For the people criticising the video: the fact that you're here means that you wanted to learn how to make a cappuccino and/or latte. You can't really criticise someone if you have little or no experience yourself.
People bitching just for the sake of bitching. This being youtube the only valid criticism to a video like this should be a video reply showing what the bitching commenters consider to be the proper way to make the drinks. As it stands they could have saved us all time and comment space by posting their bitching to their blog.
Finally, this video is the best cause this guy explaind pretty well the diferences of a cappuccino and a Latte, other vids just show how they make the coffees and that is it.
For all those watching this video. It is is two parts. The first half is on lattes and the second is on Cappuccinos. The cappuccino part gives two different ways of foaming, the first is the old fashioned way (with a spoon) which gives a dryer more peaked foam and the second is a more micro foam (wetter) cappuccino foam. I am not in anyway saying that this is the only way to do lattes and cappuccinos and this video is merely intended for those who are totally new to coffee and not designed for competition events etc. It is a friendly, hopefully informative video to get people started in the wonderful world of coffee...
nice vid, try to get a whirl pool going in your milk while you are texturing it. Also try not to use a spoon for your cappuccinos, if you start by pouring the milk close to the cup with a slight wiggle in your wrist you will get the nice smooth foam in first, then end by pulling up from more of a distance and the normal milk will go in. You shouldn't put your foam in last! Your way results in a lumpy surface when it should be a smooth glossy dome. Great Lattes!! :) xx
Thanks! Some of the remarks below are from stupid people. Every time somebody makes an instruction video intended to help people that need it, there will always be the idiots that think they can do a much better job teaching -- BUT where are their videos? Right? You did a very good job explaining the basics, as you intended!
If you don't have any suggestions or something nice to say, don't say anything at all. Is your problem really about the coffee? Everybody has their own preferences, there is no right or wrong way, he was just showing another way. And BTW it's Espresso straight that has no milk.
Well it seems as if in every single video I watch about a cappuccino or latte they are doing it wrong according to the comments. I have not watched one single video where everyone agrees on what it should look like.
Hi, please help me solve my problem with my coffee machine. I can not get a good coffee not with one wall filter basket and not with two walls filter basket. I changed all the sizes for a grind and a burr and did not change the taste, color and consistency. The coffee flow is fast and no coffee cream. I changed the grinding from fine to large and no changes,it doesn't even look like your coffee.
Hi there im new at this site, just wondering if any one can help some tips to make a latte art? I'm been watching so many videos but I couldn't make any progress, is it because I'm using a 1% milk?, any comments appreciated,,,, helps! Thanks 😊
I am a barista. I own a successful coffee shop in London and I love watching how other people make coffee. I do, on the other hand, think that some of what you have shown here is wrong. Not here to criticise at all. Good efforts though.
Haha, I'm watching many videos about making coffie, I am not sure what to be when I grow up, but I am thinking about Barista. It sounds interesting and I really want to work hard for whatever I end up working as. I know it means a lot of work to be a Barista, but it couldn't sound more perfect for me. I loove coffe!! Ps: Really good video :) Very educational!
Being a barista is not that hard of a job. There are camps and classes to learn how to be a better barista and stand above everyone else, but either way, just because you love coffee doesn't mean you'll love being a barista. It's not just mixing milk and coffee, I promise you that
I get your point, but I said; I'm thinking of being a Barista. I'm not 100% sure! It's not all mixing milk and coffe, I see that but I want to do that and also make someone's day better by serving them a good coffe. Being a Barista means that you make coffe. Of course you have to learn about the coffe's history and lot of it will be readding and practising. But I think it sound very fun.
Yes, and it is very fun. But I meant as all the other tasks that baristas have. I manage a coffee shop in san diego and just had this girl who "loved" coffee but didn't think that more than half of her work would consist on cleaning and stocking. I'm not trying to discourage you, we need more baristas in the world =]
Two questions if you don't mind: 1.) Do people brew into the cup or is it better to brew into a small cup and transfer to a bigger cup, or does it matter? 2.) Do people put sugar into these drinks and if so...how?
1) its better to brew straight into the cup (because when you transfer, crema is left in the previous cup/glass you brewed in which isnt good for your espresso drinks) 2)yes people do put sugar into coffee?UH ... buy pouring sugar in? Is your 2nd question a troll question because it seems kinda obvious
@@Xiia0Sn00pY i dont think he's trolling. i think, what he means by that was how do we put the sugar into those drinks. is that before the milk (right into the espresso) or into the milk before it gets steamed, or how? it's a pure curiousity
Help! I'm still struggling with the milk consistency.. I'm not getting enough micro bubbles incorporated into the body of the milk.. It looks like wet paint but it isn't. The bubbles are sitting on top of the jug.. Even after I swish the milk, when I pour the latte, the micro bubbles stay on top and milk being poured is mostly solid. And the bubbles that do flow out of the jug stays on top of the cup too, stifling the surface flow needed for latte art. :(
Put your machine on the second you get up in the morning, have a shower or go for a run or do some activity that takes roughly half an hour and then come back and make it. Always let your entire machine get hot first. No matter what machine it is. Even $3000+ machines require time to get hot.
Good Day! I have a question, what is the difference between latte and cappuccino, is the design of a coffee will define what coffee you are making? I'm a Barista student i hope you can help me.^_^
just getting into home brewing. been looking for something like this. I've realised I've had a lot of cappuccinos in coffee shops and cafes that are really a latte. I think the need for "latte art" is too strong and they use it on cappuccinos too much
puspita dyah latte is microfoam, the espresso is mixed with microfoam. You froth the whole milk but not big foam like seen in cappuccino. And cappuccino was simple right as u saw in video. The main takeaway is that when making latte don’t break the top layer called crema. It’s silky therefore you wanna drink your latte through that crema.
The best video i’ve ever watched on the difference between Cappuccino and latte

This was way more helpful in explaining the differences than other videos I've watched. Thank you!!
Glad it was helpful!

Being Francisco Javier yes, it took me a while to find the right video
Wonderful. Your clear explanations and excellent camera angles are much appreciated. One of the best videos on UA-cam!
Really informative video, especially the explanation of the difference between wetter and dryer cappuccinos. Thanks!
the best capuccino video on youtube! everyone else seems to make lattes and call them capuccinos
Lol 😂 if u think that’s a nice cappuccino u have serious issues 😂😂😂😂
@@thormail001 so what it should be?
@@sonnieteddy for sure not like that. That’s just lather not cappuccino.
I agree, one of the best videos, explaining the differences between the different foaming methods the best!!! thanks!
this is the most helpful video about steam milk I watched by now.

Very nice job. Your cheerful disposition is contagious.
Thank you very much. Your video has given me a good advice on how to use my new machine.
What machine is used in this video? Thank you. I found it informative.

omg, is this video 10yrs old? Explained so well !!
Hey nice video. I have a question though. Does it matter which sort of milk you use?
Good video thanks for sharing looks really good
Lovely job 😍😍😍😍😍😍 I wanted to be a barrista .
Wow very well explained. Great teacher.
Wow, that's cool.
i think you have given a good demo thanks , very helpful with the repeat
Dry foam looks nice, wet foam taste nice
Best tutorial ive seen so far
Can you show jow did you make the creamy shot of expresso before you added the foam??? Thank you
Many thanks. Nice presentation really helpful for a beginner like me.
This is really one of the better videos out there. Thanks.
Good tutorial, although I think the spoon is unnecessary
How much much espresso coffee is used in each cup here?
It looks like a double amount.
Awesome. Thank you.
excellent, agree with starting from the bottom. starting at the top giving loads of bubbles and leaving watery milk at the bottom, well done,
Great video

Very pretty. I've never made one but this will definitely help in my new adventure! Thanks!
Excellent remember to always use fresh whole milk, if you use fairlife its lactose free and you cant design anything when its steamed
Thanks mate!

How does their espresso turn out so creamy! Mine is just black!
Good vid! So, would the last cappuccino with the wet foam be called a flat white?
flat white dont hve any foam. its just steamed milk

putting your steam wand at the very bottom of the pitcher is a no. When you begin , it should be placed beneath the surface of the milk.
