Flying from Montreal CYUL to Glasgow EGPF, in this video we’ll look at completing the flight.
    Errors, Omissions, Clarifications:-
    The fine print:
It shouldn't need to be said, but please remember these videos are for recreational simulation and entertainment purposes, not real world flight instruction.
Unlike other videos on the channel, I have been given free access to the Hot Start Challenger 650 as a result of extensive participation in the beta program. My videos are not intended to be an outright promotion of the product, but rather as informative tutorials. No payment has been received for the creation of this content. Thanks to Sašo Kiselkov and Goran Matovina for inviting me to the program and for being so receptive to feedback.

Thoughts and prayers for Graham having to survive off champagne and peanuts for the past year stuck in cruise in his Challenger. Welcome home buddy!

I completely understand any reason for your absence. You have been missed within the Flight Sim community. I took time myself to 're-tool' and move from guitarist to laserist. Continued success Graham.

I physically can not play at the rate and technical level due to normal aging. I still get to jam / produce. However, I fell in love with an old hobby from 1983. Plus, the crowds are nicer, compliant and friendlier than 'whipper-snappers' in a mosh-pit. Lol!@@ReflectedRealitySimulations

Flew CL650 again for the first time in about a year. Had to watch your videos again and it took me almost 2 hours to configure for one flight from Luton to Edinburgh! However, I still struggle to understand the VNAV in this aircraft. I'm sure I'll get the hang of how it works eventually. I have no trouble with A320 or B738.

Absolutely remarkable! Amazing video for lots of excellent advice on one of the phases of flight that is not necessarily simple, but which thanks to you, is becoming so. Thank you very much ! You're fantastic for a fantastic plane on X-Plane 12

Thank you for another great and insightful Challenger video. How did you get all the 2D panels and displays to "pop" on the screen simultaneously in XP12? Key board command? Thank you.

Great video. My understanding is at 50 feet, RA, the ATS goes into RETARD mode. My question is does the ATS control the trust, at some specific schedule, if so, what do you do with the physical Bravo throttles at this point?

Great Video. How did you set up the panels to pop up when you hovered your mouse over the screens?

A question: I can't quite read the CRS you have set for the localiser - it looks like it's been left at 000? I didn't pick up on you mentioning it in the video, so apologies if I missed it, but I've been setting the course to one that's in the charts - we have to do that, right? Thanks for your great videos - I recently bought the CL 650 and they got me up in the air comfortably (within a week lol)

Glad you're enjoying the Challenger. That's an interesting question! Short answer: No, you don't need to set the course, the automatic transfer will take care of that for you just like it tunes the frequency.
Longer answer: In the very early releases of the Challenger this nav-to-nav transfer system was much more fussy, and had a load of arming conditions in there. As a result, I would have recommended that pilots prepare the "green needles" by setting frequency and course manually, then in the event nav-to-nav transfer didn't happen you could just click NAV SRC and it would swap to green needles.
Now, on the current version this can still be valid - if you intend to transfer early to green needles manually then presetting freq and course is best. However the nav-to-nav transfer system is now much simpler, much more realistic and more reliable. The blue "ghost needles" will always show the correct course from the FMS database if you have an ILS approach loaded and are within a 30nm radius from the landing airport. When the aircraft swaps automatically to green needles they will match the blue needles perfectly.

@@ReflectedRealitySimulations Wow, thanks for the detailed answer. I'll give nav-to-nav another go, because yeah, I had been manually setting everything related to the localiser for all the reasons you've explained. Your attention to detail is inspiring!

Does this model have a weather radar? does it display thunderstorms?
