Mako 360's rock, only have one between my bikes but have swapped it between the bikes and totally feel that difference. Things that allow me to ride longer without feeling tired are good, I remember how my hands used to feel on my '03 KTM non-counterbalanced paint-shaker :).
Lance at XC Gear us the best. He helped me correctly install a 360 that was hacked on a used bike I bought.
THE BEST
The MAKO 360s are awesome and so are the folks who make them. Lance helped me work out a way to put them on 2 bikes that they didn't even have kits for (2001 YZ250 and 1996 XR400R). They work perfectly! I'm glad you keep revisiting the topic so more riders can hear about them, Morgan.
Totally. They are the best
I was hesitant to spend that much on a bar clamp and I have to say it's some of the best money I've ever spent on my bike, my hands would get numb from typical 2 stroke vibration and the Mako has all but eliminated that, an aftermarket upgrade that actually works imagine that.
Stoked you tried it. That is what everyone experiences
I am beyond excited I picked up a 23 300rr race and love it to death the last bike I owned was an 09 yz450 bought new so it’s been a min and I have a bum wrist “clutch hand” and I did hrs or research on the mako, flex bars, stabilizers, that little shox tuned damper thingy I’d run all the above of if I could so seeing you on a 24 300rr will be especially exciting for me you’ll be my Guinea pig for testing parts thinking about getting a new twin spark 300rr in the spring for my next bike.
I was a Flexx Bar user for years and went to Mako. I like it a lot better and I can use whatever bars I want.
Amen
Love mine, vibration better on the yz250. Most noticeable the day after my wrists are way less sore. Just waiting for a barpad, even with the chest protector took my breath away when I smashed it, couldn't image hitting your chin on it... I know they're working on one though.
I have a Mako 360 on my 300xc. It was on the bike when I bought it. I never gave it much thought until I watched this video today. Last weekend I rode with my son, and switched bikes for a bit. It’s a CRF250x. Anyhow, I had to stop after a bit because my hands were starting to get the pins and needles feeling. Not a good feeling. We switched back and all was good. I do have arthritis in both wrists and I’m an immature 49 years old.
Heck yeah. I tell people that all the time. Ride my bike and then get back on yours to feel the difference
Love my mako and great company.. I do think they should make the dually standard on all models.. just call it mako360 2.0 also I do think for the money it should come with all the elastomers so you can fine tune without having to spend another 150.00! But I realize small company/niche market
I run the mako with the GPS mount top clamp. Great stuff! I need to try the purple polymers like you suggest, still get arm pump with the orange
Paid 350 for the set on my new sherco. Love em.
Make a vid about that 70 degree 'Berg in your shop!
Glad to see your knee is getting better but most of all glad to see you are beginning the road to recovery from the KTM disease. 2 years from now you will have no Ktm's and a family fleet of Beta's.
hahaha
I'm betting on the one year anniversary of owning the Beta video titled "why I'm selling my 24 race edition Beta and how it doesn't stack up"
@@onthethrottle7104 😂🤣
Speaking of the new Beta 300RR...AWESOME bike BTW and I'm looking at that as my next bike as well. I was just checking the specs and came across a very interesting one.........GROUND CLEARANCE. So, I have a 2023 KTM SX-F 350. I'm 5'8" 27" inseam NEEDED more confidence with footing when in the rough stuff, and so had I had my KTM suspension guy do a Kouba 1" lowering link (and I raised the forks in the clamps a bit). Now...... many people gave me a hard time about losing ground clearance (amongst all the other BS about destroying the bike's geometry etc etc etc) if I'm riding trails/woods/enduro telling me it was a HUGE mistake as I NEED that clearance. Well, interestingly enough, I just happen to check the Beta 300RR Race and the stock ground clearance is 12.6".....the stock ground clearance on my KTM is 14.1", so let's do the math....14.1" -1" = 13.1"......I'm now at 13.1" ground clearance which is still half inch MORE CLEARANCE than a bike that top Italian engineers designed specifically for enduro! So, in closing I'd like to tell everyone who gave me a hard time to "SUCK IT!!!" (not directed at anyone on this channel at all...this is in case one of those chumps happens to stop by here) 😂😂😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😁😁😁😁😁😁❗❗❗❗❗❗
Hahaha. That’s awesome. I love telling people to suck it! It’s your bike, do what you want/need.
@@highlandcycles haha. You're the one who convinced me! Before I lowered the bike (BTW, I also have a -20mm low Guts foam seat......was hoping that would give me enough at first, unfortunately not) I was already not looking forward to riding and that right there is a big problem. When you don't have footing in rough stuff, you fall so much more and it becomes discouraging real quick (considering one fall from 2 mph, I smashed my elbow on a massive rock and it killed for two weeks!....I now have elbow guards!) As you've said, if it makes you want to ride more, do it. Not to mention, I'm an intermediate rider (rode my entire life, just took off about 15 years and getting back in) so at my ability, I would NEVER EVER notice any bike characteristic changes all because it's lowered 1". Not only that Rocky Mountain has a vid with Chase putting on a Ride Engineering lowering link on his personal bike to get rid of stink bug. Nobody told him he just completely ruined his bike....right? LOL Rant over! hahaha
Cody webb also runs them. Hes one of the baddest dudes in America on a dirt scooter
Amen
I keep resisting these for some odd reason, yet have tried other things that do what these do. Maybe after I burn thru my Luxon mount, I will try these on my 24 300RX.
They are the best. I’ve tried them all.
I’d really like to try them. I want to want them. But I’ve never felt the NEED for them. And they’re really expensive for something you just aren’t on fire about. I’m 6’3” and the bars being a pinch higher would be nice but they aren’t really for that. Like I said I’d really like to just try a set. Lol.
Come ride my bike
I'm 6"5" and with their proprietary risers, they work great for me! They gave me the ability to ride longer with significantly less pain/fatigue (I'm 55 years medium). I have them on 2 bikes.
I love mine
Do you have a preference with top triple clamp style? KTM offers solid mount (XCW) or the rubber cone style (SX & XC)
No. Because when I put the mako 360 on it’s a solid mount no matter which one.
Would love one but very hard to get hold of in the UK any ideas
I would call Lance Directly at XC Gear. I can make it happen.
How do the std individual perches twist if the upper is one piece connecting them?
Great question but they do. Takes a hit but they basically make a parallelogram. It is because of the polymers and a little give in the holes
I thought it was an auto painting place open all year except for 5 days.
Huh??
Did i miss the highlight of the cool "Highland Cycles" engraving on the clamp? Haters gonna hate....will see if they are still riding at an advanced age.
I also need to get me that Mako SX 360 as I'm a fragile, beaten up 50 yr old !!!
I feel ya
@@highlandcycles Sadly Morgan, I have about 4 years on you and I have to unfortunately report that it doesn't get any better! LMAO And I do BJJ and go to the gym 5 days a week.....(train weights and cardio)....and I STILL have aches and pains everywhere!
I’m curious as to how long the polymers last? Like how many hours?
XC Gear website has info about all the different polymers.
Agree with ridemfast. The softer ones wear out a little faster.
🤘
Has anybody tried the Urmosi 720 SBC Soft Bar Clamp?
I haven't
@@highlandcycles Dont see them much so wondering what they're like.
Urmosi is junk compared to Mako, not even in the same ball park.
👍👍
What the fook is the gold tube mounted on right fork tube, asking for a friend.
Its snake oil ! lol
CounterShox. Check out my other videos on them
It’s seems like a great design but sorry $509 + $70 for that piece is crazy
I hear ya. But if you ride with one you’ll understand
especially if you have preexisting injuries in your hands or wrists I can only speak on the flexx bars and for me they made a significant improvement in comfort and reduced the pain from Sharp impacts to my wrist all the bones in my wrist fused themselves thanks to the genetic lottery haha
Biggest waste of $550.00 for a virtually insignificant gain in “comfort”….
Completely disagree and so do a ton of amazing riders.
I don't own one but every rider I've ridden with that does swears by them and puts them on every one of their bikes, that tells me a lot.
@@onthethrottle7104 yep. And when people like Ryan Sipes and Travis Pastrana run them, that means a lot too.
Don’t think I can run my Scott’s with that unit
You can, he makes a top mount for Scott
Yes. You can.
On my 701 you certainly can!
Yes you can
It's funny you mentioned the snowflake comment. It seems most of the people calling people snowflakes are the biggest snowflakes! Lol true
100%
First again!
