I don't know who needs to read this but we are all going through tough and difficult times, Don't give up. You are here for a reason. You matter. Just don't give up whatever you're going through. I love you.
I know this is a year old, but today's father's day and I can't talk to my daughter because my ex wife won't answer the phone ,our daughters only 4. I almost cried reading this I feel so worthless lately and have been contemplating suicide honestly. But thanks whoever you are .
@takyc7883 calling it type B fun means that it may seem a little unpleasant at the time, who likes to slog through mud and be wet, but after it is over you tend to forget the unpleasantness and focus on the more fun aspects of it.
I normally camp in a tent, but last time I went I tried out my hammock. It poured. 2/5 tents were soaked, and the next day they tracked mud in the ones that weren't. I stayed completely dry the entire time. Going tomorrow for round 2. I'm praying it goes the same it's supposed to rain again.
Really enjoy your camping videos Brett .I grew up in Michigan and had to move to Ohio years ago for work.Up north Michigan is my favorite place to be.the Manistee area is really nice.thanks for the videos of Michigan Brett keep them coming.
This is another awesome video! I always enjoyed hearing the rain hit my tent. Using a hammock under a tarp definitely takes it to another level! Great idea, and as always, thanks for sharing!! Rick From Virginia
Brett, this was such a lovely camping video. Hammock camping is always the best 💕💕and it is great that you share 4k videos. I think 4k videos look much better and more realistic than 1080p, especially in nature!
Doesnt matter what you and Atlas do,where you go, whatever the weather; your videos, are very enjoyable! Look forward to the next one! Maybe it will be Spring in Michigan! 💪🍀🌳🌞🐕🚶♂️
Great vids you’re putting out shame about missing out on your egg but maybe next time if you know it’s going to rain pop some of your firewood under the tarp….?
Hi. I interested to do hammock camping 😎 do you mind to share your tarp size because iam looking for tarp to start hammock camping plus your setup give a full protection from rain. Thank you
@@AtlasAdventures Hi Brett, I just happened upon this post. I am so sorry for your loss of Atlas. What a grand life he lead, with you at the helm, taking him along on your many adventures. What great companionship you provided each other.
Glad you like the video and subbed! The tarp was great. Its 12ft x 10ft Gold Armour Rainfly Tarp with tie loops all over. My hammock is a double wide one so its around 9 ft long and you want about a ft of overhang above both ends of the hammock. I used a smaller tarp around 9x9 in a windy storm and got drenched! a.co/d/1DS8uN1
Happy to have stumbled upon your video, well done. As I am looking for a hammock system myself, would you mind sharing what hammock/tarp you use? Thanks.
Thank you! I use a double wide wise owl hammock with wise owl straps. Get ultralight tarp atleast 12x12 to have overhang over the Hamic. If the lows are below 55° get it cheap under quilt on Amazon. Then your normal, sleeping bag and pad inside and you’re good 👍
Yes the wood I used that morning was kept under the tarp and not enough smaller tinder unfortunately. Would love to see a video of you showing me how it’s done…
@@AtlasAdventures Hopefully I will be going camping again at the end of this month, the last time I went camping I tripped over a guy rope and broke my right arm and still recovering form it and I'm hoping it will be my first attempt at videoing it, don't expect to much though, at seventy years old and in bad health I will be looking to make things as easy as possible for myself.
Hmmm...I must say...in all my 64 years camping and thru-hiking...you're the first person I've ever seen bring a meat thermometer to cook with in camp...
And dude! Just a friendly tip, buy NOTHING cheap for your EXPENSIVE body. That's why you meal dropped down. Only HIGH QUALITY thinks for our body's 💯💯💯

Camping, Hiking, Hammocking in the rain is definitely "Type B" fun but makes some of the best memories.
“Type B” fun 🤣 you’re not wrong but yes, great memories!
❤❤❤
what do you mean by type b fun?

really respect you acknowledging that the fire failed, an element of realism that is often missing from YT! keep up the good work

Hey I’m in Michigan. Have been dying to get out there. This past weekend was great spring weather. Keep it up.
Hi neighbor! Hopefully you made it out this past weekend which was gorgeous
You had literally a ton of pine needles. And they're great fire starter and they burn hot, they burn quick !!!!
Soaking wet pine needles don’t burn easy and I had to leave early. Can’t always be perfect out there

Is a mosquito net really necessary when hammock camping? Especially in winter.
No, it’s not necessary in winter or early spring, that’s why I didn’t have one on this trip
My dog name was Atlas he just passed away yesterday i miss him so much

what knife are you using for splitting the wood?
Great video, what is the size of your tarp ?
Was getting wet an issue at all with the open sides of the tarp?
What kind of tarp were you useing? Would love to know.

Do you camp just on stateland?
Hey man , great video;
I'm wondering, which tarp size did you get ? there are four in the link. also how small does it pack down to ?
So what did you learn from that trip, what about putting the wood under cover so it's dry for the next time.
