In this interview we had the pleasure of speaking with Angela Burton, the Chief Writing Motivator of Feet to the Fire Writers’ Workshops®.
Angela Burton has been writing about life and all its pleasures and pains for most of her 59 years.
She founded Feet to the Fire Writers' Workshops®, a licensed global expressive writing program for older adults in senior living communities and wellness organizations. Working with older people, she’s seen firsthand the power of self-expression through writing, a clear pathway to purpose and autonomy. As a 50+ entrepreneur, she was accepted into the WILD Female Founder Accelerator for her startup passion and innovation in aging.
In 2020, she was named a Next Avenue Influencer in Aging for her dedication and passion to help send a new message that getting older is not only certain, but can be something to treasure. Her writing and work have appeared in Next Avenue, MarketWatch, Forbes and McKnight’s Long-Term Care News. She holds an MFA in Writing from Vermont College of Fine Arts.
Angela is a trusted voice inspiring older adults to embrace life in their later years through self-acceptance and creative expression. She also invented and produced a companion podcast for Feet to the Fire Writers’ Workshops® that attracted listeners from 17 countries with more than 1,000 downloads.
