So I could not resist the alien franchise after watching Romulus I just couldn’t so we are back with ALIEN 3 from 1992! Ellen Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) is the only survivor when she crash lands on Fiorina 161, a bleak wasteland inhabited by former inmates of the planet's maximum security prison. Once again, Ripley must face skepticism and the alien as it hunts down the prisoners and guards. Without weapons or modern technology of any kind, Ripley leads the men into battle against the terrifying creature.

Some people say "Alien 3" is their favorite of them all.
It's mine 😁
Alien 3 AC is a masterpiece
Yes, you're watching the Alternate Cut Version of the movie!
I prefer this 145 minute version is superior to the original 115 minute cut.
There are NO BAD FILMS IN THE ALIEN FRANCHISE. Just because it doesn't go the direction the narcissists expect, doesn't mean it's a bad film. It just means those haters think films are tailor made for them lol. There's 8 billion humans on this planet. They need to grow up, get over themselves and let people watch and form their own opinions.
I beg to differ. Alien 3 and AVP Requiem totally qualify
Directors Cut very nice😊😢🎉❤
I can’t for your Alien Resurrection reaction!
"I wonder if she's in the next movie" bruh Ripley goes bad ass in it.
" I guess thats the end of Ripleys story" lol you gonna shit ur pants in first 5 mins of Alien Resurrection
The two movies in which I prefer the theatrical version are 'I Am Legend' and 'Alien 3.' I am glad you guys have decided to continue the Alien and Predator franchise.
I am glad to watch another alien movie with you guys. I am glad to see the power couple together for this one. Good wishes and blessings to you both. Thanks for letting me watch with you guys.
Hey, Fireworks and White Gold! This was one of the better reactions to "Alien 3" I've seen! I commend you for watching it! It's the bleakest of the Alien Tetralogy but my second favorite of the series! Thankfully, you saw the superior ASSEMBLY CUT version aka the Special Edition which is greatly appreciated.
The ASSEMBLY CUT is the closest to David Fincher's original edit before 20th Century Fox interfered and restructured the entire film eliminating the CAPTURE AND RELEASE of the alien as well as many character-building scenes which made the convicts less homogeneous. The theatrical release is functional but hurried and choppy with hardly any time spent building relationships or differentiating convicts.
You are one of only a few reactors to the Alien franchise not to be scared off by the negative reputation the movie has and I'm glad you got to see the full picture.
Once one gets over the hump of the unceremonious deaths of Hicks and Newt, the film immediately draws you in to a new, harsher environment with terrific new characters and a horrible dilemma for Ripley.
In your reaction, you didn't make it clear if you noticed that the xenomorph takes on physical characteristics of the host in this case emerging as a QUADRUPED because the host was an ox. In the Theatrical Cut, the host is a dog. Previous hosts were human and the xenomorph was BIPEDAL. In the "Alien vs. Predator" films, the xenomorph takes on Predator characteristics! This fact alone makes this film an ESSENTIAL part of the franchise!
There is another aspect of alien physiology that is touched on briefly. When the COMATOSE ox is brought into the slaughterhouse, one convict briefly holds up a dead facehugger he finds on the flatbed they hauled the animal in on thinking it's a crab-like critter from Fiorina they've never seen before. It's darker-colored with spiny, webbed appendages. The speculation is that facehuggers that produce queen embryos have the capacity to carry TWO OVA: a queen and a protective drone that prepares the nest. This is why the surprise egg the "Aliens" Queen left aboard the 'Sulaco' produces a single ROYAL FACEHUGGER that impregnates both Ripley and the ox.
The Weyland-Yutani Company knew to expedite the rescue after Ripley performed her imaging scan revealing the Queen embryo because the lifecraft was part of the 'Sulaco' and all data was transmitted directly to the Company Network.
Ripley could tell the embryo was a Queen because the cranial carapace was clearly visible even in embryonic form.
The xenomorph can spit acid but it primarily projects its inner jaw to pierce flesh and bone as its offensive move. All the mouth slobber is just saliva that can harden into a resin.
The molten lead's incredibly high heat followed by the douse of icy water caused expansion and sudden contraction of the xenomorph's tough hide stressing it to the point of rupturing its body!
Bad pre-"Jurassic Park" CGI doesn't bother me when the story and characters compensate but many detractors roast the film for the sub-par digital composites of the practical xenomorph rod-puppet.
I liked the juxtaposition of birth and death during the funeral scene. It creates an atmosphere of inescapable doom.
This is the only Alien film in which we see the xenomorph actually FEED on its kills.
The title card states that Fiorina is a DOUBLE-Y CHROMOSOME penitentiary. That's why Dillon refers to the inmates as 'Y-chromos'. Whether they are naturally-occurring mutations or genetically modified is never made clear.
The characters were well-drawn and vividly brought to life by a terrific British cast!
Unflappable Dr. Clemens was a young CHARLES DANCE who later played Tywin Lannister on "Game of Thrones".
Stern Preacher Dillon was CHARLES DUTTON who was then the star of a popular dramedy called "Roc". Before becoming an actor, he spent time behind bars for real!
Snide Warden Andrews was BRIAN GLOVER who played the superstitious Yorkshireman in "An American Werewolf in London".
Assistant Warden "85" was RALPH BROWN who later played Naboo pilot Ric Olie in "Star Wars: Episode I -- The Phantom Menace", Dr. Faustus in Marvel's "Agent Carter" and historical Gen. Sir Henry Clinton in the Revolutionary War drama "Turn".
Smelly, crazy Golic was a young PAUL MCGANN who later played an iteration of Doctor Who.
Firebug David was PETE POSTLETHWAITE, a prolific British character actor with a distinctive mug who has had too many high profile roles to mention!
Murphy, who gets diced by the industrial fan, was CHRISTOPHER FAIRBANK, another prolific British character actor who appeared in the "Guardians of the Galaxy" franchise.
Rapist Junior, who sacrificed himself to trap the alien in the Assembly Cut, was HOLT MCCALLANY, a prolific American character actor. His sacrifice redeems his attempted rape of Ripley!
LANCE HENRIKSEN reprises his role as a battered Bishop and plays Company Exec John Bishop Weyland, the 22nd-century descendant of Company co-founder Charles Bishop Weyland seen in "Alien vs. Predator"!
MICHAEL BIEHN was so angry Hicks was killed in the script that he refused the use of his likeness for a dummy which is why his corpse's face is bashed in! He finally permitted use of his face for a computer image and was paid more for that than for his role in "Aliens"!
The studio refused to schedule the scene where Ripley confronts the xenomorph alone to test her theory that it won't harm her so Fincher took Sigourney Weaver aside and filmed the sequence by himself at the end of a shooting day to make sure it was included.
The face-to-face confrontation between the xenomorph and Ripley in the infirmary is another reason this film is essential as that image became EMBLEMATIC OF THE ENTIRE FRANCHISE!
Andrews' death is spectacular and surprising.
Clemens' death is shocking and tragic.
Dillon's death is brutal and noble.
Both Ripley and Dillon give ROUSING SPEECHES to embolden the inmates!
The Theatrical Cut shows the Queen larva BURSTING FROM RIPLEY'S CHEST as she plummets into the foundry clutching it to her breast as it wriggles helplessly! A great shot I wish was in the Assembly Cut.
These men are the worst of the worst and the lowest of the low yet they rally heroically against a dreadful threat in sharp contrast to the soulless elitists behind the Company.
This is a movie about REDEMPTION and SACRIFICE which provides a tragic yet heroic end to Ripley's tale.
"ALIEN: RESURRECTION" is the optional entry in the Ripley tetralogy because it's a hot, gooey mess of a movie by a French director known for offbeat fare. However, it does have Winona Ryder, Ron Perlman, Michael Wincott, some interesting concepts and one cool aquatic sequence!
As you have already seen the "ALIEN vs. PREDATOR" films and already acquainted yourself with the PREDATOR franchise, you need to wrap up that series as well. The franchise crossover concept was initiated by Dark Horse comics which inspired Hollywood to make the two AvP films with moderately successful to excellent results. They're fun and exciting guilty pleasures with the second one, "ALIENS vs. PREDATOR: REQUIEM", being particularly lean and mean. The remaining standalone Predator movies include "PREDATORS" produced by Robert Rodriguez which is definitely worth a look, "THE PREDATOR" (2018) REBOOT which very nearly killed the franchise and should be approached with a great deal of trepidation, and "PREY" which is an excellent 18th-century-set prequel to the original film that was released on Hulu! The Alien films have a RICHER SUBTEXT while the Predator films are more ACTION FARE but they're both fun sci-fi thrillers.

this movie was crazy wild and rip ripley😃
This version of the movie, while a bummer in some ways compared to the tone of the last movie, is so underrated. The set is gorgeous, the imagery and religious metaphors are very cool, and the xenomorph in this one (often called "the Runner"), when practical, is still one of the coolest designs in the franchise. This one is a decisive work of art. The next one? They decide to let us have some rollercoaster ride fun after the darkness of this one and I think you'll have a good time with it for sure.
Yeah glad you guys did the assembly cut big thumbs up
Alien Resurrection is for sure going to have them lost for words here and there moments
You simply cannot miss these two franchises, Alien and Predator, even with less better ones. This universe fascinated from the start and it never dissapointed so far. Keep them coming.
RIPLEY IS BACK AGAIN!
Alien 4: Resurrection is written by Joss Whedon (Marvel before Marvel existed) so the tone changed to more pulp. It's like a comic book movie with Aliens instead of superhero's. Alien 3 is the scariest because everything bad that can happen happens. Everyone you didn't want to die... dies.
I absolutely love all four movies The fourth one is actually my favorite But number two is really good
THAT WAS WILD!
I love the slow burn. They say Slow Cinema is the future because people are tired of the quick cut MTV editing because everyone does it and everyone is scared of doing slow cinema out of fear of being called boring or "A lot of nothing"
THIS MOVIE IS CRAZY!
It’s underrated. Does it have its problems sure but this introduced the concept of xenomorphs being born from other species
The second best Alien movie after the original.
Yes!
So glad you watched the Assembly Cut! While Alien 3 is not at all on the level of I or 2 - it's definitely an interesting film on multiple levels, and this cut is far more coherent than the theatrical cut: no plot holes, better character development. The making of this film was an absolute shit show, and and it's a testament to David Fincher's talent that he could put together something this decent under the circumstances.
ALIENS 3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you for going all the way . I don't know why people insist on channels not finishing the story. I actually prefer the theatrical version better because they cut out all the cheesy garbage lines that the full versions leave in
Yea Alien Resurrection is a trip, takes place 200 years further in the future and Predators gonna show you they planet. 👽🧪
Cant wait for this
To clarify, the alien v predator movies are not part of the lore of either the alien or predator franchises. The AVP movies were inspired by a comic book crossover. As you will see in Prometheus, weyland is a totally different person, and not who is portrayed in AVP. The predator does not exist in the alien franchise.
Watch outlander 2008 movie
Great reaction guys but i prefer the David Fincher cut which he did a few years later. Not a big fan of this movie of how they took the characters and story. Especially killing off Newt and Hicks,
Its a ok movie but should have had cameron involved. Big thumbs up to you guys
Um, there is no David Fincher cut. The Assembly Cut is the closest to what he would've done with the film. Fincher has disowned Alien 3 completely thanks to numerous behind the scenes issues during filming.
I still prefer the theatrical cut cause that’s how I 1st saw it. You actually see the Queen burst from her as she’s falling into the incinerator
In the theatrical cut the xenomorph came out of a dog
Even James Cameron says the third best one is "Aliens vs Predators". I wonder if he thinks "Romulus" is third best now. It is for me, pushing "Alien: Covenant" and "Aliens vs Predators" to 4th best (They were tied as third best for me)
She doesn't tell them about the alien because they believe in aliens just like real life. No one would believe her and who know what crazy treatment they'd give her if she started shouting "Aliens are here!!" we ostracized people who claim to see UFO's and aliens or get abducted so.. her not telling them is very realistic.
7 out of 10 for me
Of course you should watch all of them, like me when i was younger ! even tho the 3 is probably the one i like the less, it was fun and had good idea, and actors, but the all around that happened with the script and the film itself is breaking it kinda makes it weird and they killed newt & Hicks man. 😢.
Never listen to what the majority of a fanbase says because they are usually way off. Alien 3 is great, and it is the best sequel in the alien franchise as far as im concerned.
You should watch teatrical version cause they change at least two powerful details. Specially at the end with Ripley death. They make it not as good as it was in original movie.
Can you guys do starship troppers reaction
While it’s very frustrating this was the direction they ended the trilogy at the time I admire its boldness to be so brutal. uncompromising and dark. The Criticisms towards it are fare but it does get overhated on. It’s garnered a cult following throughout the years since it released. Quite the shocking finale to the trilogy. If you thought this movie was an odd direction wait til ya get to
Alien 4 Resurrection 🤪
They are not priests. Since they are on another planet and in the future, they invented their own religion.
I personally enjoyed the Alien franchise 🤔
For me, I just hate that they killed Hicks and Nute, everything else I can handle but I hate that they did that.
I'm glad you liked Romulus. The thing that made me not enjoy it, was that it was a rehash of all the previous films, including quoted old lines at least four time, and even using bad CGI to bring back a dead actor, that they didn't have to do. You probably liked it so much because you hadn't seen the other movies first, but being so familiar with the other movies, it just agitated me. I wanted it to be it's own movie instead of recycling everything else.
As for Alien 3, people bag on it, but it is an interesting movie that has some great themes, great acting, and Ripley goes out like a boss. It can't compare to the previous two, but it doesn't deserve the hate, because people just can't get past Newt and Hick dying.
Now Alien Resurrection....that's the one I hate. It's like someone made a parody of Aliens. It's too goofy for me to take seriously.
This isn't the original script, once they signed Sigourney they scraped it a wrote the movie for her. The original script was turned into a novel with Bishop and Hicks as the leads. It would have made a much better movie.
Think about it Alien 3 is in fact Avengers endgame! Ripley is Iron Man
I feel like I’m in the minority here but I much prefer the theatrical cut regarding the ending , I think it looks way better and is just a more fitting end.
My least fave of the franchise but I still like it . Resurrections is prob my 2nd fave Alien movie.
this movie is not bad at all, it's a shame that with one detail it killed the franchise
Better than Romulus.
Sue me.
When you watched the second movie - Aliens - ur friend said “Aliens…. Was a “whole bunch of nothing”
THE single worst take in the history of humam beings reacting to things.
Literally THE worst.
Why would you guys put yourselves through the h**l that is Alien 3??
Oh, didn't we all warn you NOT to watch this! Ok, now you have to watch Alien; Resurrection, it's a million times better than this and will take the taste of ashes out of your mouth,
_Alien³_ is a work of depressive realism, and I love it. _Resurrection_ has no redeeming qualities, except for the Newborn, which I find pretty damn scary.
@@ArnoldTohtFanagreed.
@@ArnoldTohtFan A3 is an exercise in sadism! Resurrection has many good aspects and redeems the series
