- Finally, the new DJ app from rekordbox is available on IOS! In this video, we test out the features in this performance mix on the new rekordbox app using the DDJ-FLX4 controller.

It’s a super easy way to access all your cue points from your existing rekordbox library to an app basically and have some fun. It will grow more in features. Why are so many DJ’s always so bitter. Enjoy new tech and have a little bit of fun. Using my flx4 and sitting at kitchen table on iPad and yorkville exm 8. No power cords. Having a blast. That’s what this is all about. More ways to dj whenever / wherever.

1) When I connect ipad through Bluetooth the sound goes through IPad and not to the speakers.
2) And when I connect with cable, the IPad does not recognize the FLX4.
What can I do to get sound in the speakers PLEASE???

Hi everything works perfect (with the latest firmware of the FLX4) - expect the sound comes only out of the smartphone and 'not 'out of the speakers; I'm as usual connected to the speakers. Is there an adjustment to get sound out od the speakers when connected in bluetooth mode with your phone / tablet?
Same issue here, usb connection won’t work, loop buttons keep on blinking and device won’t charge, audio is output on the iPad instead of the flx4

I understand. I had a similar feeling when I used my first DJ controller (DDJ-RB with a Core 2 Duo processor and 4GB of RAM). There was also the same lag present. It's usable and you can get used to it, but it's kind of funny to have this experience in 2023.

It doesn't matter what you use. Don't be biased. You can see that the waveform does not emerge in time, there is a delay in the sound even after the pads has been struck .It wouldn't behave like that over a cable.

Whatsoever. 😂if you open your eyes you can see the ipad is connected via a red usb cable, watch the videos and youll see that red cable leading to the back of the controller… 😅 hes connected via a cable and there is literly no lag shown at all😅 what are you talking about “delay”🤣

Hey. So you can use the RB IOS app free of charge on your phone but every now and again you will get pop ups. If you are wanting to use your iPad for DJing you will need the RB software and you will need a subscription. They are 2 different things... a bit confusing!

It is not hardware unlocked. Pioneer wants us to pay subscription for key selling points of FLX 4. I am disappointed with the app and the company
Unfortunately you are kind of right. It is a different app to actual RB software. You can use it for free but you will get regular pop ups.

It's free, but like most apps, there is a paid subscription tier that unlocks more functionality.

The way I understand it, only class compliant ones, i.e. not the DDJ 800 or 1000, probably not the FLX10 either. Same thing Algoriddim has been doing for years, now let's see a Rekordbox Mobile vs. Djay Pro Ai comparison!

I dont think it will ever be. Android tablets are crap compared to iPads.
@@matrixplace I'd be using a Galaxy Ultra, personally can't deal with tablets. Too many limitations regardless of brand/proprietary software.

I wouldn't touch the Bluetooth if you're worried about delay. Looks like a standalone all in one unit now (RX3 etc), only the BPM counter is less accurate than the full software (like some CDJs). If it's not showing the full pitch % still it could be an issue. On the CDJs you still could see the 'full' pitch output, so if you only needed a little tweak by ear, you can see how far you've moved it. Doing it by ear & guess work gets a pain in the a*rse as it's not quite the same with digital gear as with 1210s, the pitch adj is a little stiffer. You can give a little movement & you've shovelled it 3 or 4 clicks.
I know most newer generations all use sync anyway but, some of us don't.

To be honest I’m very disappointed. I have a DDJ-1000 and my laptop is getting old. I was really looking forward to the iPad version of rekordbox to replace my laptop by an iPad to have a XDJ-XZ style setup but sadly it’s only compatible with entry level controllers and it looks very features limited.
I thought we would get a real competitor to Djay Pro AI but Rekordbox looks to still be far behind

100% agree with you, very disappointed too. Spent thousands of dollars in Pioneer gear these last 10 years, still waiting for a fully compatible rekordbox on mobile/tablet, with all the bells and whistles like DVS, etc. Only to discover they finally did it, but not compatible with their own flagship controllers. What a let down
@@LucasLLani I would have liked it to be compatible with all rekordbox controllers and fully featured (4 decks, stems, DVS ect…) exactly like the MacOS version. If Djay Pro AI can, Pioneer can also do it

Algoryddims DJ Pro und App Version sind tausend mal besser mehr moglichkeiten vor allem Visuals auf Beamer oder Monitor möglich Pioneer muss noch viel mehr tun so leider kein kauf.
But for the moment can’t beat Algoriddim Djay Pro AI🤓
