How to Choose a Replacement Capacitor

This video describes how to replace a motor Start Capacitor and Run Capacitor on an air compressor motor, and also shows the specs you will need to find to replace the Capacitors.

HVAC techs can be the problem! They will often replace caps based on what they are carrying on their truck; not what the unit calls for! The units may run, but they may wear out sooner!
After educating myself on a/c electrics, I checked both my outdoor a/c compressor units and BOTH had incorrectly-rated caps.
I now have the correct replacements, plus spares and two replacement contactors - $120 for all four, off Amazon - about the price of a service call.
In future, I will always check things myself before calling a technician.

what capicator can be used to spin a 110v dc hair trimmer motor? my trimmer was plugged in the wrong current and the green board burn but the motor is vibrating when i attached it to 110v current

Have a question. I ordered a capicators. All the specs matched like 216-259UF 250vac 60hz +65°c
When i received the capicators they are smaller in size. Why is that? Will they work?

I put 50 mfd 44 0 volts in my furnace blower that uses 10 mfd 370 volts, It is running fine.But I ordered the exact one this is just temporary, Is it okay to use that higher mfd for now? Your response will be appreciated by the subscribers.

From what I've read up on this 370 to 440 is ok but the opposite will burn up the motor and the mfd should only be increased no more than 20 percent

It's a piece of cake when the old capacitor has everything written on it - HOW ABOUT DETERMINING WHAT SIZE DUAL CAPACITOR IS NEEDED WHEN THERE IS "NO DATA" ON THE OLD CAPACITOR?

@@mpachinko4069 you’re kinda screwed. Depending on what it’s being used on yiu might can use a 3-1. Unless you can download manual it may show the specs

Try the machine manufacturers.Give serial numbers etc .
