    I didn’t expect Emma Stone to win. I was one of the few that were expecting Lily Gladstone to win. Poor things has a great beginning and end, as well as great cinematography and genius editing. The pacing took a dip in the middle when Bella was travelling all around Europe. Ongoing sexuality and full frontal nudity are my only little problems. Other than that, the film is an absolute masterpiece.

    Very creative movie and a role that shows how women who are infantilized in a patriarchal society are more admired than a woman with an opinion and intellect. She did a wonderful job and her evolution is so well done.

    "Poor Things" and Emma Stone were sensational! I loved this film, and everything about it. The story was intriguing, the film was shot beautifully -- a feast for the eyes -- and all of the performances were top notch. The best film of the year, and Emma Stone's finest performance of her career. I was pleasantly surprised to see her deserving Oscar win as Best Actress!

    Absolutely brilliant film and very restorative of the human spirit.
    Huge props to the entire cast especially Emma Stone who I empathised with in this film I feel a para-social bond with now.
    Bella becomes Human over the course of the film and becomes a very free and resolved human.
    Very inspiring.

    I watched it last night. I'm in love with the dance scene. Emma and Mark are phenomenal actors. I don't dislike the film overall, but have a strong uneasiness with some of the sex scenes - did they have to be soo literal? Mentally, she still is a child at the time. I can't shake that off just for the sake of it's an art film. Kudos to you, Emma Stone for full 100% committment to this character.

    Although I was hoping that Lily Gladstone would win, I'm happy that Emma Stone took the Oscar home. She had to play an infant who gradually matures in the body of an adult woman, while finding her own agency and independence, which is no easy feat, yet she pulled it off with aplomb.

      It was fine. I'm Just Ken and John Cena naked was funny. However, the downside for me was Jimmy Kimmel himself and him roasting RDJ. I'm happy RDJ won as he deserves it, but my main problem was Jimmy thinking it would be a good idea to bring up his drug addiction. I'm all for people joking about addiction, it just depends on how well it's executed. I don't know who's worse when it comes to mentioning RDJ’s past with addiction: Jimmy Kimmel or Martin Bashir. But then again, Jimmy was the same man who joked about Chris Benoit being a better father than Flavor Flav. If you don't know who Chris Benoit is, he was a Canadian professional wrestler who gained infamy for killing his wife and 7-year-old son before committing suicide.

    • @trinaq
      @trinaq 5 місяців тому +1

      @@kamsismith Agreed, Kimmel really should have read the room, and sussed out that Downey felt uncomfortable with his past drug addiction being brought up. He'd done so well with getting sober, and nobody would have blamed him had he tried to pull a Will Smith 2.0. Fortunately, he remained calm. A lot of people have been talking about how Downey apparently snubbed Ke Huy Quan when he tried to present him with an envelope after winning the Oscar. I don't think that Downey met any harm by it, and that he was just overwhelmed with having to give a speech to an entire room. There's even a picture of the two hanging out after the ceremony, no hard feelings between them.

    • @kamsismith
      @kamsismith 5 місяців тому +1

      That's what I was thinking too, but thankfully, nothing happened. I'm glad he won and is still getting the love he first received when he got sober and became Iron Man. Hopefully, more opportunities will come for him.
