More than happy help. You can either take a train, bus or flight from Dublin to Killarney. From Killarney, there is a bus that will bring you to Cahersiveen which is a town on the Ring of Kerry. Once in Cahersiveen, the easiest way to get to Portmagee would be a taxi which takes between 15-20 minutes approximately. Here is a link to a great website that will help with planning a journey to this region - www.transportforireland.ie/. If you need any additional advice please feel free to contact me. All the best. The Irish are the friendliest folks in the world. I was lucky to have visited almost 40 years ago and it’s the people I remember the most.
That's great to hear and happy you have fond memories of Ireland.
