I'm not exactly sure what to say. This is the best use of looping I have ever seen! It just keeps building and gently lets you go and repeats over and over but it never seems to get old in this song. This song truly paints a picture in the minds eye and if you could message me I would like to ask you a few questions. ~~Thank you, ~~~~~Evan Crador
Thanks for posting. I have a RC-3 Boss looper, but Ditto has a x2 & x4. Also, The RC-202 Boss is on my radar. The idea of using a cellobor violin bow is the next level for my ambient metal project......Praise The Drone))))))))))
This video is oddly mesmerizing to me.. It is beautiful and kinda mysterious Reminds me of a certain Abyss Really love to know these odd combination exists ngl
@mrgone830 it's because we have to frakking remember where the next note is... takes time if you know more then 50 songs? and who cares if you're still on time ^^
Hey TheEmuZone, thanks and glad you enjoyed this piece. I have an EP that I recorded years back. You can check it out at the CDBaby link in my video description.
i wish i can relax with this song on a beach, feel the melody and the cool night air guide my soul down so many wonderful memories, I love this, are you on itunes?
I play regular guitar (been playing for a decade) I'm really sad we dont see bowing more often. I cracked the code on guitar and figured out how to do it well. for any guitarists struggling with it best advice I can give: buy a decent pick up for an acoustic (trust me), get a delay pedal (you wont need more but can use more) and lastly use the bow in the tuning DADGAD so the open strings make a nice easy chord for you to play with. also make sure you rosin (resin? idk I'm not a violinist I just grab it off the shelf at the music store so I actually dont know lol) your bow to oblivion and back (once again trust me) let's bring it back the orthodox is boring let's go the extra mile together!
If you use it just wipe the strings off with a cloth or a paper towel after. If u do it alot itl cover ur pickups and ull see it but there really no evidence to whether or not it damages the pickups. If ur ganna do it id get a used one from ur local music store as itl be cheap and you really dont need to worry about ruining it but as long as you dont play it too violently theres no issues
@@chronic_johnson_a.r.a.b wait so the strings from a guitar (electric) are different than ones of a cello or violin? I have a cello and my teach told me it’s notmal for a few strings to get damaged or even fall off, we are supposed to replace them once we get a few strings in the bow
@@chronic_johnson_a.r.a.b also yeah, using a bow (it needs resin to make sound) its absolutely necessary to wipe the instrument’s strings AND the “faceplates” idk how they’re called in English, or else resin will solidify and the goop will get stuck in the instrument and strings, but there’s a solution to remove resin that us stuck so nothing to worry about
@@woae.. I'm sure it's normal for the hairs of the bow to be damaged over time no matter what you're using the bow on. But electric guitar strings tend to be made of metals like steel or nickel. I'm not familiar enough with violins, violas or cellos to know what their strings are made of.
Why did this amazing performance take 16 years to reach me?
why is this in my recommended 14 years later, i mean im not complaining this is sick but, like, 14 years
This is gonna blow up in... oh wait its already been 15 years
I totally dig where you are coming from as an artist. I was searching for vids on bowing electric basses and am glad I came across this. Thank you.
God Christ Jesus bless you , have a great day today :" )
Same feeling here
I love this song
How the hell does this not have over million views? It's been here since 2008, you had 8 years to catch up, world!
12 now
Now its 12 years
Hello 6 years ago human, greetings from future, are you still ok?
because there are people doing this without machines to help. I stopped watching 110 seconds in and wont watch again.
I could listen to this on repeat all day
Very good loop and bowing performing on the bass guitar gongratulations

The amount of techniques for bass shown here is amazing and inspiring for fellow bassist like me. Great performance!
Wow. Totally found this by accident. Love this!
Absolutely amazing wow
One word. Incredible.

Love it! The looping is so well done and the bowing is epic.
surfing for some bass using ebow, got here and i like your music . nice
It's kind of like New Age music and like it could be a sound track for a movie.
Wow, this is beautiful
You can bow anything. You can bow your face!
this is a perfect backing track song for me to jam with my guitar.
Excellent playing!
Love it! I wish more people could hear this!

Thanks RyuHayabusa5578. I am using the Boss RC-50 for my live looping here, though I also sometimes use an iPhone app called Everyday Looper
I love Line 6, personally. What is it that draws you to them?
very good :D

Hi, do you teach people with totally zero music background but have deep interest with bass guitar?
that's amazing

900th sub :)
Hello, it's in standard tuning
U can bow an electric bass? That's new to me lol
"Aborigine" by Pulp (1986) features a bowed bass
You can bow a lot of stuff
I play regular guitar (been playing for a decade) I'm really sad we dont see bowing more often. I cracked the code on guitar and figured out how to do it well.

@mrgone830
Uhh Vibrato?
Two Questions: why do you use a half-size violin bow? Do you have any pointers on tapping technique?
Do you mind giving me infor for lessons of just tips in general?
What type of bass/pickups are you using? It has such a beautiful sound.
skip to 5:22 to get to the bow playing.
Great performance :)
I have a question, what pedal are you using for the looping effect?
@mrgone830
To me, her left hand technique looks rather refined...
Wtf is this hidden gem?
What strings are you using? Normal or flatwound? I take it the bow will last longer if you use flatwound...
reminds me of mogwai's mr beast album
which looper is this? :) great song
i really love this! did you use rosin for the bow? and will it affect the strings afterwards? thank you so much!
It makes the strings a bit sticky, and repeated use can damage the hairs on the bow.
If you use it just wipe the strings off with a cloth or a paper towel after. If u do it alot itl cover ur pickups and ull see it but there really no evidence to whether or not it damages the pickups. That bass looks like a tobias. Is it ?
Who dares to cough during this beautiful performance😠
Hi John, yes I do, I just messaged you directly on lessons.
Not bad.
Bow playing ACTUALLY starts at 5:25
Fuck this bitch Just a loop pedal with no response
