I homebrewed my Wii U using an SD card of 128GB. Can I just add the PMEX files on a 32G card and use that or do I have to Re-homebrew my Wii U using the 32GB card?
You might've not put all the files in correctly. Here's some common mistakes 1) Delete your old project m folder (shown in video) 2) Make sure you dragged the PMEX remix folders onto the ROOT of the SD card 3) Make sure you extracted the zip file 4) Make sure your SD card or SD card reader isn't bugging (not reading the card) Try to go through the tutorial again, and if something's still wrong, comment again with more info and I'll see what's happening. Hope this helps!! :)
Do you know how to be able to play the game with GameCube controllers? Got it downloaded and working but I would love to be able to play with a GameCube controller
I found this smash boards link that will guide you through how to mod the vWii in with a patch that allows for the gamecube adapter, but admittedly it takes very long to set up and there's some complications with the game not loading, so I'd recommend playing this on the actual Wii if you want gamecube controller support. Here's the link: smashboards.com/threads/wii-gca-inject-pm-on-wii-u-with-gamecube-adapter-beta.453431/
@@KennedyGonzalez-ym9wuwhat did you find? I’m having the same trouble and the workaround he linked you have to use gecko os and it has to be a 2GB sd card which won’t fit Project plus remix so I’m stuck.
You can put the screen on the gamepad, but as far as controlling it goes you can't control vWii games on the gamepad. This goes for mods of games, too. I do know you can use bloopair on the regular Wii to connect a dualshock or a switch controller, but I'm not sure if it's on the vWii

(help i spent 1100 yen on this physical game and i dont wanna waste it)
I believe anything on a Wii over 32gb won't load anything as there's too much potential storage to sort through...or for some reason along those lines 🤣. I just know it has to be 32gb or lower, but you're welcome to try as it's not like the SD card will get corrupted. However, if you're deciding between purchasing 64 and 32, I would suggest you go with 32 (rather be safe than sorry)
Would the contents from the PMEX apps folder have to be moved to the current apps folder already on the SD card (asking since I already possess an apps folder on the SD)?
@@ThoniusB Drag the folder for apps form the PMEX Remix download onto the ROOT OF THE SD CARD. Don't put the apps folder for the PMEX remix download INTO the apps folder already on your SD card. If you drag the PMEX apps folder INTO the apps folder of the SD card, the apps folder will end up on the second floor, and its data will end up on a third floor. This is not good. We want all the apps folders on the first floor, and all the data on the second in order for the Wiiu to read it. Dragging the PMEX apps folder ONTO THE ROOT OF THE SD CARD will merge the apps folders onto the first floor, subsequently releasing the PMEX remix data within that initial folder onto the second floor, where it belongs with all the other data for the other mods you installed. Okay, so... I have Project Plus on my SD card, and I want this as a separate thing. How would I do that? I'm afraid of overwriting my P+ files that have the same names.
It acts as a second app on the homebrew launcher; thus, both are treated as separate games with separate save data even if PMEX is inside of the P+ files. TL; DR, your files won't be overwritten; some files are just added on top of them.
Hey thanks for the guide, but i'm running into an issue when I launch the mod. I get a black error screen displaying the message 0x80205fd8. I was wondering if it was a problem with the sd card Im using, which is a 512gb microsd formatted in fat32. Any help would be appreciated since I can't seem to find a fix for this problem anywhere on the internet.
I think the SD card is just way too big. Wiis are usually good with 4gb to 64gb, so try to get an SD card around that range (32gb should be the one, not too little storage but not too much). If it's too much potential storage, the Wii and even Wiiu might not be able to decipher it and it'll give up and crash, giving you that black screen.
@@HyperSuck771 I actually have another question. I have a lot of games currently stored on that 512gb sd card, but if I copied everything but the games to another 32gb sd card with the mod on it, could I use them interchangeably?
@@ethanbutler3890 Depends. If you're modding a game on the 512gb sd card and you want to load those mods up, you must have it on one SD card as 1) you can't have multiple SD cards in a Wii/Wiiu 2) having one or the other in the Wii means it can only load the vanilla game's files (if only the 512gb was in) or only have the mod files with no vanilla game to put them ontop of (the 32gb one). So, what I would do is, keep the games you have stored on the 512gb card and any mods for those games also on that same SD card. For mods for games you have on disk you can separate those onto its own sd card and it'll be fine. As long as both sd cards are formatted properly, the home-brew software you're using should be able to read both and apply the mods and apps in each respective sd card.
Hey there, if I start the regular remix loader on my vWii after a small blackscreen the game load in normal mode not the modded version. Anny suggestions what I can try out to get it running? I was using a 16 GB and 128 gb micro SD Card. I would appreciate any help, thx.
One of the files might be out of place when you dragged and dropped the PMEX remix files in. When PMEX remix loads, it opens brawl then checks to see if all the folders are in the right spot, like most mods. If the mods aren't found it loads the default game. I suggest trying to redownload and drag and drop the files. Don't worry about going in and deleting everything. You can do that if you want, but you can just replace all the pre-existing files. If that doesn't work, leave another comment and I'll see what I can do. Hopefully this helps :)
