The Archetypes deck is maybe my favourite of the Kim Krans decks (out of the ones I have at least; I don't have the Alchemy one, but it is on my wishlist!). It is sooooooo dense though! I have the full size version and it's very worth it, there's a lot of detail in the artwork and in the book. I do use it fairly often, but mostly for myself (not so much with clients). I love circular decks (maybe it's just a novelty thing?), very nice to have in the collection.
Magickal Botanical is in a similar boat honestly, I mostly use it for myself because I love the artwork so much. I think the correspondences on the cards are really useful (they all have symbols for elements and planets), but I definitely have to refer to the booklet every time I use it, because I don't intuitively understand all of the plants in it. It works really great for personal readings and for spellwork (because of those handy correspondences).
    I would def recommend both!

Aahhhh thank you for your perspectives, I love how detailed they both are. The archetypes was definitely the first of the Kim Krans decks to really grab me and I’ve only heard good things about it. I love learning about the astrological correspondences of plants (but didn’t get on with the herbal astrological oracle) so the Magickal Botanical is really calling to me for that exact reason!

Omg I have a wishlist in Notion with almost the exact same format lol 😂 I'm seeing so many good (and tempting!) decks in your list ✨ The one at 19:21 has been on my mind for a bit... It certainly is very intricate and beautiful! Thanks for sharing, this was fun to watch 😊💚

Yesss Notion buddies haha! The Thousand and One Nights deck is stunning, intricate is definitely the word, I feel like I could really get lost in the imagery. Thank you for being here 💕

The stories are so good, and I think the idea that you could save your life by talking/storytelling was a really wonderful idea to chatty / story obsessed baby Imogen!

Really enjoyed hearing your thoughts 😊 though my botanical knowledge is quite limited, the idea of a botanical deck does appeal to me, I just don't think I've found a right match yet 🤓

Thank you so much for watching! I love botanical art so much, I have done a fair bit of herbalism study, but truly it’s just an art style that really captures me, but they are elusive! Do let me know if you find one you connect with 🌱

I would not be able to help you with this, I am a terrible enabler 😭😭
I have the Floriography book! I need to sit down and really absorb all the associations for fun, but most of the time I just pull it out when I am doing art involving flowers and want to add flower language

I’m the same way haha! Ooh yeh the Floriography book is so beautiful, I love her art and I’ve always been fascinated by the language of flowers, it’s so tempting!

Nice list! I have a comparable Notion for tracking decks I already own / have in my collection. My wishlist is on paper. I have a few of these -- Dirt Gems is amazing. The book is so supportive. I like Arcana of Astrology a lot, and Ink Witch is a good reader. Archetypes (I have the big one) I've struggled a bit with and I do think the mini would be more manageable; I basically keep it for one specific card that feels special, and don't use it a ton except for single card draws. I would totally watch an Etsy video!

Yay Notion buddy! I also have one for my collection! I used to keep a paper wishlist but found I would lose track or want to take things off and then back on and it ended up too messy haha.
I think Dirt Gems might be top of my list, I love the way the creator writes, supportive absolutely feels like the right word for it.
I will keep your stamps of approval in mind for the Arcana of Astrology and Ink Witch because I feel like we have similar tastes and priorities.
Yeh I do think the big Archetypes is too unwieldy, so I’m a bit torn about what to do (what a terrible concern to have haha), can I ask which card? I think it’s such a cool deck/concept.
I will pencil in an Etsy video! Thank you for being here ✨

Videos like this are such a guilty pleasure for me x) Would the book Creative Tarot will scratch any of your tarot & creativity itches? I’m curious what is different about Tarot for Creativity compared to that one.
Ink Witch is gorgeous! I briefly had it (before it blew up on UA-cam, heh), and sadly didn’t connect with it. There were too many various themes in the deck (historical, mythological, modern) that didn’t vibe together for me, personally.
I saw Tom Benjamin’s recent blog post doing a reading with the Awakening Tarot, and am fascinated! I’m veryy subconsciously picky about what “weird” decks I like, and somehow that one is speaking to me! It’s on my wishlist as well.
I JUST bought the Storyteller’s Tarot in store last week! I opened it while at dinner with my friend, and we were both just in love with the art. The creator/artist is an animator for various networks & TV shows, & the art definitely feels “alive.” I love the character designs so much. According to the guidebook, the Trojan Horse in the 5 of Cups represents something like “it’s okay to be disappointed that things didn’t turn out the way you hoped” (which is definitely an understatement in the actual story of the Trojan Horse, lol). The Lady of the Lake represents the Empress because she raised Lancelot & bestowed the sword to Arthur (I’m not too familiar with these stories personally). Totally understandable if you don’t vibe with it though.

Now this, this is the standard of comment that brings a tear to my eye. You came with serious notes and I could weep with joy.
I had totally forgotten about The Creative Tarot, and am now so curious to know what the differences are, I wonder if this new one is more writing based? Further research necessary.
I can totally see how having so many themes could make a deck too hectic to connect with, I feel like I might struggle with that too. I missed it on TarotTube first time around but I’m going to have to watch some videos of it now.
Ooh I’ll have to read that blog post! It’s so intriguing and definitely speaks to me more than her other decks. I’m absolutely with you on being picky about weird decks, I’m very specific but I don’t think I could exactly put my finger on how to define my taste.
You are really selling the Storyteller’s Tarot, I love that the creator is an animator that’s so cool, and I love the variety of stories in the deck. That’s such a hilarious read on the five of cups and the Trojan horse, I kind of love that. And that makes the lady of the lake make much more sense thank you, I thought she might fit the high priestess better but I like that. Hmmmm, maybe it’s staying on the list then!
You’re the best, thank you for being here ✨

@@SaplingTarot I am so honored to win Imogen’s Best Comment of the Minute award 😂 jkjk
Tom Benjamin has been posting some really in-depth blog posts about dissecting tarot spreads! I read Lesson 5 (iirc?) which was dissecting a spread where 3 Kings showed up, and then followed it and did a reading for myself. It was so fascinating. And so big brain 😂
Glad I could help provide context for the Storyteller’s Tarot! Yeah, the Trojan Horse + that statement is comical LOL (I love comical). Apparently the High Priestess here is Saraswati, Hindu goddess of creative arts, knowledge, learning, & wisdom. There’s so much to explore in the deck, even with the pips without backgrounds! (Also, “this artist really said ‘fuck backgrounds’ and I agree” cracked me up!)

I need to get better at keeping up to date with people’s blogs, that sounds so good and something I could really use an outside perspective on, I had a reading like that come up at an event in the spring and it still haunts me.
Definitely reframing the Trojan Horse as “a bit of a pickle” in my brain from now on hahaha. And I love Saraswati as the High Priestess, that’s a really cool choice. You’ve definitely secured the deck’s place on the list!
