I must be stuck in the past, but I make six figures and I laughed at the $30,000 price for a cab model. Was interested until I saw that price. No way.
Same, old-school, motorcycles and ATVs should not bump into medium car/SUV (Rav4, CRV, CX5) territory.
Yeah, that's what I paid for my truck when I bought it, lol. Granted it was used, but only 5 yrs old and 30k miles
Absolutely. No way, no how.
4-5 yrs of payments for us commenors!
Yep, you are stuck in the past, if you don’t buy it the next guy will, still a 3-4 month wait in the Midwest for full cab can am’s$30-$40k sell like hot cakes
You need to get Andre & Mr Truck do the IKE Gountlet with this towing 2500 pounds. That would go viral.
OR just drive it alone+😂
Wow that price is insane I got my 2021 4Runner trd off-road for 38k brand new (before tax) in early 2021. This insanity will continue as long as people pay these crazy prices. My question is are people 50% wealthier since 2020? Making double??
Yeah some people have more money. And they choose to spend it. Thats their personal choice. I get SxS’s are pricy these days but that doesn’t mean no one can afford one
Wait, these things will drop in the next year or two as the economy is slowly but surely tanking.
I bought a 2015 Subaru outback higher mileage but super clean drove like new for 7400 bucks
Considering the cost I would probably just drive my car like it's a side-by-side
Best review of the Ridge yet!
Love it but the price is getting crazy 🤪
Just get a 2 door used great condition JL Rubicon for 35k, no annoying helmets and drive it anywhere. I was interested until I saw the prices.
Excellent review Alex!
I pre-ordered one for May delivery! Looking forward to comparing it against my RMAX. Thanks for the video!
You should try some harder trails and you could see what makes the krx really different from a utility sxs. Also the krx has a 2 door option as well.
Great job alex
What's the point of going riding to be enclosed. Most of the fun is getting wet and muddy smashing lite beers all day.
Its what happened when yuppy hipsters started getting into ‘offroading’
So you dont freeze to death in winter bro
It looks cool. But id imagine for small work duty and 4x4 work a used older tacoma would give you more bang for your buck
Can someone please explain the wisdom behind requiring goggles while driving a fully enclosed vehicle?
Like when you saw someone wearing a mask driving alone on the highway during the lockdown.
Kawasaki requires helmets on these events. If you want sunglasses, sometimes it’s more comfortable to just wear tinted goggles with the helmet. I wear prescription glasses and they suck in a helmet. I’m assuming it’s the same for regular sun glasses. The helmet doesn’t make a lot of sense, but it covers them if something was to happen.
@@parkerfoxhoven7550 I wear prescription sunglasses when I'm driving my side-by-side and like you said it's really uncomfortable with goggles
Alex is wearing shades part of the time, they must have been driving the open models, too.🤔🤷♂️
lawyers
That thing cost the same as my 05 Dodge 3500 4x4 and 4 door cab long bed dually with 5.9 cummins 6 speed manual and manual shift for the 4x4 selector and that’s crazy how can you sell a toy for 33K that’s just crazy ..
They are crazy high, but they aren’t “toys” on the farm/ranch. Once irrigation season starts I pretty much live in my gator with cab/heat/air. Mostly Polaris cab/heat/air in my area.
I love Kawa, have a teryx. Ventilated seats are the one option id want😂
Well Done on all the information!! Is there many squeeks and rattles? How is the cab noise? How is the drivers leg room?
Im very familiar with those trails. Should have gotten off the easy green/blue trails and onto the black trails. Also passed up a lot of good mudholes where you could have tested the power.
30k?!? I'll stick with my Honda 520 for 1/3 the price.
70 mph smokes the defender and Ranger... I wish someone would a a decibel sound check in the cab.
70mph Death Trap = RIP S uckers
It ain’t a race
Nice looking country to off-road
I know it isn't a direct comparison, but for equivalent $ (low to mid 30s) you can buy a Maverick Tremor. I know you hear it all the time but the prices are just too high for an off-road work machine.
Or used $ 8,000 2002 Nissan 4x4 CrewCab like I seen on Craigslist
What is the AC like I know Polaris struggles and I live in Florida
I’ll never understand what makes these SxSs so expensive. For that price you could put an LS, Dana axles, lockers, 35s AND air conditioning in a Samurai/Ranger/TJ/etc. and still have cash leftover.
And still have an old noisy uncomfortable heavy POS.
😏 used wrangler looks good
Thank you, Alex, great detailed review. Love the part-time 4x4 instead of full-time. Don't know what sales show, but IMHO Kawasaki gets lost behind Polaris and Can-Am. I am more of a fan of Honda and Yamaha.
They all get lost behind Polaris and Canam. Thats because those two manufacturers are constantly releasing the “latest and greatest”. Honda, Yamaha and Kawasaki tend to be more conservative with their offerings and much of the off road crowd wants the newest, fastest machines available - so they buy Polaris or Canam. In reality, the three Japanese manufacturers build far better quality machines that’ll last a long time vs the other two. Kawasaki is right up there with Honda and Yamaha and, in fact, they warranty their products far longer to…. Ya can’t go wrong with Kawi!
Wow getting lots of options like a on road vehicle
when will you compare to the ranger 1500 steelbelt...?
Is there any talk of a 4 door unit?
Yes, I’ve read it’s coming later this year….
Is it chain or gear driven Reverse ?
Also wondering how much trouble to snorkel....
Waiting for the update video for the Tacoma!
I think it'll come out soon on The Fast Lane Truck.
The update is that its junk for a high price no suprise
Alex the goat of Tfl.
Rob the stalker
@@garysarratt1 🤣👍 You got his # alright.
@@WW-wf8tu He likes the young dudes; doesn’t compliment Andre, Roman and Nathan 🤨
Good veedeeeo. Nice Rig. Would have rather Kawasaki done something out west. Arizona, Utah, Colorado. Trails in WV are highways compared to western states.
I was thinking the same thing. I've driven "roads" out here in the mountains that were worse than those "trails."
He wasn't on the black trails that's why you think it a road
Kawasaki is my brand. But at these prices, shy of being very well off with $, I would just buy a Jeep. For that matter, there are a lot of things you can do with $30K to have this level of luxury and be street legal. Being well off with $, I would just buy the best they got with all the whistles and bells and brag my ass off. lol And gloss over the fact it still runs off a CVT.
Its just too bad they COST So Way 2 Much [ $30,000 Fing Dollars Truly is not Worth the cost for the Metal used in its constuction ] and Are Not Legal to Drive on Public Streets.
They can become street legal in Utah and Arizona.
@@paulmadkow9143 and on Craglist a TRD SPORT TOYOTA TACOMA 4X4 - $17,500 (Durango)
Legal in my area of Colorado
Legal in Sandoval county NM.
Oklahoma also now.
In Canada the Xr model is 40K + 15% sales tax. Plus freight (2200.00) , PDI, rear bumper, side mirrors and a winch, side nerf bars - 54000.00 Canadain dollars!!! OMG never will that happen. How much will this depreciate in the first year alone?
im not sure how anyone can afford anything these days.
Is Kawasaki still sourcing their engines from Cherry (Chinese)?
No. That was the triple used in the Mule.
Bums me out even hearing this
Another great review by Alex! it's nicer than my truck...
“They were kissing this in their lineup” except for the one that started off their line.
What is an equivalent basic version of this. Don't like AC Power stuff, just a reliable 4WD that can get up to 35 MPH.
❤❤❤
O need for heated seats in a sxs
Haha zero need? Polaris is doing it already…. Why do you need them in a vehicle like a car / truck but think they’re useless in a sxs?? If it’s winter and cold they’d be nice to have I think, no???
heated seats in my x3 are amazing for winter riding with no enclosure.
How much is this car??? Is this legal on the street?? Thanks
Street legal in Kansas - if it’s used for farming/ranching.
Why do you have your big goggles on behind the windshield😂
Wieviel kostet sowas?
Absolutely not trading in my mule for one of those
Yep. I just got a pro fx and love it.
20k TOPS.... I want to know what people are doing for a living these days to afford these things. I own my home and everything outright ..ZERO bills minus the basics and cant justify these prices
It's an inclosed Wolverine...wow
I wish Polaris offered Apple CarPlay.
also we test drove it and the interior noise is much more than any reviewer has let on. Very high revving engine, we also disagree with how the machine looks - very stubby looking.
🔥🔥🔥
So the lower models come wi th a winch but the upper models don't? Why am I paying 40k loaded but then spending another 1000 for a winch. No heated seats at that price point . ,like don't ask premium pricing and then skimp out.
Finally a review of the machine, its options and features! Just tell us about the machine! Good information for the consumers who are interested in what IT IS and not "what it compares to" or what "class its in". Kawasaki can say its in the Lunar Lander class for all I care. When I was shopping for my first OHV I made mention of some of the machines I was considering and was chastised by "class and comparison" nazis that informed me what machines I was not allowed to compare, like it was their money and that their opinion mattered. Online "opinions" are about worth what you pay for them. The real question is, are those "opinions" payed for by someone else?
Whoever comes up with the names for the Kawasaki sxs’s must secretly work for the opposition.
Honda talon...
That Ridge has more power than the KRX. So saying that KRX is not useful in these conditions because you can’t go flat out is hilarious.
You do realize the power can be used differently through the clutching between a ridge (work machine) and a KRX right?
They're like little single cab trucks, crazy that for 30k you're buying an automobile that you can't drive on the road
Minus the highway, most streets are legal in Wisconsin.
It’s lb-ft not ft-lb
Foolish money
Is Tfl working with toyota on a pre-approved video about the tacoma problem?
So glad I bought a Bronco instead of Tacoma.
@@jaspajones7045 the previous tacomas are legendary. That is why this is so disappointing.
@@janetairlines1351 yup agreed
@@jaspajones7045I’ve seen more broncos break CV axles than Tacomas 😂😂
Yeah you have to put thousands into a bronco to make it bulletproof they break constantly from the factory
Ain’t nobody buying these with any sense anymore at these prices
9K?? You guys got a great looking Tahoe!! For your next trick I challenge you find a second gen (1991-2002 I believe) Isuzu Trooper.
What the hell are these prices!? HARD PASS.
It’s just another business expense for me. Pretty cheap compared to the $127 per acre to fertilizer my spring corn crop + $129 per acre for corn seed + $330 in diesel per tractor per day. Hell, I might get 2.
@davek9378 it's hard reasoning with apartment dwelling city folk.
@@davek9378 Yes! Our input costs are way high! I will plant 700 acres of soy beans and no corn this year in southern Michigan. And a really nice farm truck is around 90k. I watched the Ridge video and I ordered a Ridge Limited. At my age, I appreciate value, and this machine is loaded with value. It will be used on my farm and on trails so I wont have to use my truck and get it scratched and it is not as much fun to drive as a SXS.
Heated seats, this world has gotten way to soft
I just don’t want to wear a helmet
Thank you for not following the Kawawaki script that this is a Sport/Rec that competes with the RMAX/General/Commander. It's a Rec/Ute and good competition for the Ranger/Defender.
Still hung up on the RMAX I see? 😂😂😂
No thanks. Would buy a jeep.
I'd buy a used
Power windows??? And it's not street legal. $30k ! WTH!
Just buy a used Jeep.
In Wv it can be street legal if you list it on your taxes with your they send you a sticker to put on it
Good to know. But I'd still buy a jeep. Take care
@@mcmillan1963 I have a 1993 wrangler and a 1954 M38A1. Jeeps I have just need another toy no a/c on the 54 lol
$30K what a complete joke!!
And still less capable than a 5k samurai
Commenters in tfl everything, "who needs all these awesome features? It's too much! " and "why aren't prices like the 80's?" My favorite is, "why spend all that money when i can get a 30 year old shitbox pickup for 3 grand? "
I'd say you have more $ than you have sense, but honestly I think you're a broke fanboy.
I wanna know who actually buys these that dont have f u money from dumb things lmao
Lost all interest at that price. Looks like a 8k vehicle to me
Weaksauce, its like a Rhino 😊
I don't think it's a good idea to make the side-by-side's too quiet inside like street cars that are completely sound and envioment insulated. You don't realize how fast you are driving. If you're in a fully enclosed side-by-side with sound deadening air conditioning stereo, you could get yourself in big trouble on some of these trails not realizing how fast you're going
Man that's the worst comment I've see yet! 😅... in a time where all of these are too loud we need a quiet machine!
no it's not, I said inside the cab not outside, if you're too insulated from the outside, you don't realize how fast you're driving.
@patd4u2 in Michigan we ride these day in day out on bad weather and good. You get tired of the drone noise. If you don't rise much and don't know - then you don't know what speed you're driving. I get it.
People probably train that out pretty soon, they can’t just wreck every day.
I learned to drive back in 1972 in a Datsun pick up. And you could not hear the stereo inside the cab when you were going 55 miles an hour on the highway, now you're driving 75 miles an hour in a completely soundproof interior and you do not realize how fast you're driving, I think that's why it's dangerous to have a two well insulated cab in the side-by-side's.
Lol nope, according to western propaganda, this is a golf cart. 😂😂😂
wah wah wah all the price whiners out there and claims of six figure salaries. Well if you make six figures you have a two figure brain, everything costs more. Price a 15 year old fishing boat or diesel truck. I have a 22 general XP 4 all loaded up and it cost more than this rig. I'm considering trading it in for a sealed cab I can tell you that. Stop teh price whining, you sound like a bunch of UTV Karens!
I think a V8 is minimal for such a vehicle. And one definitely needs at least a 100 mph vehicle for off-roading. Also key components like satellite guidance system. Airbags, subwoofer, huge speakers of at least 400 watts. Wouldn't that be nice. Dear God we've become a spoiled culture. What a waste
The Eagles are the worst for taking down videos.
YOU DON'T HAVE TO CONSTANTLY YELL WHEN YOU SPEAK FFS
Nothing sporty about it. Kawasaki really missed the mark 👎👎
No one cares about the toy.. when is the Tacoma diagnosis episode uploading?
I have seen other reviews by people that give honest reviews and the reviews are not very good I know you guys try to never say any thing bad because you suck up to the manufactures and never give a honest review you are more of a huckster channel so I wont waste my time watching this whole video
Not that impressive, looks like it rides terrible.
Too much movement of your helmet mounted camera made me dizzy. Even the transition when you’re showing features up close it’s s too fast. Please slow down!
