctic are the zodiac excursions, and the Ultramarine has a fantastic system to deploy zodiacs on all sides. Curious how they get the zodiacs off or how to board a zodiac at sea? Come find out.
    We hope you enjoy our full Quark Ultramarine ship tour video, and that it answers any questions you may have about what it's like to travel on this ship. If you have any questions let us know in the comments.

    We were on the Ultramarine on her maiden voyage to Antarctica! Our goal was the Earnest Shackleton expedition. We enjoyed Christmas and New Year’s on board. 21 days of awesomeness. Everything in this video.
    I see many people who look familiar. People are wearing masks. We did too as it was during the pandemic.
    We were blessed beyond to have become part of the Ultramarine family. ❤

    Currently planning a trip to the Arctic and thinking of booking with Quark expeditions. Thank you for this video it was helpful. I did have a few questions if you do not mind answering. What room did you book? Also, jackets and boots were provided but what type of pants did you have on and what did your underlayer of clothing look like to keep you warm. Thank you.

    Great footage! Were there enough presentations/introduction prior to land excursions?

    • @nomadasaurus
      @nomadasaurus  Рік тому

      Hi Yvonne, there are definitely were. It will all depend what tour you do. If you have sea days, there are more presentations relating to the area you are travelling in. When you are onshore there are staff everywhere who love to give information also. If you have an question, there is always someone available to answer. The presentation room was big, audio was great and you can see a screen from anywhere you sit. Thanks for watching. :)

    Looks wonderful. Hopefully they’ve dispensed with the Face Diapers in 2024!

    Hey I have been planning to travel to antarctica with Quark because they are the only ones with the package that crosses antarctic circle along with other main areas. But as I did my research i read horrible reviews about quark and how they cancelled all the cruises just 10 days before the trip and some never got the refund , some got it after 7-8 months. After reading to more than 200 of such reviews I am so scared even though I really want to travel with them. Please help me out. What shall I do ?
    And how was your experience overall ?

    • @nomadasaurus
      @nomadasaurus  Рік тому

      Hi, we have just returned from Antarctica with Quark Expeditions and had an incredible time. If the reviews you are reading are in relation to COVID cancellations, that happened industry-wide, not just with Quark Expeditions. We haven't heard of anybody not being refunded though. Our personal experience was absolutely sensational in both the Arctic and Antarctic with Quark this year. Happy to chat more if you'd like. :)

      We travelled to the Arctic in July and August. We just returned from Falkland Islands, South Georgia and Antarctica in late November.

    woah! for 30k plus they give you a parka? Such a deal!

    • @nomadasaurus
      @nomadasaurus  Рік тому +1

      Yep, it's an expensive parka, but Quark throw in a free epic trip to the most remote regions in the world onboard a luxury expedition ship to sweeten the deal.

    You’re really requiring people to get the covid shot before going on your tour? 😂

      Not us........ It's the company. They have dropped it now.

    I see so many people in masks and it appears you did this either at the end of 2022 or the beginning of 2023. Were they seriously requiring these?

    • @nomadasaurus
      @nomadasaurus  4 місяці тому

      This was filmed in August 2022. Masks are no longer required on any of Quark Expeditions' ships or itineraries.
