It's great around big ships like the C2, but can actually slow things down in smaller ships and even make it harder to load properly. I'm debating melting mine. In the Taurus you are better off just using the tractor turret. The only small ship I have that it sorta works ok in is the C1 oddly enough. And it has it's own little area to park in.
I agree, the tractor beam on the Taurus is faster than using the Atls. Plus you don’t lose the 4 SCU footprint the Atls takes. The Taurus’ tractor beam can be made more manageable by pressing Q, where it enters ‘mouse mode’. Pressing shift will zoom in your view, which will make placing boxes a bit easier. And of course press left Alt when scrolling the mouse wheel to move the box depth wise. I decided to keep my Raft though, as loading it up with three 32 SCU boxes is very easy with just the handheld tractor rifle. It’s just a great ship with en enormously large quantum tank, thus range will never be an issue. The only ship in which the Atls really shines imho is the Hercules. That’s a great combo, if you want/need a larger ship. Cheers o7
