    I purchased 2 of the 1034DX, by brother. They are much more cost effective. I’m able to set one up with black thread, and one with white thread. When sewing on jersey knits, this serger is great! The only thing I have changed, due to poor lighting, is to add a small push button light by attaching the light to a piece of firm plastic and then using two-sided tape, attached it to the base of the thread stand.

      Hi Verita. I agree that the 1034DX is definitely a great buy. Love your idea of adding the extra lighting. I might have to look into that for all my machines.

    Pulled the small thread spools that came with the 1034DX and replaced with larger spools of thread!! The threading is pretty simple, the hardest part is getting fat fingers in tight places.....LOL The tweezers are a must use item when threading!! The CD Video that comes with the machine is very informative of how to thread the machine, has great close ups of detail!!😊

    You are my go to person for my Brother 1034DX. I bought mine a couple months back and have been viewing your videos for tips. You are a very good teacher. You helped this old guy with little to no sewing experience understand and use what appeared to be a very complexed machine. Muchisimas gracias.

    I love your videos and your honest opinions. I’ve been thinking about getting the 1034DX and really appreciate this video to know I don’t have to spend the money on the airflow, and that the 1034DX will do what I am looking for at an affordable price. I purchased the Brother SE1900 about a hear and a half ago after watching several of your videos on that machine. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with all of us!!

    Thanks for your review and the side by side comparison. The Brother servers smallest length (2 millimeter) is not as tight or close as other brands; in which can sew down to one millimeter. When doing the rolled edge, at times I have to use a thicker/heavier thread or drop/lower the knife to make a second pass around the fabric.

    I haven't tried the rolled hem yet on the Airflow 3000, but looking at the manual, I think you may have used the narrow hem settings. I'm looking forward to learning everything I can about this machine, thank you for doing these videos!

    Both Brothers are terrible. I had the 1034DX and had a problem with it. Brought it, one at a time, to a sewing store and two people had a problem with it. So, I returned them. I heard from others that the other is not good also. So, I but the bullet and bought a Victory. Wow! What a gem. It has automatic tension, AUTOMATIC TENSION and JET AIR threading. Worth the money even though it cost more. And the Victory is not big and not noisy or bumpy. So, it proves to be better having one machine instead of two for different colors since the tread changes fast. Excellent stitches from the Victory but the Brother 1034 DX is nothing but problem. BE SURE TO BUY WHERE YOU CAN RETURN IT.

    I've spent nearly 10 years rarely using my Singer Profinish serger because of hating to change thread. I found a Air3000 on Ebay for an affordable price for me. The auto threaders (looper and needles) sold me. Thanks for the comparison! Can anyone speak to whether the dust issue is improved in the 3000?

    • @BoricuaSewingCrafts

    The thread order is 3, 4, 1, 2

    I need to replace my serger. How hard is it to get tension correct? Does it sew heavier fabric? Your video was very informative.

    • @BoricuaSewingCrafts
      @BoricuaSewingCrafts  8 місяців тому

      Both of the machines are easy to use. I have used heavy fabric on both of them and haven't experienced any issues. I recommend visiting a sewing shop so you can try out the machines in person and be able to compare.

    My book says to thread the upper looper first, then the lower (which would be the third position first then the fourth position), then the right needle, then the left needle (which would be the second position then the first position).

    Hi
    Love the videos, but noticed when doing the rolled hem, you had different numbers on the first thread?
    I am wondering if that difference to the look of the rolled hem. I am thinking of buying the 1034dx

    • @BoricuaSewingCrafts
      @BoricuaSewingCrafts  Рік тому

      Hi Sandra. Glad you are enjoying the videos. The different number can be the cause. I am still playing around with the machines. You will love the 1034DX. Make sure you check it out on Walmart online for purchasing. I found it cheaper there. I paid about $199.97 and I believe as of today, it's still the same price. Don't over pay for the machine. The 1034DX is definitely a good buy.

    I read somewhere that thin thread doesn’t get grabbed by the air due to it being so light. Is there a light sewing thread that you experienced having that issue?

    • @BoricuaSewingCrafts
      @BoricuaSewingCrafts  Рік тому

      HI Lori. No I was using Serger thread on both machines. I ended up finding out that I wasn't pushing in the thread all the way. That is why it wasn't catching. Now that I got it I love the Air Flow.....It's so easy to thread.

    • @Llllbbb.123
      @Llllbbb.123 Рік тому

      Yes I know you were using serger thread. Are there different weights of serger thread? Maybe a light serger thread for sheer fabrics? Can all serger weight thread be sucked into the air pressure?

    • @BoricuaSewingCrafts
      @BoricuaSewingCrafts  Рік тому

      Hi Lori. I didn’t know that the serger thread can be of different weights. I didn’t think of that. I’m going to look into it. I know that once I pushed in the thread further down the hole it worked great. I haven’t had anymore issue since then. But now I’m curious. Wondering if different brands of serger thread could be it too.
