- Showing what's inside the box when you buy a Dobinsons Panhard Rod from Exit Offroad. This panhard rod, also sometimes referred to as a track bar, is for a variety of Toyota and Lexus SUV's including 4th and 5th Gen 4Runner, FJ Cruiser, Prado 120 and 150, Lexus GX470 and GX460.
A panhard rod keeps the rear axle centered between the frame and body of the vehicle, whilst the 4 link rear end (2 upper and lower control arms per side) keep the axle centered in the wheel well. When a vehicle is lifted, the axle shifts over to one side due to the panhard rod only being a fixed length. This causes the rear end to be out of alignment and not track down the road correctly. Adding a Dobinsons adjustable heavy duty panhard rod will allow you to recenter the axle properly, as well as beefing up that link for heavy offroad use.

Will these work for KDSS? Most with exception of Sonoran hit the KDSS bracket during full droop
Clearance all depends on rear shock length. If the shocks are too long, the stock one can even hit. The Dobinsons GS59-701 are the longest that can fit with just enough clearance to the stock panhard rod. Yes, these can work as a HD replacement with the adjuster set to the frame end, but you will not gain travel. It would only be to have a heavier duty panhard and to re-center the axle, and with KDSS, I don't suggest 3" of lift or more anyway due to limitations by the piston, and the lean that the car can get. It's usually only 3" or more of lift that a 4runner would need to re-center the axle.
I had one fitted with a 4 inch lift but where the two nuts are I can wriggle the pan hard bar a little bit sort of feels like it’s on it last thread? It should be tight with no movement hey? I had a shop do the work
Yes that's right. They must not have tightened it down correctly
What is the biggest notable diffrent on the ride if I install these on a lifted fj cruiser?
Just correcting the rear alignment and softening it up a little with a longer panhard rod
Can we assume these will fit a 100 series as well?
Unfortunately it won't fit. Dobinsons don't offer a panhard rod for the 100 series. They have a unique bushing size different from the 80 and 200 series
Can it be used on a 5th gen 4runner TRD Pro at stock hieght?
Yes it can
Is this useful for non kdss or mainly used on kdss?
That's mostly used on non KDSS vehicles lifted 2.5" or more
