IMO, you haven't fully experienced Gatlinburg until you've visited during "Change of Color" season in the fall. It's fun to rent a big cabin and take the family.
I have been to gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. I prefer Great Smokey Mountain National Park. I feel like many people that visit the area don’t go to the Park. The eleven mile loop of Cades Cove is like stepping back into a beautiful place in the past.
The Smoky Mtns got its name from the Cherokee. They called it "Shaconage" place of blue smoke. Because of the blue mist that hovers above the mountains. Just wanted to give some insight into the why the name was chosen for the Mountains.
I am loving this travel series. I think many of us travel the world to find natures beauty only to realise that beauty abounds in our own countries when we start to explore as you are in this series.
At Christmas time, the sky bridge lights up at night as you walk on it. Gaitlinburg & Pigeon Forge are full of lights at that time of year. Just beautiful. If you want good food & a show, visit The Hatfield & McCoys! All you can eat! Fantastic! Enjoyed watching!
I am so glad you made it to Gatlinburg. It is a neat place to visit. They have so much shopping, things to do and see. Gatlinburg reminds me of the way Myrtle Beach used to be years ago. At the beach you used to stay on Ocean Blvd, and walk everywhere. It is the same in Gatlinburg, just no beach. I love Gatlinburg so much. It has changed alot over the years but it is still beautiful. Cades Cove is beautiful, the Applachian Trail is great for hiking. There are beautiful waterfalls in the Smokies too. I live in North Carolina close to Charlotte, it is a great place to live, close to a big city, 4 hours to the beach and 2 hours to the mountains. Hope yall will come back soon. The fall colors will be coming up soon.
It is so cool seeing you in places where I've been and eating in places we have.. LIving in Southeastern Kentucky, just about 2 or so hours away from Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, we visit there a few times a year. We are going in a couple of weeks for the Jeep Invasion.
One cool thing to do in Pidgeon Forge if your into it, is the Titanic Museum they will not let you film inside but once you go in it is a replica of the Titanic and it has actual artifacts that was retrieved from the Titanic it is really cool.
My boys are now 19 and 22. They go to Gatlingburg and PF every other late September since they were 7 and 10 and they still love it! So much to do and see and eat! Changes of the leaves are breathtaking and vintage cars in PF late September. Love the Skylift at night. Glad y’all having a blast
We love Ole Smokey Moonshine and Whiskey. The Moonshine location has a Behind-The-Still Tour, where you get a brief tour and explanation of the making of moonshine, which includes a tasting session. Very good. I see you found the moonshine pickles. You gotta try the moonshine cherries 🍒. Down the street where I see you were; the Salty Caramel Whiskey is so smooth and has the caramel taste and smell. Our favorite!
i've always wanted to go back!! my first and only trip so far was on a surprise road trip, and we literally just went for dollywood, but man there is so much we missed out on! i'm so glad y'all did this series!! also, to anyone who is wondering, DON'T SLEEP ON DOLLYWOOD! as someone who grew up in The OC, SoCal, i grew up going to theme parks and have a love for rollercoasters - hands down one of the best parks i've ever been too, and this includes orlando!
You guys seem to love road trips. As a lifetime Minnesotan, I highly recommend you come visit my great state-specifically the north shore along Lake Superior, in Duluth, MN. It’s beautiful, and you wouldn’t be disappointed! Along your way, visit the Mall of America in Bloomington.
This is such a great travel series, love it! Gatlinburg has been on my list to visit. Looks so pretty there. What great views on the sky team. Thanks for sharing.
Visited Gatlinburg many years ago on our Harleys rented a cabin outside of town! Gatlinburg has grown so much, great video. You have got to put on your "to do" list to visit Utah.....we are spending the summer here in Helper Utah, took a ride today thru the National Forest, OMG the places you could camp with your van spectacular scenery away from the maddening crowds! You two do an AWESOME job with the video presentations!
The haze on the mountain is where the name Smoky mountains came from, it all looks like it's actually smoke... I'm from Chattanooga and I now live in Alabama bet you can't take the mountains out of the girl cuz we definitely love that.
Do you ever take your kids with you? Would like to hear their point of view on some of these. You should include them, I'm sure other parents would like to hear directly from them as well!

People say 'oh it's so touristy', but isn't that what makes it so fun? Hillbilly golf I still remember playing as a kid.

The doughnut frier is another one of our favorite spots. The coffee is really good.
I know it’s touristy but the Ripley Believe it or Not and it’s Haunted counterpart are good and we always visit the Ripleys Aquarium of the Smokies.
We did Anakeesta last fall. Very nice. It has its own version of the sky bridge that traverses through the woods, and you could see bears.
We just did Anakeesta which was very nice, even did the night time walk which was very well done.
It must be really nice in the fall.
I love both pigeon forge and Gatlinburg. Ripley's believe or not and the aquarium are both amazing

We live in middle Tennessee so we visit several times a year. We never get tired of the area

Chattanooga TN and Highlands NC are also great to add onto a southern road trip if you're interested in foods and views

Skybridge was so much fun we actually did it in the winter and there was snow on the bridge and everywhere it was so cool
Beautiful area. Everything about it feels cozy!
Nice video. Great info. Such a cute place. Beautiful mountains. Thanks and take care.
The cheapest parking in Gatlinburg is the two municipal parking garages at either end of the main street and behind the equarium, for $10 all day.
51 years ago, we spent our honeymoon in PF and Gatlinburg. Been a lot since then and going again in Sept.
Always wanted to go to Gatlinburg! Great video! Looking forward to seeing Mackinac island episode!
Outstanding. Really enjoyed this. Never been to the Smokies
This is such a great travel series, love it! Gatlinburg has been on my list to visit. Looks so pretty there. What great views on the sky team. Thanks for sharing.
Glad you guys had a good time in the PF-Gburg area. We live about 35 miles from PF so we are there probably a little too much.
It was closed for maintenance when we visited. Need to go back. We did a tour of the distillery and tasted them.
One of our favorite places to go.
I've only been once in the winter. I need to book a trip for next summer!
I love the travel series. not always just ship...

Love, love, love your video's
Apple pie is my favorite
There are coupon books thru out the area.
We enjoy this area but this year we are going to Branson, MO. It looks cheaper and we haven't been there in 15 or so years. ❤
Its a fun place if you like sitting in traffic for long periods of time.
Did you go to the arts and crafts district. If not you should it’s a beautiful ride and some great shops.

If only we'd known you were going to Gatlinburg. We have a time share there.
Oh that’s fun!!
Do you ever take your kids with you? Would like to hear their point of view on some of these. You should include them, I'm sure other parents would like to hear directly from them as well!
Drive to the Biltmore and stay a night.
Watch for pedestrians!
Correct spelling is: GREAT SMOKY MOUNTAINS!
