I'm so glad this fine piece of machinery was rescued from a scrap yard after sitting rusting for over 25 years! I have seen pictures of it in 1973 and it didn't look great, so glad the owners of Barry scrap yard kept it.
A lovely clip there Trevor...My Dad drove this loco on many occasions, including on film sets etc. He said it was a well designed engine that steamed and pulled well, and rode well too. It's worth reading up on its long history as it was rescued from Barry Scrapyard in 1981, and had been based at many long gone steam sheds on the Great Western region.
