Your reflections on your past reminded me of something I tell myself often. Suffering is pain plus resistance. You can’t avoid pain but you can choose acceptance rather than resistance and that’s how you heal and move forward. I think dwelling and ruminating on things is a form of resistance to healing and growth. Thanks for sharing!

I think I needed to read this because I have just recently dropped very toxic family members that have hurt me mentally and emotionally. I was mugged in Philadelphia a few years ago and I didn’t tell anyone. I still blame myself for it and it haunts me. New motherhood makes us go down memory lane in a weird way! Glad you’re ok, and you’re absolutely right. Dwelling over things that are out of our hands is a recipe for chronic unhappiness.

Postpartum hair loss was so freaking traumatic 🤣. Mine lasted about 3 months. Over the next few months, you'll have a ton of hair growing back in at once and sticking out everywhere. It's particularly noticeable around the hairline and can look like little bangs. Now my son is 21 months old, and my hair is totally grown out and normal.

Oh my gosh! Me too! When I COULD take a shower so much hair would come out! I lost more again when I weaned my babies from breastfeeding. I've done it three times and always lost hair at 3 months and then at a year when I would wean. But it's so worth it! Us mommies give everything of ourselves and our bodies, superhumans!!!

I’ve been taking biotin for my hair and I found out that it could cause false thyroid test results. Also not exactly sure if that was the cause but I always felt extremely tired so I decided to stop taking the biotin supplement. Surprisingly I started feeling much better. My hair loss, I intuitively think, was a result of sleep apnea due to my deviated septum, which caused my body to hypo-ventilate and not get enough oxygen. Had septoplasty done in November and it looks like my hair doesn’t fall as much. I don’t have kids yet so can’t share in your postpartum experience but I hope your endocrinologist can help you with your thyroid issues. Also Honor is so sweet and cute and getting bigger with each video! Y’all are just amazing!

It's really hard to ask yourself so many silent questions and not burden your loved ones/ keep quiet in relationships as to not upset the apple cart when someone takes advantage of you. Our experiences were different, but I drew a congruency between them. Hi Mama! I would try to increase the protein in your diet. When I dealt with hair loss I noticed it was around the time I wasn’t incorporating a healthy amount of protein. At that time I was mostly eating fruits, veggies and grains. The minute I increased my overall protein my hair started thickening and growing again. Also I started doing hot oil treatments 30-1 hr before washing my hair with a oil blend I make with castor oil as a carrier and I add in peppermint, rosemary, and lavender. If you have scalp issues you can add tea tree. You also can change the carrier oil as I know castor is too thick for some ppl. Massage into your scalp then let it sit for about 30 min and wash it out in the shower. It’s best to leave the oil in but I would recommend using it as an wash out oil when your first starting just to get used to it.

Hey guys, what a lovely little family.
Regarding the blender, I've had one that broke and it was my own fault. Always make sure that you clean the blade and dry it ASAP after using. If the rubber ring is wet for too long it will bend out of shape which will ruin the blender long term. Also make sure that the lid is always correctly screwed on or it might also leak liquid into the power base. Lastly really don't fill it up more than it says, trust me 😂

Thank you for sharing your story and reflections on it, Julia! Your thoughts really resonated with me. For almost the last 2 years (and ongoing) my wife and I have been stuck on the extremely shitty end of a custody battle for our teenage daughter. It has been absolute hell on my mental health, and I feel perpetually trapped in a cycle that oscillates between temporary "healing" and being overwhelmed with hopelessness and anger. I want to move forward with a stronger commitment to letting go of the things in this situation that I have absolutely no control over and to stop allowing others' reprehensible actions poison the love and time that we get to spend with our daughter.

Fortunately it only lasted 3 months and now it falls a “normal” amount and have a bunch of new baby hairs so I look like porcupine 😅 my mom gave me a bunch of natural remedies for hair growth the popular one is the rosemary water which I did begin incorporating, I would also use jojoba oil the night before washing and sleep with a silk hair wrap (on the nights i didn’t have oil) to keep my hair from getting everywhere.

I don't know if it would work for post partum hair loss, but I can tell you what worked for me for regular hair loss. I had stopped eating peanut butter, nuts, and seeds due to counting calories. My hair started falling out excessively, and increasingly, it became alarming. Winter came, and I had chapped hands. I started massaging jojoba oil on them before bed, and I started eating peanut butter, nuts, and seeds for the essential fatty acids. That had solved a previous skin problem for me, so I tried it. It worked for my chapped hands AND my hair stopped falling out! I think it's the vitamin E in them as well as the essential fatty acids.

Your little angel is SO cute and sweet!! For postpartum hair loss, just take your prenatals, iron (bloodbuilder by megafood), and I would suggest some highly bioavailable curcumin (like thorin brand). Also be very gentle, don't brush when wet, air dry, use silk pillowcases. Mine is still falling out years later, I swear, but I feel like when I keep it shorter I lose less so maybe doing a chop will help, especially if you feel it looks thin (I don't think it does).

Had my baby just before you. Post partum hair loss for me peaked at 5 months and then I started to see some baby hairs- yay! I really focused on getting lots of protein and fats because I found that's always helped my hormones. But topically I applied oil+ essential oils to the front of my hairline and used a scrub brush to really promote circulation before I washed my hair every week. I feel like I noticed big changes right around starting that so I do believe it helped some. Hang in there I hope it stops for you soon!! I also chopped my hair off post baby after it was butt length pregnant so I'm like reallllly missing my hair all around 🤣 I feel you ❤️

Someone probably said this but the nutribullet you push in like you did and then twist and it locks in so you don’t have to hold it.
I have lupus and lose hair a lot. Keeping my hair trimmed and lots of layers helps. I hope you find some supplements to help ❤

Yours actually doesn’t look bad momma! I lost HUGE wads of hair, like tightly balled up the size of a golf ball every other day. Every time I showered I had to look in the mirror to make sure I had any left on my head! 😂 But it settled down by 6 months pp.
How are you feeling, mentally and emotionally? I didn’t have PPD with my 8 year old daughter but my son is 18 months and I’m still battling it.
I’ve loved watching you blossom in motherhood. You’ve never looked more radiant! Motherhood suits you beautiful 😍🥰

Thank you for talking about moving on from negative thought cycles. I’ve been in a deep one for the past few years after a relationship ended traumatically. Because I didn’t have any closure, I felt like I couldn’t move on. It still doesn’t feel okay completely but when I think back at who I was then, I try to congratulate myself on how much stronger I am now.

wow. i really needed this. i've been coming to the same conclusion recently re: not torturing myself by reliving shitty situations and not letting it go because i can't get past how unfair it was. it's an anchor keeping me stuck, and ultimately i'm punishing myself over and over again for something that was bad enough to experience the first time. thanks for sharing. ps your baby is adorable

Hi Julia, Honor is a precious little doll baby. I am much older than you and probably most of your subscribers here but menopause has caused me to have lots of hair loss. I am sorry the collegian didn’t agree with digestive system but I definitely think your on the right track taking a good women’s multivitamin and the biotin. My New Years resolution would be to try and practice more gratitude. Love, and Blessings to both you and Nick.

My hair loss after pregnancy lasted for around 5 to 6 months. I was so young, (19) and had no idea what was happening. It just happens and I promise you won't go bald. It is frustrating, though.

Can't believe how much she's grown!!!
Also, do you have any issues with your cats smothering the baby or laying on her face or doing anything concerning? I have a cat that I LOVE but I am worried she will do these things to the baby - I've heard horror stories! I am due in April.

The story at the end resonated so much with me! Had a few negative things in my life come up lately that feel like they've just pushed to the very forefront of my mind despite my best efforts. I find talking about them and thinking about them to be really unhelpful cuz I just relive the negativity. It's refreshing to hear you've had a similar insight. Thanks so much and happy new year ❤️💕❤️

I lost so much hair after having my son ! So freaky, yeah ! My doctor gave me iron because I leak this. It has been better after about 3 to 6 month, I don't remember precisely (it was near 4 years ago). Stay strong, this time will pass 😉😘

Wise words. A lot of times we choose to let something consume us when we don’t have to. One thing I’m learning as I’m getting older, I CAN chose joy and 90% of the time, that is 100% within my control.

I’ve been watching you for years and this story and what u said after really hit home! A major even happened to me almost 2 years ago and it was the best thing that could of happen and ever since then I go thru my day thinking positive and always look at the positive in life but there were moments where it was hard for me to let go! But I had to learn to let go because it’s not gonna change anything and where I am at today is for the best! Everything happens for a reason and I continue to believe that everyday! I love your videos thank you

Hand fulls of my hair came out post partum. My hair thinned way beyond where it was before pregnancy.
I was told it's because I had a traumatic birth. It lasted for 3 months for me. I struggled for 2 years after that with my hair because it was never as nice again.
I changed hair dressers and she had me on biotin and vitamin E. Also upped my protein intake. She also had me use a special shampoo and conditioner and hair leave in treatment to avoid breakage. Finally after 3.5 years I have my hair back!

Very interesting insight, and i totally agree. My first year at university I was immediately friends with this lovely girl, but she unfortunately killed herself like three months after school started. Her death was a quite a shock obviously but at the same time, I didn't feel like a knew her well enough to grieve as much as the people who knew her more. I didn't feel legitimate enough to talk about how it actually had affected me and after at least 10years, I finally realized how this terrible incident that I had locked inside, completely ate me up.

That's not much hair, I expected to see a lot more. I've been trying to figure out my hair loss with my doctors with no luck. It might just be age. But collagen has helped me a lot, its growing back now. Hope you find your solution. Just wanted you let you know that it wasn't a lot at all, I would wish for that little after a shower. ♡
Edit: a normal days hair loss for everyone is 100 hairs. I would guess yours was much less than you think, especially because you have long hair, hair is so deceiving. All the best!

My baby is currently 10 months old, and my PP hair loss lasted for about 4 months. I had to wear it up in a bun because I could pull out chunks at any time and I was so scared of it wrapping around baby’s fingers. Now I have the crazy baby bangs, which are growing in gray and bright red, so I guess I’m a red head now lol.

Red light therapy is proven to work very well for hair growth. I’ve been using one for my face (not even my scalp) and my eyebrows are growing like crazy when they are usually sparse. I’ve changed nothing in my diet, so I know it’s the red light. It’s worth looking into :)
