I've been there in 1976. So far, it's my favorite part of the world. I'd like to go again to watercolor paint.
This is interesting.
Dingle is incredibly beautiful have been 4-5 times slea head drive is stunning town itself is good too loads of nice bars and restaurants plenty of shops too if you get a chance go you won't regret it check out Louis mulcahy pottery shop on slea head drive possibly the most scenic location for a shop in the entire WORLD imo
Why do the chapter headings have nothing to do with the content??
I’m excited. Planning to visit in August and what a great video to introduce the Killarney area.
Thank you for this video.
Ireland is great ..except for the inconsiderate Family Members
Go in Summertime
What? The rainy season? Too many tourists. Go in April/ May or sept/oct. cheaper and not as warm( ish) but clearer weather to see the sights!!
Go Northern Counties. Wild Atlanric way. Plenty to see in the North. All of Donegal is stunning. North Coast. ie Giant's Causeway/ Bushmills.Fermanafh Lake lands. Enniskillen. Belfast. Mourne Country And tjat nice hotel down at Newcastle. Plenty of nice hotels and restaurants sightseeing in Belfast. ie Titanic Titanic Quarter etc
To add to the videos suggestions Belfast -Fermanagh Lake lands and anywhere in Donegal/ North Sligo ie Mullaghmore the run from Bundran to Sligo (yeats Countryside) the best places to see.
The best video to see before visiting ,Ireland.❤
Thank you for this video. I’m visiting Ireland tomorrow and yours is the most comprehensive guide I’ve found :)
Prefer just to sit in the speakeasy myself
Dingle is sooooo beautiful. If in Ireland you must visit Dingle.
How to make friends with an Irish person.
Go up to him and say “ How the f$&k are ya”!! Instant friends!!
@tonymurray814 Then, I'm asking him to hurt me. No thanks.
You never mentioned visiting in January and February??!! Am I making a mistake arriving January 1 for a 2 month stay in Dingle??? I embrace clouds and rain which I am thinking will make the days that are not raining all the more beautiful??
Absolutely, Dingle is an amazing destination to explore and experience anytime of the year. You are definitely not making a mistake to go there in January and yes, you will have four seasons in one day with rain, mist, wind but happily sometimes the sun will pop out to say hello to you also. If you need any advice on where to explore on the peninsula please feel free to contact me. All the best. Mick
We are headed to the Ring of Kerry for a week in Sept. MY first time visiting Ireland, I enjoyed the history you told and the story it made.
More than welcome and really happy to hear you enjoyed the history and stories of this spectacular region of Ireland. If you need any further advice on what to see and where to explore in the region please feel free to contact me. All the best. Mick
Thank you for your video, Michael. I have just booked a Killarney cycling tour in Wild N Happy Travel for next August. I hope to meet you in Killarney. We are Spanish, and we expect that language will not be a barrier.
More than welcome and I look forward to meeting you in August on our Killarney Cycling Tour. If you need any further advice on what to see and where to explore in the region please feel free to contact me. All the best. Mick
Fabulous! Very informative including history as well as the geography and culture of the place. Thank you.
More than welcome!
Thanks so much for a very comprehensive tour of Dingle... I'm heading there in a few days and just cannot wait x
More than welcome and glad to hear you found it helpful. All the best. Mick
It was naughty of you to push the Tipping! That's not part of thr culture here in Ireland
I loved the South Pole Inn! I visited and had lunch there last spring and noticed all the Law Enforcement patches on the walls. I returned a month ago and left my California State Park Ranger patched so Park Rangers are now on the wall. There is a great museum in Tralee and it has a great room dedicated to Tom Crean! love Ireland!
It is a very special place full of unique history and fantastic photography detailing Tom's amazing life and adventures. Very kind of you to great to leave a California State Park Ranger patched and I will look for it the next time I am in there. All the best. Mick
💚🇮🇪 Shared Alan Ireland and Dublin Tours
Thanks and much appreciated.
Thank God for Irish guide of The 18:38 Ring Kerry. I lovef it! Well done!
Thanks and appreciated.
Thank you!!!!
In September, what pubs in Dingle are most likely to have live music nightly?
You have an array of great pubs in Dingle and for your benefit I have outlined a couple of my favourites that generally have music in them. They are as follows: 1. O' Flaherty's 2. O' Sullivan's Court House Pub 3. Neligan's 4. Foxy John's 5. Dick Mack's Hope that helps and if you need any advice on what to see and where to explore on the peninsula please feel free to contact me. All the best. Mick
Only food tayto cheese an onion crisps. Or seafood chowder. Yum. Brown bread Irish butter.
Wheat bread is that?
Caves and surrounding area looked really great. Hope the weather improves.
I hope so too!
Way to go!!!!
Thanks and much appreciated.
So helpful! Thank you!
Good information. I can't wait to go.
More than welcome and if you need any advice on what to see and where to explore in the region please feel free to contact me. All the best. Mick
The way I go to Ireland is enjoy festive Irish music and eat corned beef hash! 😋
Hi Michael! I've just subscribed. Skellig has been on my bucket list. Do you have a guide the best way to get to Portmagee from Dublin?
Practise ! Oh sorry, that was some other joke. Sorry ! 🙂
More than happy help. You can either take a train, bus or flight from Dublin to Killarney. From Killarney, there is a bus that will bring you to Cahersiveen which is a town on the Ring of Kerry. Once in Cahersiveen, the easiest way to get to Portmagee would be a taxi which takes between 15-20 minutes approximately. Here is a link to a great website that will help with planning a journey to this region - www.transportforireland.ie/. If you need any additional advice please feel free to contact me. All the best. Mick
@@wildnhappytravel thank you so much 💓 💖 more power to your channel!
The Irish are the friendliest folks in the world. I was lucky to have visited almost 40 years ago and it’s the people I remember the most.
That's great to hear and happy you have fond memories of Ireland.
I know of an Irish person who wants to kiss me in court.
My name is Patrick McNeill and I uz and I live in Florida Sarasota and before that it was teddy palm and before that it was teddy trimmer and 75 years ago my family name was O'Brien's 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
All fine and well except the past couple of generations of the Irish have pretty much degenerated into nasties - especially in the north, where they never really were very nice - always lots of rabble rousing. The "good" Irish all came to America and were/are kind of known for a bit of corruption, e.g. the current POTUS.
Lovely video! I'm headed there this week. 🎉
Ireland is a place where people don't care i have mental illness and anxiety in Ireland where I can not get treated unless i am psychic where I can not get a home where the police are corrupt and people dying on the street and the health system is a joke
Wonderful job on this guide, Michael. Thank so much.
Glad it was helpful!
Another fantastic guide, Michael. Thanks very much. I'm looking forward to October.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Taking my (adult) daughter there to visit family this Oct. '23. Excellent guide video. Thanks so much. Cheers from North America. (subscribed)

I had the opportunity to travel to Ireland & Scotland with Wild n Happy Tours in late August & early September and haven’t stopped talking about it since! Killarney was one of my many favorites! It’s National Park is simply spectacular, lakes, gardens, hikes, waterfalls and castles all in one place. We stayed there for 2 nights with the tour @ the Abbey B&B and I can’t tell you how wonderful it was. We even saw a show of Irish dancing, singing and music which also gave it a sense of place. Michael and his crew were the best and I want to spread the word, if you want a small group tour of their “wee island” you cannot go wrong. Memories abound!
We're so glad you had a great time, Colleen! You'll be welcomed back with open arms any time
Great video. Thanks for sharing. You just helped me add a few stops to our trip to Ireland. By the way, what is best place to take sunset pictures.
You're very welcome! The best place for sunset pictures would be on the Slea Head drive. This is because it is facing westerly and you will get beautiful shots off the coast
Gorgeous views !
Going to stay @ air B&B in Lispole from 5/10/24-5/24/24. My paternal grandparents are from Annascaul and ,Foroughmore , Kinard.Your video is very informative as I’ve been to Dingle Peninsula years ago, but never saw a lot of it. I’m also going to Skellig Michael( which I am determined to climb) from Portmagee. I just found out that there are quite a few Trants buried in Portmagee . So I’m going to check it out. You mentioned Tom Crean from Annascaul ; my paternal grandmother was Catherine Crean and she was also from Annascaul. I was trying to find out if they were related when I received an email from Kay Caball , the genealogist from Tralee. She was able to track down my grandmother on a census form and said she was from the Creans on the far side of Annascaul! Small world… I will definitely stop into the South Pole for a pint . Can’t wait to go. This will be my third trip to Ireland( well, went to NI this past May, so that doesn’t count)in 2 years. Thanks for your video.Slan go foill🙋🏻♀️
Wow that's a great story! I hope you have a great time in Kerry, your passion for the area is infectious, I love it!
Loved your video! We just returned from the Killarney area. Loved every minute of it. Wish we had more time to explore. Had a great time photographing the beautiful scenery of the place.
Thanks so much Bob! You'll be welcomed back to Killarney any time
Thank you, great advice and well rounded.
Thanks Elaine - glad you enjoyed it!
