I was in the area in May. I figured a day trip would be enough, that was wrong. Kamakura, and Enoshima have so much to offer. Your video has solidified that I’m spending a few days next time. The Verve coffee on Yokinoshita street is a good place for a break.
The Kamakura adventure No. 2 quite different from the last one. The magic bamboo garden, so peaceful in comparison to Kyoto and the tee house as from the fary tails. Even at the beginning a highlight. I like less crowded Kamakura but still vivid with so many opened shops in spite less travelers. The Shrine well situated with a view beautiful as ever but it must have been more convenient to climb the stairs in less hot season. Your favorite Tokyo Station spot turned to magical one with blue lights and lanterns overlooking the project mapping. The coffee/panna cotta puding from Kamakura added to the atmosphere. It was joy to watch your new video early in the morning. Thanks for that and let's keep on walking. GAOOO...
Yes the golden route cities are now way way too overcrowded. not enjoyable anymore. HUGE lines to everything. big waiting times even if you reserved a place in a restaurant. For skytree or shibuya sky the wait can be 2-3 hours.
Loved this Kamakura walking adventure. I hope to be able to visit there one day. So many beautiful sights to see, especially the bamboo forest and shrine. All of your foods and drinks looked meccha oishi. Arigatougozaimasu, Rion, for brightening my day by introducing me to these new places in beautiful Japan. ⛩🇯🇵
I am so happy whenever I see a new video from you, Rion! I enjoy them so much. I know I will never have enough money to travel to Japan, but I am so happy that I can virtually travel with your videos. Even if you would visit the same place in every video, you would still make them enjoyable 😄 Please never stop making these videos.
Love the fascinating Kamakura! So delighted to enjoy a quiet walk leading to the lovely garden surrounding the Hokokuji temple. Yes, stopping by the matcha house and listening to the bamboo leaves rustle gently in the breeze was a healing experience. I couldn't wait to visit this place in my future trips. .
Haha. There is a fairytale for the chinese too. Rabbits, maiden and wood chopper. The only difference is offering are different. Have you tried out mooncake in the past? 🌕
Arigatooo @hwooi1986😆! Yes I’ve tried mooncake when I was in China, but it’s been a while and can’t remember the taste, I will try it again this year😊😋
Wow. I wouldn't have thought of visiting Kamakura. Hokokuji bamboo forest is really a peaceful place. Thank you so much for bringing us there. Loving it. Please bring us to more places like this.
Another amazing video, Hokukuji looks so beautiful and peaceful, it is now on my list for out next visit. I must thank you for your video a few years ago when you went to Enoshima, I decided to fit it into our Tokyo itinerary on our trip last year and it was the best day of our whole Japan trip, we would never have known about it without you!! 😊
Rion ! I watched your Kamakura/Enoshima island video before I went to Kamakura from Tokyo on Aug 23rd this year, just two weeks before you recorded this video ! I went to Hokoku-ji temple, Hasadera Temple, Kotoku-In, then to Enoshima to the same terrace restaurant with the Kaisen Don and the crab soup that you went to! It was a beautiful day but too windy so the terrace was not open but the food really was mecha oishi! Then I walked down the steps to the rocks and caves, it was so worth it. I would go back to Kamakura in heart beat and do it all over again. It was my favorite day of the whole trip.
I went to Hokokuji in 2012. It was really beautiful! Kamakura is a really nice place, especially if you leave the main streets and explore a bit. I was there again last year in May and I walked to Hase station, then took the rail car close to Enoshima. It was very beautiful!
I missed out on Kamakura! It was too hot outside. Next time for sure I'm going there and Endoshima to try everything delicious 😊 Thanks for the update and hard work. You looked like you had a wonderful time filming which makes it more enjoyable to watch! 🎉
Hi Rion! Ok so looks like I can go too on a oneday trip too 😊 I might try that, depending on if I have enough time on my schedule ❤😊 As always, arigatoo
Been to Kamakura but from Yokohama snd used Enoden line where I stopped on various Temples and then crossed the long bridge to Enoshims Island after which I returnef to Tokyo.
Great video! Thank you! Lovin it! 😜 Now I'm going to watch the other Kamakura one before I decided whether to go from Tokyo when I'm there. :) And thank you for warning us about the ticket!
I love Kamakura. Thanks for showing more of it, Rion. And.... Yes... I agree; next time to Kamakura should include Enoshima Island... Just beware of the hawks there!
I grew up eating French Toast. It's super easy to make and since you like to cook, you should have no problem making it. It's a really easy meal. Americans usually have it for breakfast but honestly, it's more of a dessert 😁
Aloha Rion! The only thing i've seen in Kamakura is the giant Buddha when on a tour. I would love to come back and explore the street foods and even that bamboo forest looks beautiful and less crowded than the one in Kyoto. I am intrirued by the upsidown monorail in that area, could you do a video riding that?
I went to Kamakura last March, but unfortunately it rained, so I couldn't go to Hokokuji as I planned. Instead, went to Tsuruoka Hachimangu and by coincidence saw what I think were wedding rites. Also went to Kotokuin to see the giant Buddha. Wasn't able to eat as much street food as I wanted because I got full easily but was happy to taste whitebait and others.
Great video, you are so entertaining! I am going to Japan in October and definitely will visit Kamakura. Would you be able to sugest an interesting 1 day trip to the Mt. Fuji area from Tokyo? Could you do a video on that - where to go, which transport route etc? That would be so interesting to see 😊
Must be nice to have a cup of matcha in the peaceful bamboo forest. Namaste🙏 p.s. Apparently, there are a few bamboo forests right in Tokyo. (Meguro, Setagaya) Maybe next time, right?😉
I could definitely go for some Kaarage, there only one place around here that sells it and they also got a Kaarage rice bowl. I am quite lucky, it is extremely rare.
Rion, great video. In Britain we have the tradition of telling children the moon is made of cheese. As much as I like cheese, I prefer the Japanese story of rabbits making mochi! Haha.
You made Kamakura such a fun & fascinating day trip from Tokyo! ✨ I’ll never get tired of the night view of the Marunouchi side, but wow, the Yaesu side is seriously somethin’ special with those lanterns & lights! 🌟 If you used chopsticks rests growing up, which one was your fav? I didn’t, so the first ones I got were from a chopsticks shop in Tokyo Station 🥢🗻😊
I visited Japan in July but due to the extreme hot weather, I cancel the trip to Kamakura, instead just tour around shopping mall in Tokyo. This place is still in my bucket list and would visit this place in my future trips. Btw, are you able to make a video on Kawagoe.
^I love ur vids! They are so well done. If you had to find a ryokan/onsens in a super scenic/pretty location.... what two cities would you suggest? I am going to go to the normal places like Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto route( and day trips). But, wanted to do an extra 2 nights in another town to have the ryokan experience in a very nice area.( Although not to rural so we can enjoy walking around the town for the day doing things)
Great Kamakura video! I'm excited to visit Kamakura as well. Can you recommend the bus stops going to these places? Meigetsu in Tsyrugaoka Hachimangu Houkokuji Komachi street Kotokuin I'm planning to start from Kita Kamakura. I'm not sure if walking all the way is a good idea, so I guess knowing the Bus routes and bus stops would help a lot. :) More power to your channel.
Hello Rion, I am coming to Japan in November and will be staying in Ueno, I will be travelling to Kamekura and Enoshima for a day trip. Please let me know which is the best train to travel on from Ueno, thank you.
Hiii Rion-san!! I'm glad you went to Kamakura! Because in mid-Sept me and my wife will be going there for one of the itinerary. :) Thank you for this great episode!!! 😄😄😄
こんにちは石田. Haven’t stopped by in a while. I was tired of seeing Tokyo videos. Too many people do them. This is cool. Honestly do more Kansai videos, it’s way more interesting and you have a personal connection to it.
If you want to do Tokyo, let’s get a look at the Japanese entertainment industry. No one does that. It would be amazing if you could get on the set of a show like House of the Owl to help us learn more about Japanese television. Or better yet explain the insanity of Takashi Tachibana and the absolutely insane antics he pulls, and the CRAZY story of Ayaka Otsu and how they are fighting for control of the NHK party! If you could explain that, crazy mad views! guaranteed no one is talking about that! I know you’re not that kind of guy, and yes the nail that sticks out gets hammered down, but think about it. You have a lot of foreign viewers and I’m sure entertainment and politics would be cool. And I’m still amazed as Osakajin, you’ve never mentioned our beloved Hanshin Tigers!!

Kamakura is my favorite ❤ Tks for bringing us there again! Enjoyed it so much!
What I love about rural area in Japan is that those places are so quiet and you feel so comfortable walking around exploring.
