I heard Yaron this weekend (July 2013) and he gave a marvelous talk on America and where we are and where we are headed. It is not good unless we change the culture we have of crony capitalism, 50% of Americans on the dole and a government run amok with it's hell bent determination to destroy this America we love. Obama is just a symptom showing that Americans want to be "given" things. Hard work and the self-made man is being destroyed by those that want something for nothing.
Yaron nailed it. I liked the suggestion at the end, to tax politicians whenever they put forth regulation, and give them bonuses whenever they cut regulation.
I'm not sure that Yaron is correct about the reason why cars and airplanes are still similar to how they were many years ago. I think that reason is that mechanical things reached a point where it is just not possible to improve them much... it's the physics that limits it. Semiconductors are different. It was possible to keep miniaturizing them more and more for a long time... the physics allowed it.
As many vids of talks, the microphone is in the audience someplace. It means that crowd noises are much louder than they ought to be. So the aupplause blows my ears off, while I can barely hear the speaker. Put the microphone up near the speaker. Or better, give him a lapel mic.
Is this the same brooks who asserted “it’s the children’s fault for the building falling on them? “ This guy isn’t a free market advocate, he’s a sociopath

Assuming you mean intellectual property, why? It's a standard part of objectivism.
I am surprised Yaron believes in IP.

You have to love what people resort to when they cannot refute an argument. Insults….
