@@ricardoe4215 He obviously means in terms of being iconic. He also doesn't have a large metal armour which he uses to breathe, in case you were unaware. And CSM was depressed and had nothing/nobody. In his episode in season 4 it's shown that he would like a second chance or an opportunity to go back and undo everything he's done.
In this dialogue, CSM says that he has TWO sons: Mulder and Spender. And he speaks about THEIR SONS also. Everyone knows Mulder is William's biological father but no one knows if Spender has children also. Maybe he does. During the whole season 11, i didn't believe at all the red herring about CSM being potentially William's "father". Because it's just not believable nor plausible and it makes no sense to the show nor to the characters. In season 7 episode En Ami, CSM was terminally ill, he had a lung cancer. He had gone multiple treatments so his ability to conceive would be totally crippled especially at his old age. I believe his words have been at face value. It's actually believable that Skinner wouldn't question his words as much as Mulder and Scully do because Skinner still remains vulnerable to CSM manipulations and mind games. All of this was played out in the season 11 finale so vaguely that it was just too FANTASTIC aka Mulder's words. I believe that CSM restored Scully's fertility by activating the chip in her neck and send her back to Mulder to get pregnant by him. CSM was talking to her about her undying love for Mulder, planting a seed in her head and he was also talking about wanting to leave a legacy behind him. Legacy means grandchildren. CSM is directly responsible Scully getting pregnant by Mulder, he manipulated the situation to get them to conceive William.
I was always took whatever CSM said with grain of salt, he's one of those characters that always seemed to have a plan - playing the long game, being extremely skilled in the art of manipulation and Psychological Operations the way he uses people is purely meticulous - playing on their feelings and emotions (the perfect spy) - I remember specifically in that episode you mentioned, CSM's ultimate goal was to eliminate a leak - he tricked Scully into thinking there was this magical cure for cancer that this particular contact was trying to provide Scully, but in reality it was all a manipulation to eliminate a leak within their "organization", the entire thing was all a charade to make Scully think it was believable which was an immense feat considering at that point in the show by Season 7 he had been known already by Mulder and Scully to be a liar.
I think the X Files from the 1st series up to the first movie were great! Having said that, season 8 & 9 with Robert Patrick in it weren't bad an agent Dogett was well played by Robert. Season 10 & 11...just baffling.
Interesting...it seems to me CSM had more influence and power than it was shown on the previous X files in which we saw CSM as a low ranking member of the syndicate...
King Sean I think what we saw of him in My Struggle II was our version of the CSM. His injuries and disfigurements would be consistent with having a middle launched at you. But I think starting with season 10 we are seeing a parallel universe. And MS2 was a vision Scully had of the universe we know. Similar things are happening between the two universes but with some differences like CSM’s appearance the difference in Reye’s behavior(she seemed reluctant and without a choice in MS2 but seemed very compliant in MS3) and the fact that CSM wanted Mulder to take the antidote in MS2 but wanted him dead in MS3.
Ben Harper well thats a good answer considering the fact that both CSM and Jeffrey Spender somehow have access to classified information within U.S goverment...
I loved Season 11 but every episode seemed kinda incomplete and abstract, especially episode 1. Perhaps that was the point, to show the madness of the modern post truth world.
What I wanna see is Karma getting him. His smoking habit will take it's toll on him and his health will deteriorate. he'll have COPD, Emphysema and other illnesses caused by smoking
Nah! It would be a twist if he actually was dead. The whole way it was shot was deliberately ambiguous too, the way Mulder just shoved him in the water instead of popping one through his skull was highly suspect too.

He will always be known as the Darth Vader of the X-Files.
Spoiler comment tho!
@@browndemon386 Wait what
it doesn't work like that. Actually, Vader hated himself and was very depressed because he lost everything and everyone. He was a slave.

I don't understand why CSM is no longer disfigured in this new season, have the producers given an explanation or is it just an inconsistency?

Not having both Scully & CSM in season 12 would be an X Files not worth watching.
