This is from late (october) 1996. I was there and it really was magic, so much so that the theme song from the Remember the Magic parade still touches me deep every time I hear it. Sad to see they won't have anything like that for the 45th anniversary.

Even if there’s a vaccine in time, it would still take a while to implement, and Disney can’t forbid antivaxxers from entering or requesting medical info. I also don’t think they have the budget to do what they wanted to do. They were already being tight during the 25th after the failure of EuroDisney and the addition of a 4th Park. I mean, they still use the mirrored castle 25th anniversary float in its parades, but I don’t even think they’ll have any parades at all. It would be a social distancing nightmare. Part of what made that daytime parade so magical was being able to interact and touch everything, holding strangers hands and all sorts of things we no longer can do today. Geez... ...I can’t even imagine what EPCOTs millennium celebration would have been like. ...”celebrate the future hand in hand”... “No touchy!”
@@UmmYeahOk even if Disney claims they don’t have money they can pull stuff out of the vault like old parades. Especially for all the new generations who love to be on Instagram with the latest picture. Classic sometimes always wins. But Chapek doesn’t understand that. Then again I can’t place all the blame on him, because who knows what the Disney board had planned
@@jodicorbin4497 well, so far it looks like they’re just going to be doing the calvacades, which is silly because in CA, where they have the most strictest COVID rules, they still managed to have Halloween parades. And the only way old floats can be reused is if they are properly stored and maintained. This is why that mirror castle float has lasted for so long and the Spectromagic floats had to be demolished. One received annual maintenance and care while the other didn’t. The golden camels in Adventureland were once part of a parade, as were the Lion King floats in the Festival of the Lion King. Everyone wanted to Remember the Magic, but if relics are neglected, and ravaged by time, they can’t be reused.

Which might actually impress him way more than a handshake from a 3 year old girl. I would have pointed at him, looked at my mom and said, "Roy Disney!" before he even introduced himself. He would have been like, "Well, hi! How do you know my name?". I'd have been like, "I have a Disney movie". I didn't talk a lot back then and those few words would have meant "I have a Disney VHS with you on it in the trailers in some way or form".
Plot twist: Kid is actually a time traveler. His last visit to the Magic Kingdom was during its 50th anniversary. You don’t shake hands in 2021. You elbow bump.
Next year is the 45th anniversary of Walt Disney World and the 40th anniversary of my favorite TV sitcom "The Muppet Show". That was really sweet of Kermit and Gonzo to make an appearance on that special. I'm super excited. Next year in January I'm going to turn 25

That was before they delayed the opening of Test Track multiple times. One of the first problems that Imagineers had to overcome with Test Track was that the wheels used on the ride vehicles could not stand up to the demand of the ride course and speed. This problem was resolved but a second, more critical issue caused the ride to be delayed by over a year. For Test Track to run with the highest hourly capacity possible, twenty-nine ride vehicles would be needed. The ride programming system could only handle operating a maximum of six cars over the layout of the ride, and the system suffered frequent software crashes. The original software was scrapped, and eventually programmers were able to get the computer system able to run twenty-nine ride vehicles at once.
I’m not really a fan of the Hunchback movie, but I believe that show is the best stage show that park has ever had. It was an insult to replace it with a Frozen Sing Along! I think my favorite part was the cast member who sung everything in sign language. I didn’t know those people could sing with their hands. It was amazing! Frozen would have had the hearing impaired read lyrics instead.

Also me at 3 years old... I would have started an hour long fight with half those kids for picking Phoebus for Esmerelda over Quasimodo. I didn't understand how much appearances could factor into compatibility for normal people... I was and still am an Aspie.

I love the Kermit and Gonzo part Classic Muppets but Chevy Chase seemed like he was drunk and only wanted a pay check.
He had already done a movie with Jonathan Taylor Thomas, so that’s the only reason I can think of for him being in this thing.
