This concert streamed starting around 3:00 AM here in Indiana. This song came, I believe, around 6:00, my time, and it was just stunning. I was a tad groggy for church a few hours later, but something about the way the Maids performed, musically and the MC's, gave me energy for the whole day. Actually, it still gives me a little energy when I think about it and it's been over a year. Thanks for bringing it back up.

Saiki's speech is very direct, and she doesn't sugar coat things to please the listener. In an interview with Vanitymix, Saiki said about her lyrics to Hate? " It's straightforward. There were a lot of news about affairs during the pandemic and I was disgusted by those who cheat on their partners like that. There was nothing to watch other than news programs and there were so many sad reports." "I got irritated." Also, LiSA, a singer friend of theirs, was the victim of infidelity by her husband which made the Japanese news. However, Saiki says she directed her anger towards unfaithfulness in general during the Covid lockdown and not to any particular individual. Saiki's direct and unvarnished way of speaking is very evident in her lyrics to "Hate?" which is an intriguing contrast to Miku's more philosophical style of songwriting.

What you missed out on was just before Hate? they performed Dice with a Misa base solo intro which was awesome! Most amazing concert I ever had the pleasure of witnessing! 🤘
How these girls stay cool and energetic throughout these long powerhouse performances just stuns me. It must be the Omajinai time that does it. Nice ink! I see that risqué Kanami sneaking in on your left arm. 😳 🤭

Miku becomes MC while the rest of the band have a snack, a drink, adjust their gear and take the mickey out of Miku behind her back. Miku leads the audience in chanting the magic spell they have to cast for a good show. It is a very cute and funny tradition and shows Miku as the entertainer she is. 🤩
Ramberg, the story behind the lyrics, that Saiki instead of Miku, wrote were a vent toward all the males in Japan who cheated on their spouses during the pandemic, including one of her friends. "Ten minutes of limp gymnastics" is one of the most brutal but funny put-downs of a guy's sexual prowess! MISA and Kanami's "duel/conversation" is EPIC! If anyone you know wants to know how talented this group is, show them this video.

(Happy fatigue thereafter 😄) The title of this song is interesting. It is not just "Hate" but "Hate?", with question mark. The lyric is a little bit contradictory or ambivalent. If the girl hates the guy so intensely, why she hanged around with him so long enough to know his daily behavior (10 minutes of limp gymnastics 🤣 etc.) and she wants him to try to understand her. Is she giving him the last chance to restore their relationship? That is the point I talked with my wife on my way home.

BAND-MAID = Their base is made up of fans who are not satisfied with pop. Either way, they are protecting the strongholds of declining metal and rock.
This is such a great way of listing the bands for me! I know BAND-MAID and the MAIDIACS best (app. 2 months in now). I’m not a metal head- so the genre was new to me. A MADIACS ask me to react to BAND-MAID and even though I had a long list of other requests- I did react to BLOOMING. The MAIDIACS has been requesting me to react to LOVEBITES and NEMOPHILA. I finally did both these last couple of days.
