In the Military when you use SINGAR radios they have a frequency hop. Basically two (or more) radios are time sinked, then a master radio has many frequencies stored with a clock and everyone jumps around them together and TX/RX. You can't listen in unless you are clocked and loaded.

Thank you sir for your time and effort! It is amazing on how far those "cheap Chinese radios" have come, to the point where they are now giving the "serious" brands a real run for their money - or to put it otherwise, one needs to go towards the top-end products of the "serious" brands for the purchace to make sense (but again with the top end prices, it's still open for debate!)... Also, regarding the batteries, my understanding is that it has to do with fire-risks/insurance, hence the price hikes... 73 (Athens, Greece)

I just got a second H3 in clear. It's a sexy little beast, one of my all-time favourite HT's. Thnx Freddie!🤠🇦🇺⁷³

I’d imagine alarm mode could come in handy. Basically a page function, like we use in the first responder world.

Good video. Im receiving a Retavis89 tomorrow. Several UA-cam reviews said it was decent but not passing all the purity tests. The IP68 rating was what i liked. I get dirty on the weekends and want a god HT. My Fengs work okay on simplex, hoping for a better field HT. Hopefully no QRM from my XYL on buying another HT. 73, KF0NNQ.

Mine had a junk antenna that was only resonant on GMRS. Two meters was higher than 4:1. Problem two was the first harmonic on 146.0 MHz was above the FCC guidelines. Third, the "B" transmit button was so touchy it would start transmitting at the slightest touch. If you kept pressing harder it would quit transmitting then start again when the switch inside clicked. I sent it back to Amazon for a refund after a couple days of testing.
Hopping RX is switching the input tone on every transmission.

Dropped mine four times, the battery clip is not very good. Radio is very durable, not a scratch on it even after abuse.
The H8 on the other hand is a POS

The battery being attached in shipping means there is a risk of it being turned on in transit which can cause battery issues in the air.

You are using the iPhone. Over 70% of the world uses Android, in fact whether using a cell phone or other devices Android is the most used OS in the world. Also, the Samsung Galaxy has many more business features, connectivity features, and user features than any iPhone. P.S. I was an iPhone only user for over eleven years, then I woke up. Do you realize having an iPhone Apple maintains control of your phone number; it is in their documentation.

Thank You for your input. My first smartphone was a Blackberry, then Android from the Galaxy S (one) Mesmerize to the Galaxy S7 then the boss moved us all to iPhone’s. It’s whatever to me, yeah I already know all that stuff.
