UA-cam is full of videos that shows me how to build models using expensive tools and expensive pigments/washes/technics then here comes you and show us what this hobby is truely about. Grab a brush, and start to build. Don't get me wrong I really love those advanced technics but damn good to see you using basic tools. Really nice work! You made me want to put my airbrush aside for a short time and paint something with normal brush like I use to do when I was a kid. Thanks for the inspiration. Welcome back, Owen!
Looking very good! I love the different shades you used - i might have to borrow that technique next time. I left my Cromwell in a "pristine" condition as i've got other plans for mine (which will come to fruition on my channel at some point!). Looking forward to your next build!
This track design gets a big "thumbs up" from me too! I was so pleased with the design, fit and finish of this model that I bought two more. I hope this represents the kind of quality we can expect from Airfix in the future. Thanks to you for another superb video!
You've made a good job of it. I found yhe rear drive sprockets a bit of a tight fit, but it works out. The Airfix Cromwell really is a fantastic kit. The plastic moulded tracks really are a game changer as regards small scale armour. The detail on that kit is astonishing.
just got this kit today so wanted to make sure i knew the best way to put it together, this was a really good guide and i’m really glad it didn’t have any super advanced techniques! 😅🙏 (update: finished it a while back! first time ever using decals and i think it looks great for a first full build!)
It’s nice to see what you can do with the basic tools and paints. I think you’re pushing it to the limit, well done! I completed this kit myself, and agree 100% - very nice kit, and the moulded tracks are brilliant. One tip: Microscale Micro Set works very well with Airfix decals, I got mine on top with no issues, and it really “sunk in”, even more than yours. Thumbs up!
I just finished that kit! My changes were replacing the barrel with brass rod, and leaving off the allied star, as mine broke! Nice kit. Great build too!
Great build Owen! It is nice to see you building again. I built this kit too and did a review as well and I found it to be a lot of fun to make. I wish Airfix had used the same type of plastic track on the Porsche Tiger model as this would have made it an excellent kit. Thanks for sharing this.
In the span of time between this video and Owens last video I have acquired an airbrush, changed paint types, acquired a riveter, got 22 new model kits and began building dioramas
Good vid. Just a tip about getting decals to conform to uneven surfaces: spray gloss varnish over the decal and it effectively 'melts' the decal into whatever is underneath. It can be a fine line between applying enough to perfectly 'melt' onto the shape and too much which makes it bubble, but I've done the latter accidentally before and it just gave a worn decal which looked already weathered, once dried of course. Hope that helps
I like your post shading after the base is down. I like to do opposite because of the weathering techniques I use but it's always funt o see a different approach.
Hello Owen. Nice to see you again. I really missed your videos. I like your simple and friendly techniques for building model kits. I am not a fan of tanks. I only built one in 1/72 Esci brand tank about 30 years ago and I remember model paints were not available in my country at that time so had to use house latex paints custom mixed and thined with water. I remember the tracks in that kit gave a hard time because they were made with vinyl plastic and it was breaking in pieces. I had to use very thin wire and kind of sew it. After seeing your Airfix tank build. I will buy one and try it out. I got a tooned tank from Meng to build first. Do more videos please.
Welcome back Owen. Great build and a great simple tutorial, you're really the top UA-cam Channel that teaches people that everybody can make a model look great with a brush alone.
Excellent video; never come across your channel before but UA-cam recommends does it again :) I have this kit in my stash and now I'm excited to get it started! Thanks again, subscribed and bell dinged...
Fantastic build & Video Owen! Great paint job on this kit BTW. It is so awesome to see a major scale modelling channel achieving great things with a humble paint brush. Keep up the great work!
Noticed your Models for Heroes cutting mat 😀. Micro sol & set or the Mr Mark will sort out that turret decal. And to be fair, they’re not anymore expensive than decal fix. Nice build.
Made this kit myself and loved it. Unfortunatly, most of the airfix tank kits i find are 'vintage classic' and because of the glossy green or tan plastic they're harder to paint
Pleasant to see you again Owen, though I still don't know how to do brush painting(mainly on the model) like you always do😅😆 But anyway nicely done kit as always👍😁
Im glad to hear warm soapy water with a splash of vinegar again
Firefly Z89 so your a bandit main huh
Still need to change it to Kapkan I'm to lazy to aim so traps can do my job for me
Lovely concise, no-nonsense build video

Yeah.... Fun fun fun when I was a kid
That means a lot dude, thanks for your comment and I'm very pleased that the video's inspiring :)
The only UA-camr that doesn't use an airbrush. Huge respects.

🙌
Oh yes it's all coming together.
Great to see you build a model again!
The smoothness of this video is so immensely pleasing.
The legend's back ladies and gents
Lovely, concise, no-nonsense build video.
A hobby centred UA-cam channel that doesn't spend 90% of it's time asking you to subscribe? A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one.

Just simple tools and techniques used in a thoughtful and effective manner. Glad to see you back and looking forward to the next video.
It’s a really therapeutic video I really like the tank and carry on modelling
This track design gets a big "thumbs up" from me too! I was so pleased with the design, fit and finish of this model that I bought two more. I hope this represents the kind of quality we can expect from Airfix in the future. Thanks to you for another superb video!
When you start modelling and mini painting after a years break and owen starts making videos again. :)
I've gotten a Airfix Cromwell Tank model about three years ago and waiting to build the kit together, thanks for uploading this Owen you're the best.
You've made a good job of it. I found yhe rear drive sprockets a bit of a tight fit, but it works out.
The Airfix Cromwell really is a fantastic kit. The plastic moulded tracks really are a game changer as regards small scale armour. The detail on that kit is astonishing.
I bought this product, is my first model and i can't wait to build it
Great video, none of the super expensive gadgets needed, just a bit of skill and patience.

Glad to see you back modelling. Excellent finish. The colour modulation definitely works.
Great final result.

What an excellent return
Thanks dude! :)
The two giants, quick kits and model minutes, are reunited!
The return of the king
This reminds me of your boulton defiant build because of its minimalism, yet the results are just as good. It's good to have you back
Great modulation Owen. Shows what can be done with just a brush and paint. 👏
Good to see you back, what’s next??
I just finished that kit!
My changes were replacing the barrel with brass rod, and leaving off the allied star, as mine broke!
Nice kit.
Great build too!
Really enjoy these quick kit videos and seeing how you ‘pimp’ them up a bit 👍
Nicely done. I built this model a while ago but struggled with the sprocket because of flash between the teeth. The track is a great idea.
Thank you for making another video Owen. You just made my day!
Great to see you again!

This was my first model I built which was a starter kit
That’s a great video. I hope you are thinking about releasing more content sometime soon.
In the span of time between this video and Owens last video I have acquired an airbrush, changed paint types, acquired a riveter, got 22 new model kits and began building dioramas
Got further than him then 😂
Fantastic !!!! Top Result!!!! Without Airbrush!
I like this very much!!!!
Very nice built Model,
Greatings from Germany,
Jörg Jung
Glad your back
I just love it!
Finally a video on a tank.
Nice to see you back doing video's Owen!!
I've made this kit and it's great as you say the bits fit together really well and I've made mine into a diorama :D
Good to see you back at it again !
Great to see you back on track. Love the modulation effect.
Glad to see you back!
the legend is back
The king is back!
Glad to see you back Owen and thanks for the build review!

Well done. Great video of a neat little kit. Love the simple but effective weathering techniques - perfect for the subject.
I am dripping with anticipation for your next build.
Hey it's Owen! Great to see you back and hope to see you at SMW in November.
Hey it's great to see Quick Kits again! =))
I have this kit in my stash, and I'm thinking of building it as the memorial tank near Pegasus Bridge.
This is an outstanding idea.
@@rodjameson5926 Thank you. Unfortunately, I live on the wrong side of "The Pond," so all I have to work from is memories and Google Street view.
I really love watching your or plasmos videos to calm down after a stressfull day

We'll done Owen,.. really enjoyed it. The rivet's are screaming out for some shadow, .... maybe burnt umber oil paint? Can't wait for next one ☘️
Nice done! I think You paint with brush better than I with airbrush. Really good effect! ;)
Thank you very much sir! :D
Amazing job Owen! Well done.
Fantastic build & Video Owen! Great paint job on this kit BTW. It is so awesome to see a major scale modelling channel achieving great things with a humble paint brush. Keep up the great work!

Really good job on this one, glad to see you back.

Welcome back. Well worth the wait.
Our boy is back😢
A lot of nice little touches that really make the model come to life, well done :)
Also, welcome back :)
Pleasant to see you again Owen, though I still don't know how to do brush painting(mainly on the model) like you always do😅😆 But anyway nicely done kit as always👍😁
Thank you very much :D
Very good!👍
You can get great tank kits in 1:72 scale from IBG . For example new Crusader has the same trucks montage as Airfix Cromwell.
hell yeah anoda upload baby!
I might become one of your patrons
Aw thanks ❤️
You should build the Matilda by Tamiya next.
hi Owen, greetings from Brazil! I love this Chanel!
Hi Owen ... I´m happy you are back mate :-) ... cheers Make*
