  • Hot Start Challenger 650 tutorial series, Part Two.
Flying from Montreal CYUL to Glasgow EGPF, in this video we’ll be completing the cockpit checks getting the aircraft ready to start up.
    Errors, Omissions, Clarifications:-
Omission : Make sure the STALL PROT Pusher switch is set to ON as part of the SPS test. These switches are below the audio panel on both sides.
Clarification : You can change the chart simply by rotating the DATA dial on the DCP.
    The fine print:
It shouldn't need to be said, but please remember these videos are for recreational simulation and entertainment purposes, not real world flight instruction.
Unlike other videos on the channel, I have been given free access to the Hot Start Challenger 650 as a result of extensive participation in the beta program. My videos are not intended to be an outright promotion of the product, but rather as informative tutorials. No payment has been received for the creation of this content. Thanks to Sašo Kiselkov and Goran Matovina for inviting me to the program and for being so receptive to feedback.
    The flight routing:
    CYUL 24L CYUL1 DCT RABIK Q951 DANOL N923A ELSIR/M080F380 50N050W 51N040W 52N030W 52N020W XETBO/N0447F390 DCT ROTEV/N0424F250 P600 BLACA BLACA ILS 23 EGPF

Thanks, trying to fit doing videos in around full time work again is hard, but I'm hoping to add a fair bit of Challenger content when I can.

Thinking about buying this and a question on the first officer. Is this a setting in hotstart? Also how to turn on the hints showed in this video? Great content and thanks for all your information sharing. It's the best I have found regarding this product

I know you've got the aircraft now, but replying for anybody else curious about the answer. Yes, the First Officer is a setting you can turn on and off. The hint images are also controllable using the menu entries for the Challenger.

You're welcome - the Challenger can be a complicated aircraft to begin with, but after a few attempts it all becomes pretty straightforward.

Graem thank you for your content, how do you rate this versus the cl30 on xp11 from dden ?
i love flying that plane, although it seems less complex.

Thanks for the nice feedback. I only had the DDenn Challenger 300 on XP10, and found it to be good fun, but nowhere near the detail on the Hot Start Challenger 650. I believe the real 300 is a more modern design than the 600 series, so should be a bit easier to operate, but with the DDen aircraft I found the avionics difficult to use due to the use of a stock FMS.
