I grew up here and always considered moving out, But now im 21 and working and I realise how affordable Chennai really is. You can live comfortably. I have travelled around India and internationally and truly found that the food is very affordable here. Its also much much safer here, though conservative, majority of the people are educated. The infrastructure and culture is getting really good. Nothing beats the feeling of home here in Chennai

Chennai is seriously underrated. Having lived in this city since birth, I can get that you may find it hot and humid, but each city has its own drawbacks- I think the one city that comes very close to having an eclectic balance in what you need to raise a good family, and have the right balance of inclusivity, culture, tradition, entertainment, safety, pollution-free environment is Chennai. No other Indian city comes close. In recreation, infra, and global connectivity it can improve, but other than that- we are doing well for ourselves!

Kamasutra was written by a celibate monk, Vatsayana. He says all kama acts are to be performed between married couples only. For men, all women (except the wife) are mothers and sisters. When Rick and Korbin quote the Kamasutra, they don't seem to understand the deep-rooted sense of Dharma along with kama that is in Sanatan. It's not free for all, multiple partners, sex before marriage that is now popular. That is not to say, you don't have the freedom to choose your own partner. Rick and Korbin have attained surface knowledge of our culture and now sit on judgements over things they have no hopes of understanding. Like they had done about the royal families of India.

Most Hindu gods are depicted with more than one spouse - Shiva: Parvati and Ganga, Vishnu: Sridevi and Bhoodevi (Krishna avatar has 16008 wives/ partners including Radha who's also older than Krishna. Rukmini and Satyabhama are the main or primary wives). I can go on and on... Shiva also mates with Vishnu when he sees him in the female form and this is described in Skanda puranam and also depicted in many temple art (not referring to khajuraho here but to plenty of mainstream Shiva and Vishnu temples in South India). Chidambaram Lord Nataraja temple and Guruvayur Sri Mammiyur temple are at least two famous and ancient temples where I've seen those graphic mural paintings and it's there for anyone visiting to see...

Mumbai has the best auto drivers who goes by meters, so thats a kind of big shock for any Chennaite..3. Monsoon in Mumbai is something else which Chennai cannot ever dream of handling it..If the amount of rain that Mumbai gets, pours in Chennai, the city will sink in 3 days...4. The green cover..Mumbai is way greener than Chennai..5. Broad minded people 6. Night life 7. Great getaways.. These are the points that Mumbai fares well than Chennai...Thats why Chennaites say that they have never experienced anything like this..Even I love Mumbai.. that doesnt mean Chennai is bad. Both are great cities.. Lets look at where Chennai fares well.. 1. Better beaches..Handsdown.. 2. More laid back..3. Cleaner than Mumbai..4. Less crowded 5. Lesser cost of living..6. Excellent and affordable medical facilities 7. Roads are great and traffic is less in comparision..

Well, it's under-rated because there's probably nothing there to over-rate. And as for the olive-ridley turtle hatchlings part, there are other places in the country where those hatchlings can be spotted. On the western coast places such as Velas in Maharashtra. A turtle festival is organised over there every year between Feb- April, a must visit for sure.

Imo.. i have studied in 10 schools in my life near kerala border and have met many keralites... Kerala has the most self trumpetting, unreliable people with great eloquence but not trust worthy..they help only other mallus , mingle among themselves, identify themselves as mallus everytime and dont identify themselves with broader segments of humanity.. rather than place with inclusiveness 🎺 ..
They have good natural resources and hence economy. They have good education and disciplined in work but they go to any extent to complete their agenda. They are good at emotional intelligence and are good at hiding their real emotions and thoughts.
Ps : this comment is on average from what I have noted and will have exceptions on the ends of the bellcurve distributionlike anything else. Completely subjective based on my life experiences and not meant to hurt anyone but to spread awareness (sorry to say : against believing them)
They can be good friends if u have mutual benefits and if you are alert.
This may sound like hate speech slightly. Sorry for that but when what is shown is different from reality we have to talk about things on the other side of the spectrum to bring about a balance and closeness /proximity with the reality

I moved from Lucknow to Chennai for 7 months for my Master's internship back in 2016. I loved the city because of the food, beaches and the affordability for a student. The few downsides which I couldn't ignore while living there was the super hot and humid weather (got sick a lot initially) and traffic (one time i spent 2h in the bus for 11kms). People were little distant in the beginning but after some extra efforts and patience I made one friend to hang out but it wasn't easy and smooth to socialize for me because of language barrier. It was a memorable trip in the end including both good and bad experiences.
