Great devotional! The only thing I would say is that not every 'struggling' Christian is a Christian giving up. No war or struggle, even a victorious one, has only won battles, but also losses. A struggling believer may also be one who recognizes that they are losing battles they should be winning, and the spirit is convicting them. Sometimes 'struggle' is a cop out, sometimes 'struggle' is honesty.
I appreciate your input. I definitely agree, the 'struggle' can sometimes be either a cop out or honesty. Honesty, I think, is the first step to victory. If there is a pattern of defeat, we can't pretend they never happened. In my own story, I went to the Lord for help, and He gave me a new strategy. And here is the key I believe: I had to be willing to obey his commands, which involved setting boundaries, confession, and other actions (which is part of a lifestyle of repentance with the purpose of pursuing Jesus in purity). And, of course, pursuing Jesus through prayer and reading scripture. -Sean
