I have followed Kempower for some time now and feel very excited. I'm a software engineer and EV driver. I hope to see more Kempower chargers out there. The concepts look very promising. Unfortunately I have not seen any of them here in Germany, but I am sure they will come soon. The compact design and smart power distribution result in good user experiences. Also this fleet management is a great opportunity to smooth the grid keeping in mind the volatility of renewable energy. Thank you for your work, and keep going. Kiitos.
Fleet management sounds just the right thing to do! 1) It's really shame that one has to optimize also for the peak power usage, because of wind power. Or perhaps the wind is never for a few hours only but for a longer period, so, you can utilize wind power maximally when it is available. Also electricity companies have different parameters for tehomaksu: Helen has only 1 month window, Lahti 3 months. Thus, this penalizes your optimization differently, depending on region. 2) Kempower is the only entity that could have control over a large fleet of chargers. Perhaps there would be other types of environmental indicators for co2 reduction than just the electricity price? These indicators align with price, but price is not always in the equation (depending). Thus, Kempower has the trolley problem here ;) Perhaps you can develop indicators for customers (cumulative co2 saved / wind energy used), yourself (an inspirational metric against your values at least), or electricity companies (virtual battery as a service)? 3) Goals: Wind/solar power usage maximization, fossil production minimization. Electricity SPOT-price might be the best proxy for these, but not perfect and not available always, due to customer electricity contract or usage preference/neglect. Yet, you can optimize for these goals. =)

Thanks for your comment & support, we appreciate it! 🙏
Excellent work Mikko and people who did this video! More of this, less of coffee drinking videos please. 😉🙏🏼🥰

Oh, fleet management is also interesting, if you would want to minimize the time the battery charge levels at 80%, for their longevity 😄
Thanks for your comment! Our system supports minimizing the battery charge levels 80 % (or the level the org wishes to set as thresholds) 😊
