Bro, I’m in the car with versions of the song playing and when it gets to this one I’m like why can’t I hear the words and then I look real quick and I noticed people are wearing mask and I’m just like oh that makes sense but it’s still good!!!
1 am a pilgrim, a pilgrim of sorrow I'm left in this wide world, this wide world alone Ain't got no hope, got no hope for tomorrow I'm trying to make it, make heaven my home Sometimes I just don't know, which way to turn I heard of a city, of a city called heaven I'm trying to make it, make heaven my home Sometimes I just don't know, which way to turn I heard of a city, of a city called heaven I'm trying to make it, make heaven my home
@@diegoluisjimenezmorales2323 The people who would sing this spiritual were enslaved, and they quite literally could only hope for death. After death would come heaven, which is everlasting peace with God
With Tom Trenney as the Minister of Music (at the piano in this video), you can bet your bottom dollar that the singers understand and respect the history of this body of music, variously called Negro Spirituals, Jubilee Songs, Sorrow Songs, and, more modernly, African American Spirituals.
Wonderful job, Thank you for posting this. Beautiful solo work! Thank you, choir, for such an artistic performance while masked! Singing must continue, and you are showing us how it's done. Congratulations to the Director!
As a trained musician congregant, I would SO appreciate it if your team could put up the words the choir is singing so we could all enjoy the lyrics also.
The deep richness of the soloist voice draws you in. I felt the story of the song being told and he shook me.
This soloist needs to be on Broadway. He is magnificent. ❤❤❤❤
wow. what a soloist. deep voice with that slow voice control. very impressive

Just heard this hours ago at my daughters regional chorus concert held at a historical Theater . It was moving and beautiful…. So I’m here now
That was jaw-droppingly gorgeous.
My hope is that they know the and history of this negro spiritual. It’s not just a song to sing because it sounds good or gives chills.
What’s the story?

Beautiful.
It's always fun to see the general race distribution of the choir when they mention this song being a black spiritual
Wow..
