I goofed when talking about Ted's cheeseburger they use cheddar NOT mozzarella. I've edited out the mistake to avoid misinformation. Frankly, Ted's cheese was very bland which is why I mistook it. Taking that into consideration I think K.Lamay's with the sharp cheddar is better.
Here’s the history…… I’m from that area and grew up eating at Ted’s. A young teen named Kevin worked for Ted’s, he learned how to make the burgers from working there, the cheese is a secret (people in Connecticut LOVE it), Kevin never got the details on the company they get the cheese from. Kevin went and opened K LeMays. I personally dislike the VERY salty and overly sharp cheese at LeMay’s. The bun is like having a small burger inside two birthday cakes. Ted’s is light and fluffy and you can actually get away with eating two! That’s just my opinion and a little Ted’s not so known history 😊
Back in the day when Ted's had different rolls, which I think they may have gotten from a local bakery, I liked them better. Now I prefer K Lamays hands down.
Both places look delicious, nice review Sir, Ted's uses a vienna bun/roll & either Wisconsin or Vermont white mild cheddar, K's bun is a little to much bread/bun, but I'm sure they use an aged sharp cheddar from Wisconsin or Vermont, the 2 best states for quality cheese, I'd eat either one.😅
when you say breadier, do you men fluffier or firmer? Or is it how the flavor is? I know Ted's steamed cheeseburgers fell apart into basically mush the last time I ate there and the flavor of the beef was very bland, no salt, no pepper and a very hydrated beef most likely before they steamed it. This kind of ground beef has been going around since covid started and I think it is because the meat companies have been injecting water into the meats to profit more, then the prices all went up due to covid and the end result is burgers that cos more and easily fall apart. . Is the K Lamay's beef more flavorful and not so liquidy that it turns to mush while eating it?
Steamed burgers don't taste good. I don't like the taste of steamed burgers. If you like steamed burgers, that's fine, but I don't like a steamed burger. Steaming at the last step can make the cheese melt and taste good. It not healthier. It's not going to be healthy since it is a burger, but when you steam the burger, the slimy fat stays on. And, they don't scrape that off.
Hi, just wondering. When you compared k lamays steamed cheeseburger to Ted's, you mentioned k lamays cheese was better and Ted's bread was better, was Ted's bread softer than K lamays bread?
I would say so. Ted's bread was softer, kind of like it was a potato bun (not sure if it is though). K lamays isn't necessarily hard, but I would say by comparison it isn't as soft.
Ive done Teds from back in the day when Charlie Brown was on the building 45 years ago in that time i tryd k lamay's one time and to me it tasted like GOYA Seasoning on the meat turnrd me off. So im still buy teds when i come back for Christmas EVERY YEAR......

Teds is the original. When the family sold it the new owners are using a cheaper cheese
That's right.
Ya know these hamburgers are quite similar to the ones they have at Krusty Burger.
"Haha no, patented Skinner burgers. Old family recipe."
@@DaltonSwett for steamed hams??? 😐
@@AddMoreQuarters Yes.
@@ArcturusOTE and you call them steamed hams despite the fact they're obviously grilled.
@@AddMoreQuarters y-you know... one thing you should know...
'scuse for one second.

I think it 's important to clarify to populus that the cheese is also steamed .
Looks like the LeMay’s bun is a bit too big for the amount of burger meat?

Well I'm from Utica and I've never heard anyone use the phrase "steamed cheeseburgers"
What about Louis Lunch
Ehhhhh it's okay.
Ted's does not use mozzarella cheese, their cheese is also cheddar. Ted's is the best!
White cheddar?
Great video
Ted's is awesome. I remember going there

lots of people, including myself, think ted's cheese tastes like mozzarella. if it's cheddar then it's an extra mild cheddar.
The sharpness of K lamays can be too much, still good though
Ted's to me is heaven every bite, Definitely Ted's for me.
Teds for sure both good tho
Best pizza place in ct is modern and colony grill
❤
LaMay's>Ted's
Cheddar not mozzarella
Teds all the way k lemays cheese tastes sour i dont like it, the hawaii 5.0 is the best burger at Teds
yup. That was my problem with Klamays. That being said both burgers are overrated.
@@mr.nobody9697 yeah my family just has the steamer to make them
Raw onion is revolting!!!!!
I can't stand it either. People need to understand, onions are for cooking.
