I found this PDF that mentions not using a shard of glass. I'm not sure why someone would think to use a shard of glass instead of just using a metal knife, though. Maybe because it's not conducive. www.ensto.com/globalassets/brochures/underground-cable-networks/europacable-position-paper-best-practices-for-installation-of-medium-voltage-cable-accessories.pdf
@@_AvaGlass I didnt listen to the audio on this but watched this craftsman at his work...I think what he would have meant is when carrying out the semi conductive horizontal cut do not use glass, it is a widely used method in high voltage cable jointing.the jointer usually smooths the transition from semi con to the insulation with a shard of glass, almost planing it meticulously making sure there is no bumps that could lead to a hot spot or stress point..nowadays we are not allowed to use knifes for a lot of these cuts.we have various cutting, stripping tools for the job. but you can't beat the skill this man has.
What will happen if the length of anti tracking tube is reduced at site due to constraint of terminal box dimension.. assume supplied length of anti tracking tube is 500mm and we reduced it at site to 450mm
This dude is a pro. His workmanship shows that he's done a lot of these.
Absolutely, his diligence and workmanship are very impressive. I want him doing all my HV post terminations!!
Just downloaded this company catalog - have a look guy's, great range of polymeric shrink insulation kit upto 33kv.
Some one help me what if the semi conductor screen in not removed?
I need a question test. Examanation and answer......in Aramco splicer certificate...if pass practical test.
Maybe a stupid question but what do you mean when you " don't use glass"
