Our family did a private tour with Sequoia Tours to explore Sequoia National Park, and we'd highly recommend this to other families as well! Booking a private tour guide, or taking a guided tour is often one of the best ways to explore a national park.
You are able to learn so much more about the park than you otherwise would on a guided tour...even down-time driving from Point A to Point B becomes learning time, and our guide from Sequoia Tours did such a great job engaging everyone in our family from the adults to our youngest child.
Make sure to take advantage of tours, forest walks, and other programs offered by the NPS at both Sequoia and Kings Canyon as well. Check the calendar online, and/or at the visitor center(s) when you arrive at the park.
Enjoy your national park adventure! Seeing a grove of sequoias up close and personal should definitely be a family bucket list item for everyone!
