Arthur Season 1 Credits, Season 16 Style

- So I thought I'd do something completely different, this isn't exactly retro TV but since I figured out I could record from modern TV to my computer over the summer, I figured it was good a time as any to show some rarities!
So, for those unaware, when older Arthur episodes are shown on modern PBS, they retroactively update the credits to be more in the style of the recent seasons (as well as the funding credits, but RoadRunnerCoyote16 has already uploaded these if you want to check them out). I'm personally not a fan of it but they're a pretty rare sight since PBS so rarely airs old episodes anymore, so why not give it an upload?
As far as I'm aware, I believe only pre-PBS Kids Go credits get this treatment (I believe this includes Seasons 1-8, but don't quote me on that...it would make sense, considering Season 9 was the first Cookie Jar season so they theoretically wouldn't need an update). I also have the Season 2, 5, and 7 credits in this style. This particular recording was taken from the August 18, 2016 airing of "Arthur's Eyes/Francine's Bad Hair Day".
◾ *Arthur* (October 7, 1996 - February 21, 2022)
◾ *Postcards from Buster* (October 11, 2004 - February 20, 2012)
It's been a great ride and awesome show.
Thank you for the greatest childhood memories that I will always cherish forever. 💖❤🧡💛💚💙💜
damn arthur was one day off from ending on the 10th anniversary of postcards from buster's final episode
These shows ended on the same month
I miss Arthur, it was my favorite childhood show ):
Childhood memories intensifies 💖🌼
This is a makeover prior to the original design in 1996.
It's really noticeable
I think I like the new color style.
Me too
Me too. The original color style was kind of unpleasant. Was the show originally cel animated, or digitally colored with dated technology?
@@AGPfan Seasons 1-5 were animated cels , seasons 6-15 and then starting with season 16, the show was switched to flash animation
@@CartmansFat98 Actually the first 3 seasons were cel animated, then season 4-15 were digital ink & paint.
Accidentally WGBH is for Peep and the big wide world
Arthur And The Real Ratburn aired on September 9, 1996.
Arthur’s Spelling Trouble aired on September 9, 1996.
Arthur Writes A Story aired on November 25, 1996.
I have a quick question: are the older episodes themselves cropped to widescreen now, or are they still in their original 4x3 aspect ratio?
They are still in 4:3, the credits are just plastered
Fee
I remember learning to with those books by Mark Brown. Each episode had a book to go with it, which was how it was by in the day when I was in grade school.
Good music
My favorite part is 22-36
I hate how the season 6 credits' techno remix was replaced with this...
*sigh*
Yeah, that's really lame. I always liked hearing that remix when I was young!
New one is better music
I'm ok with this one
What's weird about these ending credits is that you can hear the tail end of the theme song vocals at the WGBH logo.
It sounds better IMO
I told you, NOT TO TOUCH IT!!!
Super sayin ko
One of the most iconic Arthur scenes out there.
You built it all wrong
Did you even read the directions?
It's not my fault if you made a plane that can't fly.
I told you….!! NOT TO TOUCH IT!!!! (POW!!) WHAAAAA!!!! AAAAHAAAHH!!!
Arthur Timothy Read, COME HERE!!!!!
If PBS Kids Go! was revived as a block on the PBS Kids channel, they would use these remastered credits, and have their usual "Block City" idents.
Arthur is ending
They remastered the credits

This used to scare me
But the 2016-2022 is way better
Belle Nickelodeon Disney Channel Fox Kids Cartoon Network PBS Kids
This must have happened after the season 18 premired.
Why?
The end scares me
Do you have any more 1990s PBS commercial breaks that you can upload in 60 fps (including reuploading the 1997 video with the Arthur fundings)?
A few more...thankfully I think I've recorded all of them to my hard drive, but there aren't a whole lot more. And sadly a small handful of them are completely missing audio, which is incredibly frustrating. And I've tried playing with settings on two different VCRs, and it was a no-go.
