- At last! After years of trying I have met up with my friend Nick Burnham @AQUAHOLIC to take a tour of a yacht together. And what a yacht it is! Canados have done a great job of designing their new explorer style 143' with a layout totally different to anything I...or Nick...have ever seen.

This is such a relief! Finally, a collaboration that includes personal opinion! I appreciate the fact of being impartial whether due to monetary enumeration or absolutely no opinion. But, it must be refreshing to be able to not only share this with a colleague, but to offer personal opinion. Especially of the uniqueness of each vessel. This really allows ME to applaud myself for having the foresight to number you two as my favorite critics. Press on, gentlemen, and continue loving your career! (Not a job!)

Great to see Nick and David. What a contrast in style but both work very well. Suit their watchers. Nick seems to potter around showing all types of boats worldwide, to people who like boats and boating life. David is selling high end luxery boat worldwide. Both very knowledgeable with lots of stories. Great video.
Oh and a fabulous boat with an very interesting layout particularly the owner's cabin. Thanks gentlemen and Slav the excellent camera man.

Ah this was amazing. David and Nick. It was like watching Nadal and Federer playing doubles in a charity match and showing that its not competition, its one united passion and everyone with that passion is family !
Fun to see the two of you together on a yacht. Since he's always behind the camera I never realized how tall Nick is 😄 Refreshing to hear some 'chat' and opinions rather than 'presenting'.

I love your attitude, you mentioning that taste is individual, how nice it is when yachts are a little bit different than the standard layout, the fact that you have a WhatsApp group and seeing Nick's „clownface“ - usually is better to focus on the boat but seeing you both sharing your insides is fantastic!
In general I think you two (+partner in Nick's case or team in David's) have the best strength to let other people talk to and to give them space on your channel!

Ahhhhhh. Yes. Those types of people who think / feel / believe / know better than the boat's owner as to what design and/or style would work best.
They never cease to amaze me. Why are they not designers themselves?
This? I agree. You're onboard to recharge the batteries, refill the fuel tank. You need to be able feel comfy enough to just plonk yourself down and sigh in relief.

The classic (standard, typical, pick your word) yacht layout is classic for the simple reason that it is by virtue of test of time, the most effective, efficient layout for a yacht. I have nothing against yachts that do things differently, but I find doing things differently 'for the sake' of doing things differently, rarely works well. Often the different yachts are yachts I would reject.
The devil is in the details, how much space is allocated to various functions, what is done with hallway space, how the crew can circulate, how much and where is the storage space, etc.. Even the classic layouts can have enormous variety with how they store tenders and such that can have massive ramifications on the interior, as can some engine systems, like a hybrid electric permitting extraordinary options for beach clubs.
I remain very cognisant of how the decor 100% reflects the taste of the owner. I do pay attention to the decor with a mind to what I might steal for my own yacht build, but it is extremely rare that a yacht decor comes close to what I would personally prefer.
LAYOUTS MAYBE SET FOR SIZE AND QUALITY , BUT THE FEEL IS THE BEST FROM YOUR GENTELMENS visuals and comments it makes the set all the better and your humor is perfect, Thank You so much. how long have all of you been friends?
We were in touch through email years ago, but quite a few UA-camrs in the yachting space all got together a couple of years ago at the Cannes Yacht Show. We’ve all remained friends since 😁

The yacht is well designed and has great Italian style. The color scheme is neutral so should appeal to the largest number of people. You both are correct that the general arrangement must be driven by the owner’s family size and the boat’s mission. I would love adding the submarine to this vessel and i agree that the upper deck bar would better face out to sea. Thanks for an effective collaboration. I appreciated the honest feedback on the pros and cons of this yacht. It still is a good looking vessel.
On water tight doors, the metal piece that exerts pressure to close the door is “dogged down” meaning it is tightened to a maximum extent in order to avoid water ingress in heavy seas.
Enjoyed so much this collaboration aka the banter and the yacht is stunning.

I 100% agree with Nick. Having the owner's deck take the place of a sky lounge, on a LARGER YACHT that is they key, makes it great, especially aft facing. I never understand the forward facing master cabins. I would never want a forward facing cabin unless it was on a much smaller yacht.
Now you two old men are the last of the summer wine for boats😂 you’ve got to do more of these. So which one is Compo😁😁 a great video really cheered me up no end.

I really like the comment to customization around the ninth minute by Dave. Real luxury is choice, and the builders Dave mentions (CRN, Rossinavi, Feadship, and Lurrsen) are about that. There is some builders who can bring some customization in smaller sizes, Canados is one them for example. Unfortunately we live in a standardized World, with the majority of the people not being able to grasp what customization is about. Probably one can only grasp it when he has a certain wealth, and be able to choose, while the others probably do not even knot it exists.
Great to see David after so long, last time l saw him was on the Astondoa. l missed this 2 weeks ago but no idea why.
