This song was popular in 1968. Most of us loved this song while we were fighting the North Vietnamese a few miles from the DMZ. It gave us something to think about while hearing the Mortars going off in the very near horizon. The release this along with other songs in the sixties, it let us fantasize about being at home with family and friends
We still have DMZ between South and North Koreas and our ROK Army was there in Nam with the US army when this song was popular.
@@고소미-n9s yes. I was in Phu Bai Feb 1968 during the Tet Offensive. We had a guy from New Orleans that use to play the song on his guitar and sing “the house of the rising Sun”. I was located at Camp Campbell, MCB 133 u.s.navy SEABEEs

This is one of the greatest covers I have ever heard. The pan flute has one of the most beautiful sounds of all instruments I have heard.
I used to think it was the instruments that put out the beautiful sound later on in life I realized it wasn't the instrument itself putting off the beautiful sound but the artist playing the instrument

Однажды в Москве возле Цума выступали вот такие же натуральные индейцы - с такой же мелодией. поверьте никто не проходил мимо. останавливались хоть на 1 минуту но все. буквально все спешащие мимо люди. это было будто волшебство какое-то. а мы так 2 часа слушали этот бесплатный концерт не в силе оторваться и идти по своим делам.Музыка явно из КОСМОСА взята. уж очень завораживает мелодичностью.
Что такое ,,бесплатный" Любой нормальный человек положит им в корзинку хорошие деньги. Они не нищие ,они Артисты.А любой труд должен быть вознагрожден.

I wonder if my father came from an Indian bloodline...he has dark skin but he always spoke in riddles or possibly ancient sayings. This music 🎶 is so soothing yet strong, powerful and you feel it deep inside....can’t explain it.

I've been living in SE Asia for almost 20 years. I've heard a LOT of (Asian) flutes and woodwinds applied to western music. THIS is the best I've ever heard, the timbre (range) of that particular 'pan' is perfect for this song, and he obviously plays it with what one can tell is a LIFETIME of experience. ...and the 'flute' at the end...omg....Great vid.
Not saying that playing the flute or piccolo requires more, or less, talent, but their instruments require a strong, deep portion of themselves. Well played, gentlemen.

Native music? The song isn't from South America (it is about a bordello in New Orleans) and the pan flute is originally Greek. But it is a lovely performance.
