de hizo el mez de las rosas,
huvo millares de cosas
y la fama lo pregona.

1. Porque se caso Almadan, se hizo un bravo sarao,
dançaron hijas de Anao con los nietos de Milan.
Un suegro de Don Beltran y una cuñada de Orfeo
començaron un guineo y acabólo una amaçona
y la fama lo pregona.
2. Entraron treinta Domingos con veinte Lunes a cuestas,
y cargó con estas sestas, un asno dando respingos.
Juana con Tingo los mongos salió las bragas enjutas
y las de quarenta putas huyendo de Barcelona
y la fama lo pregona.
TRANSLATION:
An evening part of chacona
was made in the month of roses;
a thousand things happened there
and its fame spread far and wide.

1. Because Almaden got married, they made a great party;
the sons of Anao danced with the nieces of Milan;
a father-in-law of Sir Beltran and a cousin of Orfeo
began to dance the guineo and finished with a maçona,

2. Thirty Sundays came in with twenty Mondays,
and loaded up with their baskets a bucking donkey;
Jane with a ‘tingo los mingos’ took off her skimpy breeches,
with more than forty whores running off from Barcelona.

Great job on La Vida Bona. 🤓Btw, if whoever wrote the program notes sees this, I think “y acabólo una amaçona” means “an amazon [ or a horsewoman or a virago] finished it off.” Still trying to figure out the part about "tingo los mingos” myself.
