He only had the basic SF course. Either way he went on a rant talking about how the mexican army did not put much effort into the mexican army special forces episode. He said they could have taken these guys to do counterterrorism training at the Mexico City subway, or do some mountain training at the Iztlazihuatl volcano. He also said they do breaching with explosives.
I watched a video by "Gafe423" a former member of the special forces where he mentions this Netflix documentary that talks about the Mexican special forces and he said that everything shown on Netflix is basic training for any army and he would have liked the commanders to actually show some real training.

Mexican special forces is a very vague term. The mexican navy -marines also have their SF unit, the FES. They participated in the 2 operations where El Chapo was captured with support from the US government.

That chapter was truly embarrassing for all Mexicans who really have knowledge of how our special forces operate, it is as if the government wanted to embarrass us whit the world, this current government has the motto of "hugs, not bullets" hugs against people who decapitate civilians and commit genocide in broad daylight, simply horrible, I apologize for that tactical culture shock, the Mexican army has received a lot of foreign training, but its backward-thinking commanders and the government itself make all that training useless.

I think the difference was that the Mexican military has to modify their tactics because they’re not at war with another country they are at war within their country. If the U.S went at war with U.S gangs their tactics would not be the same as if we were fighting the talibans or isis.

The mexican army has to give the opportunity to surrender to the cartel sicarios, they can't shoot unless the cartel fires first (they can't shoot even if the sicario is pointing their gun against them), why?? Well.. the human rights, if they shoot to the sicarios without trying to capture them first, the human rights are going to have a big party with the military.

A good portion of the Cartel hitmen aka. sicarios are active or former police officers with good training in small arms. Some can be deadly despite being surrounded by idiotic sicarios grunts. Don't forget they also have former military and Federal level members.
@@Wizjizzbelieva23 Nahh that is a crazy conspiracy theory urban myth. Back in the day, Los Zetas hired special forces operatives from the Mexican Army and several Central American countries. There was an international treaty between Mexico and the United States called the "Bucareli Treaty" that prohibited the purchase of sophisticated military weapons. Today, that treaty has ended and the Russians and Chinese were the first to support Mexico by offering them more comfortable weapons and even supporting them in their training for their use. Many of these soldiers are very afraid for their families. It is as if the army was deployed in your own country to fight gangs and if these gangs knew your address, they would go after your family. Because of this, commanders try to hide their identity and this leads to low effectiveness for fear of being discovered
