    • @LowCountryHarleyDavidson
      @LowCountryHarleyDavidson  3 роки тому +2

      There is some thought that a brake could drag and have some input to front end.....more likely "high speed" has more to do with wobble...Doc

    Any info about centering the disc to wheel and radius runout,the disc doesn't fit hub snug or bolts won't center it,I used tapered centering pins but have lots of runout but not side to side like you are set up to check,I can find nothing on subject

    That strap placement is not going to do squat if that bike goes over. It will just slide down the engine guard.

    I had a 2015 Street 750. Jacked up the bike to clean the wheels. Started spinning the rear tire. Before I wet the wheel. Heard a Squeak. Dealership Writer heard the noise over the phone. I also recorded it with my phone. Stopped making the noise when I took to the shop the next day. Played the video to the mechanic. He shakes the rear wheel. NPF.

    So Doc, i have a question. How often should a cable clutch on an 2014 FLHTP be replaced? I had heard that because of all the hard riding we do and the demands we put on the bikes that the cable should be replaced about every 5 years? Thoughts

    • @ChasCrewChief
      @ChasCrewChief 4 роки тому +2

      Jose' A nice preventive maintenance question. I have not tracked a clutch cable life. With proper maintenance which include cleaning and lube, a cable can last over 5 years. But of coarse where the bike lives ie outside or in. In the desert or swamp plays a big part. Most of the time it comes down to “feel”. Easy to pull or not

    • @josea5949

      Thank you for the info

    • @nathanphillips3640
      @nathanphillips3640 4 роки тому +2

      If it is a OEM original clutch cable and being a 2014 FLHTP it should never need any lube on the cable , Harley Davidson started using a cable that had the steel core wrapped in a teflon type coating. If you or your service technician used any lube on it will cause the teflon coating to swell and make the cable pull excessively harder. We have replaced many clutch cables at my dealership on bikes that backyard butchers have lubed.It was the late 2000's when the cables were changed.

      10,000 miles is low for a 2012. Ask to see the service records. Buying used can be OK if you do your research. Buying new comes with a 2 year warranty. ~ Doc

      @@LowCountryHarleyDavidson Doc! I would like to know, I am very low rear oil brakes and practically almost finish the front oil brakes in the brakes tanks. My bike is a sportster 2017. Bought it on mid 2018 practically new and all filled up. I didn't change the brakes oil because wasn't necessary and because the bike has only less than 5000 km. What I want to do is just fill the brakes oil dot 4 original harley davidson for my sportster without bleeding her our. The oil color still clear. BUT Can I actually just fill the oil at this point? I searched around but if the oil is almost finish and it's not darken that much is that all so bad? Let me know if it''s a big deal please. Thanks
