The ECU is in the cutout space of the fender under the seat - with fins on it. The BCM is that rectangular thing between the fender and the back wheel. Great video - no other video on UA-cam compared to this video for removing the rear wheel, swingarm, shocks, etc ... Thanks for taking the time to make this!
@@KnobleMoto Yes, it is - in fact, once I got back there I found mine had some road rash on it where apparently at one point in its history my newly acquired bike didn't have a mud flap between the BCM and the tire. Seems to work fine, so no permanent damage. Had a question - in the service manual, it shows a vague picture of the rear ABS sensor at a 90 degree angle to the caliper arm - and makes it appear that the sensor goes on with the end of the wire up above that arm and the stop pin resting on the top and the wheel spinning forward would support that as well. As you showed, its never too late to reroute that wire to that connector behind the mud flap ... but do you have a picture or another bike where you could confirm which way that sensor wire runs? I may have to make a run to a Harley dealership and hope to find a used Softail from that era with ABS to find out.
On my dyna, it wouldn’t fit, so I generally don’t bother with that plate. Plus most people are using a jack on the ground, so I wanted to make it as relatable as possible.

Seems like a vulnerable spot to put the bcm, but I guess it works 😂
Thank you very much, and you are welcome.

@@TheOmegalope I would try google image. Someone is likely to have a photo of that.
Cool video but why didnt you pull the rear wheel plate on the lift to drop the wheel instead of jacking it up to get it out?
