Soon to be unavailable too, so if you want one, better get in quick 👍
They are halting civilian rifle manufacturing
Thank you for letting me know I did not know that it is going to be unavailable very soon
@BenchrestMarksman you're very welcome mate, this news only just broke in Australia the other day.
Might be worth making a video on if you're keen on sharing with your followers 👍
If you're keen on a larger calibre the la102 is a tac driver too ;-)
Thank you for what you do.
I appreciate that
I started shooting again after over 40 years of not shooting and purchased the LA101 in .22LR six years ago. I use it for Benchrest at my local range. As mine is unmodified, I shoot in the hunter class. We shoot alongside the target class guys. Not only have I come home with mostly gold medals, then silver medals and only three bronze medals in six years, I have outscored the target guys on several occasions. My best individual score of 250 out of 250 with 11 centres is actually one centre better than the target guys at my range. My scores started to slip in the last six months. After a thorough clean of the trigger group and bolt, my scores have improved. The greatest competition I get at the range is from other Lithgow owners.
Nice presentation of a great rifle! Thanks for the video!
The Lithgow really is a great rifle and it's on my list to get. Thank you for watching
I want one of those BADDDD
It is really is a nice rifle
Love my 101. Very consistent, even better with a slightly lighter trigger.
yeh, mate, because of the way you shoot and handle things, you are right up close all the time, I'll take your word, when you say it's nicely finished.
I want to see you shoot this. Because you are right up close, I think you will enjoy how smooth that bolt is said to run.
It is very similar to my sako
Wow!
Thats a beefy rail on the bottom of that rifle!
I bet it shoots really well!
Hopefully you get a chance to shoot some videos to share with it!❤❤❤
It is a 3D printed attachment that my friend got from eBay that attaches to the rifle. Basically it is an attachment that makes forend, wide so it sits in a bag more stable when doing benchrest
@BenchrestMarksman nice!
Have you tried the Lithgow LA101 or have another rimfire rifle you recommend? Let us know in the comments! Don’t forget to subscribe 😀
Great vid, ya got me inspired to get one. I have a LA102 in 308, it’s an absolute tack driver with the right ammo (Federal 135 HP) half MOA all day. Can you or any other viewers with a LA101 please tell me what ammo it likes?
It's very difficult to say as every rifle can have its preferences, but that rifle liked SK long-range
@ thanks mate most appreciated!
I just wish there were more after market chassis for the 101. TSPX is the only one I know. Would love MDT to make one.
I was looking for a 17HMR . Looked at this or CZ. Chose Aust at $400 more. However I expected better acuracy. I am over 60 ,been shooting a long time and I'm anal about tight groups. Admittedly I have only tried about 4 different types of rimfire ammo through it and rimfires are known for finding the right stuff to shoot best but never the less, I was expecting better.
Is the rifle available in a Left Hand version ? Nice review
Thank you and yes it is available in left and right hand actions
I’ve got LA102 in 243win.
It literally shoots under half inch groups at 100m!
I took it to the 100m range and did 3 shot groups. The biggest group was 0.51inch. All others were under half inch.
Incredible accuracy. And I’m not even good at shooting. Oh, and it was factory ammo!
My mate has a LA102 and has similar experience
I love mine. I have won many comps with it. It eats Tikkas for breakfast lunch and tea Cz are comparable the only downside to the la101is the trigger
la101 trigger can be worked on I believe
@BenchrestMarksman yes there's several after market spring sets which help. On talk to Lithgow's engineers this was a deliberately done to make a very safe hunting gun and didn't expect it to find such a place in target shooting. Even after 38000 rounds every still is not rattley and can hold under half inch groups. The SCSA chassis made it more consistent but slightly bigger groups. If you could get a trigger weight of 8 - 10 oz it would frighten far more expensive guns
I passed on one of these in a local shop an man I regret it
Can they still be imported to you?
@ I am not sure but about two years ago my local had one they had taken on trade. I didn’t know much about them so I didn’t buy it. Regret it!
told ya ;)
I would like to see a MDT option for the 101.
That would be really cool to see
@@BenchrestMarksmanMine shoots better than my cz457 lrp in the oryx chassis. Way more accurate with all ammo i feed it.
I've heard so much good about this rifle.
Pity 22LR ammo is so inconsistent 😢
It does take some time to find ammunition that your particular rifle likes
@@BenchrestMarksman no, seriously, the ammo is all over the place with velocities.
It ain't the rifle doing that.
Looks really nice... but this niche has kind of been taken over by PCP air rifles.
