- Fleetwood Mac is the tenth studio album by British-American rock band Fleetwood Mac, released on 11 July 1975 by Reprise Records. It was the band's second eponymous album, the first being their 1968 debut album. Among Fleetwood Mac fans, the album is often referred to as The White Album.[12] This is the first Fleetwood Mac album with Lindsey Buckingham as guitarist and Stevie Nicks as vocalist, after Bob Welch departed the band in late 1974. The album was also the band's last to be released on the Reprise label until 1997's The Dance (the band's subsequent albums until then were released through Warner Bros. Records, Reprise's parent company).
The album peaked at number one on the US Billboard 200 chart dated 4 September 1976, 58 weeks after entering the chart.[13] The album also spawned three top twenty singles: "Over My Head", "Rhiannon" and "Say You Love Me", the last two falling just short of the top ten, both at number 11. The album was certified seven times platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for sales of over seven million copies.[14] The album eventually peaked at number 23 on the UK Albums Chart but was a prelude to a run of hugely successful albums for the band in Britain, including four number ones: Rumours, Tusk, Tango in the Night and Behind the Mask.

R.I.P. To Christine McVie. One of the most iconic, beautiful, and angelic voices in music , period!. Every guy growing up in the 70's heard her voice all over the radio. And we fell in love with her. Songbird, Don't Stop, Everywhere, I could go on and on. Too many great songs that we know(by heart), and love. She will always be remembered and missed.
Here! Here! Saw FM live in 77 and the Tusk tour in 1979. Chris was the perfect counterpoint to Lindsay and Stephanie. Truly one of the great rock legends. We are all in her debt. So many beautiful memories.
RIP! Go Your Own Way Christine!
...and kind of gutsy in a way?
I agree, i grew up then, and was searching for answers. All those songs were great, and I was already in love with her beautiful piano and voice.....I had all of the answers.....at least as far as the ladies are concerned!....she tuaght me so much....to slow down and be sensetive....well, we all get older , children get older,
her love, iI willl be sensative that and not act like some dumbb-ass frat-boy.....It is too good to be missed
This album was my oldest sister back in the days, she is in heaven , every time I hear F.Mac I think of her.R.I.P.💕.
r.i.p. makes me think of my mom..we had the cd version of this album ..whenever someones rll hot on the 'rumours' album im like >_> check out their self-titled
This album, plus Rumors, were 2 essential albums you had to have in the 70's
@@bigsky3072 Yes indeed, the first in the front of my milk-crate of 33's.....essential.
Who could forget when this came out and the old Fleetwood Mac died and reinvented itself with the sexy and talented Lyndsey and Stevie. Both with very British names. Buckingham and Nicks. 😅
I don’t even understand people who don’t like Fleetwood Mac ….definitely one ☝🏽 of the G.O.A.T. Bands
GOAT discussions are fun, but rarely does such a thing actually exist, since "Greatest of All Time" is a very subjective thing.
Agree. Every member of the band brought something special to the enterprise. How so much talent stayed together for so long is a miracle in itself. R.I.P. Christine Perfect. There will never be another.
@Harold Hale is it, really?
If u don't like fleetwood mac you don't like Christmas. SMH.
I personally love the Peter green era however I grew up with this so I’m subjective to all eras I think it’s overall a great band

Thank you very much! Such beautiful music!!!

R I P Christine
This needs upvoting to the top or pinning
Thanks! I love it when people take the time to do the time stamps like this.
When I first saw Fleetwood Mac in the 70's I never at first realised just what a fantastic group they were, and that they would become a sort of soundtrack to my life. At 67 I still cherish seeing and hearing them perform, but only later in life have I appreciated Christine's beautiful voice and stunning melodies. We were very lucky to have someone of such talent bless us all with such musical brilliance. R.I.P Christine what a legacy you left us all.
I have listened to this album since I was a kid. 45 yrs later, I will listen to it till I die with you Christine
"Say You Love me" is awesome! 1970's Rock at its best! This song WAS the '70's!
I was 15 when this came out......I went back to school, and learned what is possible to play a song , a song that describes what your feeling....Christine macvie you are an older beautiful lady, and i dont mean maybe!!.........
Christine McVie had such a beautiful voice as well…when Lindsey and Stevie joined in and they became the Fleetwood Mac that made these 2 phenomenal albums it was like otherworldly forces brought them together to form something magical!!! I love this album but then they did Rumors and they were ejected into stardom…and then Stevie Nicks solo albums-what a beautiful voice and the songwriting was out of this world ❤️❤️❤️
Great album , love the Christine Mcvie songs. Goodbye to a beautiful spirit! Gave us beautiful music to last forever.
Rest in peace longtime Fleetwood Mac member and fab songwriter, Christine McVie. Thanks for posting Fleetwood Mac's perfect album.
Any party you went to in the mid to late 70's had this album playing. Everybody would get up and dance. Those were the days.
Yes absolutely right, sad that we do not have the same amount of talent available today. That said the talent around the 60's and 70's was insane. Miss those day dearly.
I really miss those carefee (camerafree) days!
wish I was alive back then 😭
Back then they were musicians! Now you have a bunch of bimbos behind computerized vocals who can’t play an instrument.
Don't remember dancing but remember being in a friend's bedroom with some sitting and some on bed smokin a doob listening. I think I was 15 when it came out.
This is one of those albums that you just let the whole thing play.
That sums it up all right. And on my new MacBook Air it sounds fantastic. The sound on the Air is 1000 % better than the sound on my MacBook Pro. Sounds ethereal even.
@@devakikaren still sounds great on my dell 1530; had to give up the windows 7 ultimate finally
still got my realtek custom audio drivers! loll
no gonna lie though, rihannon always gives me flashbacks to thee live versionnnn where everyone was trippinnnballs
Ewokese FTW
Omg all these people know so much about Fleetwood mac all I know is what I adore and this is it. Hit after hit it's unheard of nowadays. RIP Christine.
one of the world's most forgotten and under-rated albums.
thanks for sharing. and thnx to fleetwood mac as well. : )
Feeling blue today about a lost love. I grew up on this album & it's still healing my soul today. Thanks for posting it.
I was in the 4th grade when this album came out. My teacher at the time was young and would play it often on the turntable we had in the classroom. I was mesmerized! Little did I know at the time that FM would become the musical powerhouse they still are today. I always thought Christine McVie’s voice sounded angelic. R.I.P!💖
I think Christine McVie's voice deserves a mention too 👍
RIP
RIP Christine! 🙏 You were underrated and overlooked by most but were the heart of the group 💓 ♥️
If there ever was an Angel's voice from Heaven here on earth , it would be Christine McVie.
Last concert my daughter Katrina Rose and eye attended was Fleetwood Mac in Portland,Oregon a number of years ago. Christine was not present and eye truly missed her voice and her presence in Fleetwood Mac because it sounded hollow in truth and in reality! God bless you Christine Perfect McVie and sure hope you are singing with our heavenly angels gf! Amen!
Yes agree too because when someone”s line me a true fan seeing concerts First thing when all band members come out on stage you especially want to see EVERYONE ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤.
From Chicken Shack to Fleetwood Mac, Christine McVie brought a certain vulnerability and fragility to through.
This album in particular has been part of the soundtrack of my life since 1975.
Put simply; Christine McVie was one of the good ones and is greatly mourned by millions around the world.
(I always preferred her voice to Stevie Nick's)
Me too
I always preferred her voice to Stevie Nicks also. Hers is deeper and more sexy.
@@sejrec56 Agreed, but both are great!
At the age of 8 y.o. in 1975, I became a rock fan with the hits from this album (thanks to WLS Chicago playing them). -- RIP Christine McVie. 😞
I remember WLS, and I'm from Madison Wisconsin. I could get it in here. I spent tbe 70's listto that station.
Couldn't agree with you more johnny! Larry lujack never failed!
Just another beautiful part of the 70's music!
I became an adult with this album. I'll never forget how listening to this album with someone I was in love with made me feel. He passed not long after this album was released. when I listen to it now, it still brings me back to being in love. RIP Rick Goveia
''Adult''
@@SuperLuchadorealways gotta find something to complain about 😒
Christine McVie has such an absolutely beautiful voice, especially on Warm Ways with Lindsey’s hauntingly beautiful guitar licks. One of the BEST songs ever!
I think so but it is never mentioned.
What is never mentioned
The talent of McVie/Buckingham is so evident in World Turning: It's hard to tell where one voice stops and the other starts.
Best song on their best album.
One of my favorite albums. Reminds me of senior year in high school. Saw FM in concert in '76
Same here.
This Album is so strong. Simple but powerful. The vocals stand out which is what makes it Such a brilliant listen. Sometimes theres just to much going on in songs when really theres times when you just wanna here the message. What a fabulous song to finish the album. I'd have to say "Im So afraid " is my all time favourite Lindsay song from the Mac.
Everyone talks of "RUMOURS", but not many know of this gem they released before it. I was enjoying this before their second album with Stevie and Lindsey was announced.
Wow, never appreciated the guitar and drum work in this song before. Outstanding!!
I honestly feel that any one of the three vocalists in this group could have easily become a solo smash artist on their own. Together, with the underpinnings of Mick and John, and working all together, it’s no wonder their albums are among the most superb fixtures of our time.
Stevie did not Lindsey nor Christine.
RIP to the beautiful and talented Christine, she was the consummate singer song writer.
"Over My Head" was always a personal favorite of mine off of this classic album...
Especially Christine voice carry the harmony into something something that sends a chill up your spine also her Songbird song
This is amazing I believe I found the Album that got me hooked to Fleetwood Mac and then still remain a True Fan but now follow Stevie Nicks and Christine ❤Christine”s Songbird follows me as I keep her memory to my Last Breath! ❤
I hate to see that Christine has left us to me she is Fleetwood Mac I loved her from the very 1st album and everything she's written since I will miss her
Amazing album by an amazing band, they don't make 'em like they used to.
Rip Christine McVie such a beautiful voice 🙏🕊🕊🕊
From 76 to now...beautiful!... soundtrack of my teens ty
The public largely ignored the original "Landslide" on this disc. Most subsequent covers template the later live version instead. (See Dixie Chicks, etc). This stripped-down version still holds up superbly.
I rushed out and bought this after hearing 'Rhiannon' on the Johnny Walker Show on radio one aged 18 in 1975
I couldn't believe how much they'd transformed since the 'Mr Wonderful' days ( in which they were also incredible with Peter Green's genius guitar work)
But this album was something else, a fresh take on the Brit/California sound..a new line up of flawless, timeless talented individuals from Mick Fleetwood and John McVie.
From the groove of 'Rhiannon' to the serenity of 'Landslide' this album had everything.
Lyndsay Buckingham stepping up to the plate with his guitar prowess, Mick's excellent underated drum work, the genius of co-founder John McVie and of course the girls Christine and Stevie giving the band their unique stamp and of course ..romance.
My vinyl copy was one of those that mysteriously dissappeared over the decades alas, but I still managed to hang on to my copy of 'Rumours'.
I often wondered over the decades whether it ever existed?
The number of times that I pondered whether this legendary album was a figment of my imagination.. my memory playing tricks on me, have just been proven wrong. There was a jigsaw piece missing pre-'Rumours' after all!
Muchos gracias for sharing this.
What a treat hearing it in it's entirety after over 40 years. 👍🏻😎
Harmonies, drums, Lindsey's Guitars- they had it all!
This album is fire! Landslide is so beautiful, my favorite one.
Warm Ways is One of my favorites.
Love this LP! Had it plus Rumours, then Tusk.
Always called this the Fleetwood Mac white album.
Este disco marco el inicio de una leyenda de la música por siempre. Mis amados Fleetwood Mac. No hay otro como ellos. Amen
One of my favorite albums when I was a kid.
i love how this song is great right out of the gate.....no buildup needed
amazing
this album.. its like stumbling across some hidden world of fairytales - the kind we most of us have lost... the sentiments of feeling and humanity each of us may know in our most private inner worlds in love between a man and woman does it still exist.. yes.. lead the way there Stevie & Christie - so real
Love this album! Thanks!
This is the greatest album of all time
@@thegreenbird795 The recording of this album took more than a few weeks. But that is beside the point. Both albums are great. But this one is fresher. They were doing a huge amount of coke while making Rumors.
This album along with Rumours showcased their ability to have hits that have stood the test of time.
My wife's favorite music artist. We saw them at The Pyramid in Memphis circa 1997.
My favorite band as a teenager. Saw them in 1997 in Phoenix on their "The Dance" reunion tour. They were awesome. Glad I took the opportunity to see them. I had never seen them before. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Such memories to these songs
Warm Ways baby , Christine Mc Perfect
Nobody created 70s pop like Lindsey Buckingham.
Thank you so mucn for this Jewel!!!
Forever, forever Love ❤️ RIP Christine McVie
Christine McVie spirits me away to a place of dreams
Absolutely!
This in my opinion is the 2nd album in a trilogy of brilliance starting with the Buckingham Nicks album, then this one (the white album) which is the perfect fusion of two bands, culminating in the Rumours album. I think if you like one you just have to listen to the other two to complete the experience.
Well said sir...I concour.
Los discos de los 80 también están muy bien! 🇪🇦❤️
Buckingham Nicks quite a splendid album; I even have the tee shirt.
Not disagreeing. But love Tusk just as much. Plus the 1980 live album
So sad ! RIP Christine McVie
We'll never stop Dreaming
Love 💕 you 😊

Thank you.
"❤"SENDING LOVE AND LIGHT FROM MY HEART TO YOURS'❤"
Her and Bob Welch were both amazing
Even better than Rumours
Second that. It is more accomplished. No FM-lite snoozers.
BETTER THA RUMOURS...THEY PUT THIS TOGETHER IN JUST A FEW WEEKS...RUMOURS TOOK MONTHS AND MONTHS

This album is great! "Blue Letter"rocks! The parties! The memories! The Drugs! Priceless! It's hard to believe this album is 47 years old!
Great song. Probably would've been a much bigger hit if it wasn't hidden among all the hit tracks of this great album.
@@madcapper6 Agreed
“Blue Letter” is Great, it’s a great album. I don’t know what’s better the album or the memories! Best Times!
@@julenepegher6999 I know! The '70's were a great time to grow up
A lIttle cola, Cuervo and Colombian Gold. Somebody had to do it.
I loved this album when I was a kid, that Bad Company , Steve Miller Band, Heart, Boston all so upbeat then something grungy in the world of Rock music happened 🤟😈💩
did you listen to the Fleetwood Mac song "Murrow Turning Over In his Grave" or "Come", both by Lindsey Buckingham and from 2003? I think he somehow managed to adjust to the grungy development...
The Mac, Boston, Springsteen, Eagles. The 70s rocked!
This troupe always hit the note
R I P Christine Mcvie 🙏
Do you know if this album has been remastered ("Rumours" has, and this one is very close to being just as good!)!
That is one tasty bass track on Crystal. 👏 John McVie 👏
Mum tipped me off when I was a kid - thanks mum 😀
R.I.P Christine McVie....
♥♥♥
This loud thru real headphones > 13:36
Anyone but me think this album has "Rumors" beat hands down?
it doesn't have Go Your Own Way or The Chain or Gold Dust Woman or Daddy on it so... not quite yet
You couldn't have one without the other
Yes, I do, however, Rumors means more to me because of a special someone…
I agree. Rhiannon and Landslide are the best songs Stevie Nicks ever wrote. Nothing on Rumors matches these. Over My Head and Say You Love Me are two of Christine McVie's finest. Definitely a superior album IMHO.
It is better. More accomplished w/out the FM-lite tracks of its follow-up. This is closer to the great "Buckingham-Nicks".
I'd rather have this album over it's excessively played follow up any day. Hands down.
I think it is a better record. More accomplished, it lacks the FM-lite snoozers on Rumours.
Does anyone have this version of Blue Letter? i can't find it anywhere
RIP Christine.
Is this record better than "Rumours"? For one thing, I don't hear any FM-lite tracks on "Fleetwood Mac".
Crystal ❤
This was recorded at sound city as was Nirvana's Nevermind I have both albums
I can’t listen to it anymore . Please check it.
sorry ,too many since this album was released focused on Stevie and that's OK however you cannot deny Lindsey's musical contribution here and since as well as Christine McVie's beautiful vocal's and talents as well... its NOT all about Stevie people but she would like yo to think that .....RIP Christine !
The Fleetwood Mac White Album.
Had this album
"Hate this album". Sorry to correct you.
Magic end! Little bit from progressive rock? Magic voices...
Disco muito bom que marca o renascimento do FM, só não gosto é da "Landslide" (a faixa mais fraca deste LP para mim). Destaco "Monday Morning", "Rhiannon" e "Say You Love Me". Como eu disse, o disco é muito bom, mas ainda prefiro muito mais o Rumours...
This album saved pop-rock music. Much better than over-rated Beatles! They are so complex!
😢
first you love me
Is it me or is this just the prequel to Go Your Own Way?! 🤔
Could it be that I actually saw this band with this lineup here open up for The Ramones or was I simply space-dreaming?...
Mmmmmmmm….the Ramones 😊
wow
uh- no
Good melodies go together.
Interesting when Buckingham first joined Fleetwood Mac, they wanted only him, and he told them he’s a package deal with Stevie Nicks.
My brother was with me in my van and said that he liked anything but rap , country and Fleetwood Mac . I replied then you don’t appreciate great music 🤬
I get the rap part 😂
I get the rap and the country part.
