Here’s some tips for the Rich kids that bought a samsung Amoled displays that doesn’t know how to maintain their phones. To prevent burn in:
    1. Don’t put your brightness on max 50-75% is enough especially for flagship devices. They are quite bright anyway..
    2. AVOID!! Keeping your screen on a static image.. Gor example scrolling too much on facebook, watching youtube in portrait mode... Etc.. Those lines and UI are considered static image and can cause burn-in...
    3. This kind of videos can help prevent burn-in minimally.. Not fix it completely.. Especially if it’s a severe burn-in..
    4. Put a sleep timer in your phone’s display so it will automatically turn off after few minutes of inactivity.. Especialy if you’re likely to fall asleep while using your device.. (Like the Hell?!)
    5. It’s up to you if you will follow a random guy from the comment section in youtube but.. again
    PREVENTION IS THE BEST SOLUTION..
Mobile phones are still an electronic device and will suffer from deterioration.. Especially if you know how “OLED” displays works.. You just know how to maintain it..

This is great advice and yes, preventing burn-in before it occurs is always the best solution. Pinned your comment.

My dad got a new phone so I got his old one and he plays clash of clans and it's like the only game he plays and. Theres a bit of a screen burn of the UI and it's a Samsung S9 I tried to warn him that you shouldnt keep your brightness on max he did it anyway. So now it's not his problem, its mine. Smh and It really bugs me.. just tryna find a way to get rid of it or even reduce it. I try to hid it by using dark themes more than white ones.

    • @hewe0157
      @hewe0157 3 роки тому +30

Burn in occurs when pixels on the screen are worn out faster. So the pixels that show, like in my case, where the navigation bar is, even when it's not there are just worn out. Their colours are less vibrant resulting in these marks. These flashing videos will wear out the other pixels. The result won't be that all pixels are magically fixed. They will just all be worn out resulting in a less vibrant picture.
The burn-in marks will be gone but your screen will be worse. You could kinda see it like a trade. You give picture quality and receive no more burn-in. But actually your while screen is just one huge burn-in.

Was about to get a S8+ after hearing all the Burn in problems associated with it... my S7 Edge has big burn in problems aswell, but somehow MAGICALLY my old S3 has 0 Burn in markings, and i remember that i always used to put the brightness at max, and I used that phone the most! My old S5 has pretty noticeable Burn in marks aswell, it's just soo sad that it kills alot of the Gear VR experience you'll notice the burn in marks when using your gear vr! I myself think that burn in is random like a specific % of phones get it, i probably got lucky with my S3, and unlucky burn in displays with my S5 and S7 Edge... Im hoping that if i maybe do get an S8+ it would be the same as my S3 burn in free!

    No
This method will further damage your display pixels.
    How it works?
By keeping the brightness high and playing this video on full screen will start burning the rest of the pixels to match the colours of those areas that have been burned. You're not solving your issue, you're damaging it even more.
For some it might have taken 10+ hours to match the colours. It means, it took 10+ hours to damage the rest of the pixels that were okay to match those that have been ruined.
Every display has burn-in issue it's not only common for Amoled displays happens even on LCD panels, but we often don't see the burn in issue on LCDs because their colors get faded evenly which is not true for OLEDs because their pixels don't degrade evenly that's why we notice burn-in issues on OLED panels more often.
So, don't try this method, rather help people who don't know about it. And don't read the positive comments all of them aren't serious.

    24th July 2019 "i own s8 plus"
while i was watching video on youtube, display color suddenly faded
and the black color turn into dark greeenish shade.
contrast of the color was gone and finally my phone was also suffering from display burn in.
i turned of the night mode, changed the wallpaper to a brighter color, changed whatsapp wallpaper to bright color and keyboard to white color
changed display type to adaptive display and in color balance turned green and blue to minimum
after using my phone for 5 days
today my display starts to bling for few minutes
and suddenly the display was fixed
Try this it can fix display burn in

This works best if you turn up the brightness to 100%, because static images cause burn in when the display is at full or more than 50% of brightness.

Understand your screen before you "fix" it.
If you have screen burn the video burns the rest of your screen to match so you dont notice it, thereby making the screen worse. If that's what you're after then fair enough but please understand what you're doing before you're doing it.
Long story short: it doesn't fix it, it just ruins the rest of your screen to match

Screen burn in is a problem for any oled. That includes samsung and even iphone x. OLED displays can produce very saturated colors plus true blacks and in a way it appeals to most people.
The only way to prevent screen burn in is not to leave a static images on your phone's display for a long time and especially with high brightness.
It is best to minimize screen timeout to minimize this the probability of it happening.
I do hope a company find an alternative way of preventing screen burn in

Definintly don't do that. It wears out your pixels. It doesn't actually magically fix your burn in. That can only be achieved by replacing the display.
Burn-in marks are worn out pixels. These videos hide these spots by wearing out the other pixels on the screen. So while the marks will be gone, you will lose picture quality. I don't recommend watching videos like these except you really want to fix burn-in on your screen.

They can't be revived or repaired. Played it through 3 times with max brightness. Only way to fix it would be taking image that caused burn in, convert it to negative and view it for several hours with 100% brightness so that rest of the pixels degrade to same level as burned in pixels.
